ive got mad love for the 909 and all the roland boxes from that era. my 909 is model number 448630 so its an older model, im assuming late 80s. once i used to always watch videos with 909s, 808s, 707s and the like and wish i had one. now i have a 909, 707, 727, SH-101 and an Alpha Juno 2 and could not be happier!
I didn't know about the PSU diode fix until I saw this, my 909 resets all the time and it is an absolute pain in the arse to set the MIDI channel and select the pattern again every time. I will have to have a go at fixing that over X mas. Thanks for the excellent demonstration.
Hi there, thanks for this brilliant tutorial. I have a question I wonder if you can help me with.... I just obtained a 909 serial number 448590 but the rom is version 1. Any ideas whats going on here?. Kind regards
@phono1337 yeah, i guess it would...! I'll say it again, your videos are a fantastic resource. I've owned my 101, 303, 606, 909 etc for a while now but your vids have shown me stuff I would have never have guessed at - pattern copying on the 303 for example.

Its not a big issue right now but the rocker switch on the back of my 909 (the on/off switch) is broke so the unit switches straight to on when plugged in and only turns off when unplugged. I don't like just unplugging it though it feels like im tempting memory corruption. Any advice on this?
for those that want to ear the 909,all i can say is go and buy one,this video is focus in to get started people that have 909 and dont know how to use it.

Hi, I have notice some Tr909 have a big roland logo on the right side but most are small and at the top left, what model does that represent? newer/older any idea?
THANK GOD - not another idiot 'look at my 909' video. This is the exact video I've been meaning to make for those who have a 9 and need just an extra nudge to get a little more out of your box. Excellent coverage on the ext inst mode! Very handy when you're live and need another seq to drive a bass line. AWSOME phono1337!!
This video is great. I've got a 909 here myself but its in need of so minor repairs, The clap is letting through far too much white noise so my guess is one of the components in the envelope generator for it is broken. I'll happily poke around inside my 707 or Casio RZ-1 but I would rather some one who knows what they are doing have at my 909 with a soldering iron.
Also the copy feature is the most handy thing I never knew about the 909 Thanks for taking the time to make this vid.

is this sample based or is the 909 like the 808 Analog based?

@ollie633 The Sounds are all analog, except for the Hi Hats and the Crash and Ride sounds.
