  • This movie actually came out in '91. And Cameron actually started the CGI revolution with the Abyss. It was pretty must tested there and worked. So he upgraded the effects for the T-1000. BTW, I do have the Ultimate Edition. It does kick ass. And I think the extra footage, just like Aliens and especially the Abyss are essential to really understand the plot better. I really did like the Special Edition of The Abyss so much better, when I understood what the aliens were going to do to humanity.

  • I'd say the plot is just a complete revamp of the first terminator. You have the T800 playing the role of Reese and John in the role of the Sarah. You have Sarah's character who acts as an extra wheel to shake things up and there you have the T1000 who plays the villian. In terms of plot I'd say the first film was much much better because of the fact that there were so many subplots most notably Reese and Sarah's relationship. And the subplots involving Reese's mission unfolding.

  • wait to go if i hadnt seen the movie i would be really pissed ,you gave the ending away which your not suppost to do in a movie review

  • I think this is the best of all the films!...1 thing I'd like to note is the personality of the Terminator himself, it's the best here because you see how it learns from John Connor, you see how it can learn human emotion when originally it was created for killing humans!

And in turn we have T1000, like the first film he's relentless but even more sinister and very calculating but I just wanted to make comparison between the 2 myself, anyway very good review!^^!

  • awesome news! i just red that Arnold and even Robert Patrick will be in terminator 5! :D

  • Terminator 2 came before its time.

    James Cameron is fucking great!

  • u watched the day after as a kid? so u still a kid. so go play toys.

how can u compare clasic movie as is t2 to some crap day after? ,,,

  • lol. All the haters of this guy are goddamn pathetic.

  • Sorry man but I almost fell asleep,

  • The most realistic depiction of nuclear bombing that has ever been put to film? What about the movie The Day After?

  • Haven't seen that film, bu at the time, the Nuclear Watchdog claimed it was the most realistic. That has probably changed now, considering the age of the film.

  • the day after wasnt that realistic... it was poorly made in comparison to the effects that were used in T2... but it is a very good "what if" film...

  • that was at the time , this was out before that

  • Yes. It was out long before the T2. Of course the nuclear bombing in T2 looks very realistic, but I mentioned The Day After because that movie makes quite an impact on you (at least to me it did - when I watched it as a kid, it made me really paranoid). The difference between the two is that T2 is given as sci-fi movie and therefore you do not take it that seriously (not seeing self-aware machines coming anytime soon), while The Day After portrays the "this can actually happen" here and now.

  • @Irakvrsor To this day that scene is still disturbing to me

  • Some kid rewiev film that was made when he pissed in the diper... OMG! Leave that job to pros.

  • What the fuck is he talking about? Go drink milk and go to bed.

  • First rule for that idiot Sabbon, don't ever appologize, it lowers your value, second, speak up, you sound like a timid bitch, man up. Third, get cocky, start acting arrogant like you're better than all of us. Then watch your channel grow after all these steps are taken. Pay me later.

  • i actually like seeing new reviews of old movies, it tells me how the opinions of a movie change overtime

  • Could you be anymore boring?

  • Finally, we get to the core of your argument. I can definitely see where you're coming from, but honestly, just because something belongs to another generation does not mean newer generations cant like it. I am a sci fi fan and as such, could not possibly respect myself if I DIDN'T like classics like T2, Alien, Predator or The Day The earth Stood Still. As they say, you must know where you came from, before you can forge a new path.

  • Dont review it. Watch it, but dont review it.

Only review stuff which is meant to be seen in the cinema big screen.

    That is all.

  • Ok, comment noted and registered. I take you're point (seeing it in the cinema does change the experience), but I still am going to review older films, especially if they are culturally significant, or I just plain like them.

  • @MainRoom1

    My god, you're narrow minded.

  • @MainRoom1 your a fucking cocksucking clown

  • You are a complete jackass, Mainroom1

  • I have to agree-his whole argument doesn't make any sense whatsoever. I just can't believe the discussion went on between the two of them for as long as it did. I would have stopped after the first sentence...if I would have responded at all.

  • your a complete fucking moron and probably should be shot.

  • @MainRoom1 What the fuck?????????

  • Look kid. Fact of the matter is you were 1 when it came out. Dont review it ever.

Dont even think about reviewing movies that came out well before you generation bucko.

  • Well, at least I know you're so narrow minded to discount everyone elses views after the eighties. Heavens, if they've seen the film, surely they CANT have an opinion on it. The internet really sucks atm, no-one has ever heard of free speach. And I know you're gonna reply by saying "its my view that anyone born after the film can't possibly enjoy it the same as me'. Quite the elitist view you have there.

