@angeldogx what are you comparing, 1 space marine to 1 imperial Guardsman? Yes the Guardsman will loose.... but check the point system its a little different to par up to 1 spacemarine i think its 5 Guards or more, not sure anymore.

@alex310892 In warhammer 40K kreig is the name of a planet that has a model range based on WW1/2 germans. Lots of gas masks and trench coats. They are known in fluff for haveing verry homogenous armies because of cloneing done to revive their population after a nuke war.

But they are based on the Red Army, the name is just taken from the nordic mythology. Even the name of the soldiers are eastern european in origin (Polish/Russian/etc)

Actually the standard Lasgun and the M16 are on the same level of firepower though I believe because of the fact that a Laser Bolt is heat generating then you can do more with it then a simple bullet

Well, the M16 is equivelent to the standard pattern Autogun (whichever name it is...) in the W40k-universe. Which, in the Tabletop Game is as effective / lousy as the standard pattern Lasgun.

In the Roleplaying Game Dark Heresy though, there is a little more difference.
