  • hey what type off training is this

  • @bullshark67ify

    This is Battlefield Kali training.

  • Chain Saws!!!! Lolololol..... classic Lucky Dog Richardson

  • Awesome! Never heard of these until just now. (Shows how much I keep up on things, huh?) Excellent idea, sort of like the knife equivalent of paintball or simunitions with firearm training. Gotta wonder how someone first came up with the idea for this. Maybe a couple of guys dueling for fun with a pair of stun guns...? Now, if only someone would come up with an upscaled version of this for sword combat training... :-)

  • @darkwriter77

I'm waiting for the "shock sword" too!

  • @BurtonRichardson How about something older? Bokken and no pads! Sometimes the old ways are best. LOL

  • @JLamarsVids Just a little too dangerous! ;)

  • i thought it said SHOCKnife sparring and was like i HAVE TO SEE

  • This is a good way to train. Closest to the real thing training.

  • Nice lesson!

    Thank You!

  • i think if i was in a knife fight, i would rather work on disarming my appointed then killing,

  • @NastyMutation killing tends to... disarm. Most of the time.

  • I like it. Thx for the video.

  • excellent point sir! well done

  • Hence long range techniques are just as important as the close combat skills. Excellent video , thank you for sharing.

  • @ACTdirector Absolutely. And let me compliment you on your videos. Great to see the technical sparring. Keeping it real.

  • @BurtonRichardson

Thank you so much for your praise, Sir. Means a lot to us coming from you.

  • @ACTdirector I wish everyone would train like your group. Keep up the great work.

  • I miss my shockknives. They broke when I left my case out and open in my back yard because I'm retarded and it rained for like a week before I remembered.

  • Check our website at battlefieldkali or jkdunlimited You will find a list of instructors and training groups.

  • where can i take classes like this ?

  • I bet the highest level is with lightsabers

  • @Ben1987X Too dangerous! ; )

  • Excellent demo of level of fear of getting cut. This is a great example of get close as possible to the real thing.

  • @JimKelly47 Thank you Mr. Kelly.

  • Ouch! :o

  • finally a video that show real respect for knife training. where can i find those shock knives? i would love to train with them.

  • @adp01 Thanks. Go the shocknife website. They have done a great job with the

    product!

  • @adp01 Just google shocknife at go to their site. it is a great tool.

  • i feal jipped no one got shocked

  • @LateKnight347 Hey- that's the idea! :)

  • Excellent! I also like the back of your shirt. What is it exactly?

  • wow you made you point very well with humor might I add.

  • Sweet!

  • Respect! Really looking forward to your future tournaments.

  • Super! Да разница большая... Я уж не говорю о настоящих ножах - а то у нас любят деревяшками махать почем зря!

  • is there any other kind of knife on the market that shocks, or is Shocknife the only thing out right now?

  • The Shocknife is the only one I know of. It is extremely well-made and very, very durable. I suspect that copycats may come out in the future which are made with inferior products.

  • I agree...but for that kind of money I cant afford that ya know. Oh also, I did knife sparring in the Army and i fell in love with it and carried it over to civilian life... I want to compete in tournaments but I cant seem to find anything. Do you hear of thing like this ever?

  • We are going to throw a tournament like that. Hopefully it will spread!

  • where are you all located out of?

  • Honolulu, but I have instructors in various parts of the world, and we have a great distance learning program that trains people to really fight well.

  • You might be able to get by with a cheap stun-gun. You might have to modify it a bit to keep it from breaking in case of accidental droppage, clashing of weapons, etc. Also, it'd only be good for simulating a stabbing weapon like a shiv.

  • I would love to get the shock knives but they are soooooo expensive.

  • YIKES! That reminds me of Pavlov's Dog. Looking at this video, how long does it usually take a student to start using their empty hand? How do you train against blades longer than 5 inches?

  • The empty hand is difficult to use in fighting when dealing with the knife. It is a last resort when the distance closes. (Close range is where both fighters usually die.) We do sparring with various sized blades.

  • Thanks. I also sent you an e-mail asking about the use of screwdrivers for arm locks and grappling.

  • Cool!

  • Is there a "longsword" or "spear" version of them?

  • No, but that would be fun, wouldn't it? :)

  • Dude... Kendo or Naginatado with a shock weapon would be so awesome... LOL Electrical nunchucks!!!!! LOL

  • daaaaamn....ive only ever heard of the shock knife never seen them in action..how many volts in those bad boys

  • At the highest setting it delivers 7500 volts! You don't want to get touched with these!

  • Those things are great training tools. They're just really expensive to get a hold of. You definitely will benefit from using these, even with you hand vs. knife drills.

  • thanks for commenting. Yes, training against them emptyhanded really gets the juices going! And, forces only the most effective methods of defense. On the price, personally, I think they are more than worth every penny for the increased skill development and personal development that comes with realistic training.

  • Will it(shocknife) injure someone with a heart problem?

  • I don't know. I would say better to be safe than sorry. It does deliver quite a jolt. GREAT training, though.

  • Good stuff. Thanks.

  • Thanks for the comments. Knife attacks do happen. We must keep the training out of the realm of fantasy and securely in reality. I assume that one of my students may one day need to call on the training, and it is my job to prepare them as well as I can.

  • Gracias- pienso che el realismo y la diversión no tienen que ser separados!

  • Correct Sir...very well done :-)

  • Great video! Too often people train for Mutual Assured Destruction when it comes to knife. The shockknife definitely makes you respect things a little more.

    Cheers!

    Patrick

  • One possible alternative to the long-range-I-don't-want-to-get-cut strategy is to smother the knife attack, to boldly go in and not allow the opponent the advantage of his reach or quickness, a la Silat. Burton's double wrist grab against the attacker's knife hand/arm is a simple, but effective way to do this. He will be concentrating on the fact that you've immobolized his knife hand.

  • Great point, Burton. To start with, most people don't knife spar, and when they do, they tend to be reckless with their offense and defense. This is especially true when the knife is soft. The moment you use a harder knife (and this entails a little more pain), there is less recklessness (but less trading).

  • Fantastic example! How easy a workout can be a problem of attitude faraway from reality

  • Too fun!

  • Got to get me one of those!

  • this is so right

  • ditto