  • Indeed, you are talking out of one's ass. If a film is made well, an audience should be able to pick up on context. This is why undiputed classics such as Cassablanca and Dr Strangelove are still loved today (and dont start on those films because they ARE classics). T2 does carry over its context pretty damn well, allwoing any viewer to get gripped by it.

  • Hold on, how old are you?

Is this film even part of your generation?

    You sound 12 years old.

This movie came out in 1991.

Someone who was at least 18-21 around this time should be reviewing it.

  • Sorry I can't speak for my age (18), but I can appreciate a classic when I see it. Just because I was 1 when the film came out does not mean I love it any less than someone who saw it at the cinema. Stand on principle, obviously anyone who didn't see Star Wars on the big screen can't appreciate its sheer awesomeness, and can't put their views across. A positive review is a positive review.

  • No wrong. The context of the movie relates to the times and all other movies around it at the time.

1 years old!!. Go review Harry Potter or summit, or that lame Lord Of The Rings.

You dont know T2 the film.

  • And just because you don't like Lord of the Rings, doesn't mean it isn't a modern classic. Any critic worth their salt can recognise the greatness of a film, even if they don't like it. For me, that would be Titanic. I just can't get into that film, but I understnad WHY it was so revolutionary, and how some people could enjoy it.

  • How the fuck can you even call it "modern classic" <<< Contradiction.

You kids and your whole generation aint got a clue.

    "modern classic" ?

Please leave it out. Wait 10-15 years then decide if its a classic.

    Sheessh, kids these days.

Calling it a modern classic. LMAO X 100000000.

I swear, no clue at all.

  • Hence why its called a 'modern' classic. T2 is still a 'modern' classic. Give it another 5 oddyears and I'll accept it as a 'true' classic. Films have to be in the public mind for at least 20 years (in my view) to be considered a classic, as it proves it has staying power. Most modern classics seem to be a flsh in the pan, like The Dark Knight (sure the film is amazing, but do you really think people will be talking about it in 20 years time?)

  • Look dude, I dont consider the term "modern classic" to be valid one little bit. Just cut out the "modern classic" crap and leave the film to mature for 10-15 years.

Whats the point in calling it a modern classic. Why not say its really good.

1 when T2 came out. LMAO.

I saw it at the cinema. You did not.

  • I still really don't get how that affects anything. What do you want me to say, congratulations, you're older than me?

  • Go review a film that was made 20 years before you were born. See if I care.

Theres is no culture no more, cause cunts like you are reviewing films that came out when you were 1.

Youth cultures is completely dead these days.

My generation was the last of the greatest generaion to grace this planet. And my Dads before me.

Get your own culture, leave T2 alone. Its mine and every one that was 16+ on its realease in 1991.

  • You can only review a film if you where old enough to see it when it came out in the cinema? OK what next tell schools to stop book assingments on 'Treasure Island' because the students wern't around when it was published.

  • I dont know. THATS why you gotta wait 20 years and find out.

  • The best CGI effect ever, now remember before that, was 100% actions films, Tango & Cash, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon etc.

The best momment ever was when the T1000 walking through the metal bars. JAW DROPPED .............

  • think you could do a review of braveheart? That movie is amazing one my favorites. Also have you ever seen kingdom of heaven?

  • T2 is my favorite action film ever! I didn't like how the original was set like a horror film (sorry, not a fan of horror). Liked to see Arnold become a hero and it had one of the greatest villains ever: the T-1000!!! This film was awesome with kick-ass on top and a side of fuck yeah!

  • Agree expecpt 2 points:

To much info on DVD-ver? There is no such thing! No one is forcing you to watch it all, how can the OPTION to go into as much detail as you would have ever wanted be bad? You said it was the best DVD to buy ever and you give it 8?! Does that mean there have never been a 10-worth DVD?

Orchestral over technoinfluence? For star-wars maybe but come on, orchestral is high class, and this is a grim futuristic film, why not electronicsounding music when half the chars are robots

  • Yea, I do agree about the score, I suppose a grungy soundtrack DOES fit the film better. And that's also a good point about the DVD. It's the second best I own, next to the Alien Quadrilogy, which does it right: awesome in depth material, but not TOO much. However, it is optional, so I guess you're right there.

