Like in America, they won their independence from the British in 1783. It took them 80 years to finally free black slaves and another 110 or so after that to finally give them equal rights. The Cuban Revolution is 50 years young. Very very young and the hardships against them, especially with the United States and the trade embargo is hard to live under. Cuba will become a better place to live under you just have to be more patient and understanding. Things take time.

Prefering to pay for your education and health care is an opinion and in no way is a universal rule to be applied to every country. The right to free speech, however, as well as freedom to travel and vote, should be free to everyone.

Like in America, they won their independence from the British in 1783. It took them 80 years to finally free black slaves and another 110 or so after that to finally give them equal rights. The Cuban Revolution is 50 years young. Very very young and the hardships against them, especially with the United States and the trade embargo is hard to live under. Cuba will become a better place to live under you just have to be more patient and understanding. Things take time.

Cubans deserve the right to travel. Cubans deserve the right to speak their minds.
Cubans deserve the right to vote.
All this while trying to keep the core ideals of the revolution alive and keeping together a classless, selfless society where no individual can gain advantage over another.
I don't have all the answers, but that's my lowly opinion.

We studied communist ideas in the books and it is really amazing if they apply the right way. It all looks ideal for the perfect word,But to take it to real word doesn't work. This is what happens people like this guys take advantage of the rest.

Communism, or whatever you want to call it, in it's ideal form almost sounds utopian; a classless, greedless society where no one wants to better themselves over anyone else. But really it starts from the inside out.
I think that the world consciousness is slowly evolving in that direction and things will be more natural in the future instead of feeling forced. Most of the world is not ready for it yet.

Have you been to Cuba Frogstomp?? Have you talked to people currently living in the country? i doubt it because you wouldn't talk the babble you speak right now. I had a drink with a kind/opportunistic man in Matanzas and found out his son had been incarcerated for 15 yrs for refusing to attend a public speech by Castro. The whole city had been given/ordered the day off but they HAD to go to the speech? Also, I found it sad that a wise historian had to offer tours to make a wage.u want patience?

I know Cuba has lots of problems and so does every other country. I know some Cubans who are genuinely happy with things yet I will not take a handful of people and say they speak on behalf of every Cuban.
There are very intelligent people all the time who work crappy jobs with little to no money and this is in every country. So a wise historian offers tours to people? Real education comes from the real world.
