I have a bucket handle tear now and my doctor wouldn't tell me how bad it is. He just said a large bucket handle tear and said he has to check with the MRI scan to see how bad it is. But I'm having surgery nxt tuesday. I hope it's repairable. But it's funny cuz I can straighten my leg (not fully), but I can't bend it as much.

If it flattens out back into the original position you will regain most of the mobility, but certain positions can uplift it again or cause it to flare up. I just had my surgery consultation today so it's fresh in my mind :(

Hey. i was just wondering. my leg is locked at the moment and i cant straighten it. i went to the doctor , he belives its a meniscus tear and has reffered me to a knee surgen. thing is im only 16, still at college. and im missing college becuase i cant get there, the journeys to long ect to go on cructhes. how long do you reckon it will take i can have my surgery>? bare in mind im young and still in full time education

@WFUfandude Did you guys have an Operation on your knee? I might be having an Operation in 1-2 weeks. Awaiting results from MRI since my consultant has constructed that I have A Bucket Handle Tear.

i tore my meniscus up into a bucket handle tear and tore my ACL..all i have to say is that it hurt like a bi**h......

on a lighter note...Im so glad this video actually explains what happens because its so hard to find information explaining bucket handle tears.. so thank you!!