  • Dude.. Obama is a T-X just watch how he moves and talks, Skynet donated like 50 million to his campagin ..so yea just wait....im joining the Tech-com resistance asap . God bless us all

  • this movie was best in 90s along with GoldenEye

  • the guy stab john coners step dad not, dad

  • whats some snot nosed punk little kid who was prob still in nappies when the film came out gonna tell me about one the pivital films of my youth.

    Get out of here

  • You have some sort of hearing problem, becuase I said it was one of the best films ever made. Also, who cares how old you are when a movie came out to appreciate it now? I wasn't alive when the original Star wars or King Kong was made, but that doesn't mean that they are any less classics, or I enjoy them less.

  • You dont understand the context the movie T" was released into. You are also far to young and boyish to realise the huge impact the then ground breaking and truley awsome special effects had on the futore of film. Your generation has been raised on a glut of CGI so the processs no longer seems magicle or special to view. Go and learn how to pee standing up and wait till your balls drop before comenting on big boy films.

Go on get out of here!!!

  • P.S know my spelling is out of kilter so dont bother commenting on that

  • Hell the fuck no. I sat through 2 weeks (2 WEEKS) worth of that whole film school on a dvd thing, so I have pretty fair idea. I fully realise T2 was revolutionary, and the effects still look amazing. I hate CGI compared to practical effects. Give me a good old man in an Alien suit or stop motion Terminator any day over some CGI crap. Point in case, the AVP monsters looked awful compared to the classics. However, in some cases (such as this) CGI is beneficial, also Jurassic Park.

  • I agree. How many people do you know that love Beethoven's music, that have seen him in concert?

  • You cannot hope to tell me how I feel about one of my favourite movies. Just because you may be older, and may have more experience does not give you the right to tell someone their opinion is wrong (even though, from what I gather, we pretty much share the same opinion, as long as you think T3 is pretty sucky).

  • whats some snot nosed punk little kid who was prob still in nappies when the film came out gonna tell me about one the pivital films of my youth.

    Get out of here

  • -John Conner was 10 in Terminator 2

-The movie was made in 1991 NOT 1992!

-The theme song was very good, and the "Techno" part is not as bad as you say, and a fully orchestral theme wouldn't fit with a Terminator movie, hence Terminator 3.

    -Otherwise good review.

  • John was 10 at the time of the plot!!^^^^ Okay, okay, okay...who cares?? Great work, like always!!;)

  • great review but im sure it was liquid steel not lead lol

  • meh, lol.

  • haha yeh still amazing review dude looing foward to more

  • can you do the Jurassic park series soon

    favorite!!!!! films of all time

  • I am considering doing them - I have a lot of things to consider atm reviews wise.

  • its skynet. not cyberdyme.

  • Cyberdyne is the company (corporation I guess) that made skynet.

  • one of the best movies ever!

  • lol, Stinkin' Park fan.

  • *ahem*1991*cough*

  • DAMN IT! Not again!

  • Great review man! Terminator 2 is a great movie but I still love the first one better.

  • lol, ok then. My videos really DO have smomething for everyone!

  • I do like listening to the review itself too, though! lol

  • O that's alright then, lol.

  • Could you possibly choose between T1 and T2 as the better film? I personally can't.

  • Yea tis a very hard choice.

  • Well yea I am a nerd, but I am looking forward to your review. Be advised that I will also be delving into the philosophical side a little (Philosophy A level FTW!), so it would be nice if we could get a little philosophical debate going maybe?

  • great review cant wait for more

  • Oh crap!!!

  • Lol not today, yesterday!

  • Not more James will this pain ever stop

  • Lol ain't you meant to be at thorpe park?

  • the terminators are my all time fav triliogy but terminator 2 is my all time fav film i lv it

  • Spot on as usual, well done! T3... hmm should be interesting!

  • Yea I have mixed feelings, should be interesting! I want to thank you regualr guy for your support again, as I've been taking a lotta falk over avp - I'm not happy with the review eprsonally, but my points still stand and some people are being rather nasty. So thanks again.

  • never seen termenator 2 :( it looks amazing though only seen 1 and 3

  • I reccomd you change that as soon as possible lol. It is one of the best films you will ever see!

  • Spot on review, bit miffed you didn't rate Guns n Roses input to the score. I think that song rocks! Liking the new and improved structured reviews.

  • Didn't comment on it cause i didn't know lol! Bump it up to an 8/10 for the score then lol.

  • T2 is a great movie. The only fault is that they did'nt film all off Michael Biehn scenes.

  • Yes and a good point - the good thing about the dc is they included the reese scenes.
