  • When your listening to Borderline case while thinking very hard about almost ANYTHING... your mind loses its virginity

  • @therealfolkblues007 What do you mean?

  • @TheNile182 I mean you get mindfucked... just like whenever this song plays in the series

  • @therealfolkblues007 I don't find it mindfucking, to me it's a soothing and psychedelic experience. Not too different from what one might experience in modern art installations or Art House films.

I recommend reading the "Understanding Evangelion" article at anime news network, unless you've already read it.

  • @TheNile182 If this isn't mindfuckery, then what is FLCL to you?

  • @Clarinerd617 I haven't seen FLCL yet, though I have seen it's larger spiritual successor Gurren Lagann. It had it's moments of mindfuckery in first few episodes, but it eventually grew to be more epic than wacky, and it's great.

  • @TheNile182 In terms of mindfuckery, TTGL is to FLCL as Macross Plus is to Dead Leaves.

  • @Clarinerd617 Since I'm rather inexperienced in anime I'll just interpret that as; I haven't seen half of it.

    How close did I get?

  • @TheNile182 You hit the nail on the head.

  • to me, the most interesting thing is the name. Borderline is as known a mental illness, which fits together with NGE´s psychological aspects, especially end of evangelion. to me, this song describes when you´re about to cross the line between staying sane and becoming insane, therefore the song name. just a thought.

  • I would quote the entire Rei poem right here and now, but it'd be too long for the comments to handle. :P

  • @CALAdmin O_o ok...that was mind****ing I was like WTF? dude seriously that is a mind**** XDD

  • I'm Asuka, Asuka Langley Soryu! Charmed, huh? ... What are you, stupid? ... And now's, my chance... NO! None of this is the real me! *shatter*

  • took me so long to find this song :o

  • yes it is

  • best track used in the series no?

  • I like this song. It's very primitive in its construction, trying to get back to the roots of humanity.

  • @hotelmario510 Very well said! There's something about this song... something that can't be properly described in words. Thats'w why it fits so well to Shinji's "Thinking" Moments.

  • @WaterCrystalline I know. All Shiro Sagisu's music is great.

  • excelente cancion para poder refleccionar. ademas esta de la puta madre :)

  • oh god brings back mindfucking memories XD

  • This song almost gave me Lavender Town Syndrome.

  • It's mindfucking how this song is the same as Yume no Sukima from End.

  • @CrazyPeach /watch?v=UeXKtAQZGqo

  • This makes me think about....... Stuff.

  • The Human Instrumentality Project during the last 2 episodes.

I didn't know what the fuck was going on for those grueling 42 minutes of mindfuck. I have nightmares now.

  • sounds like The Legend of zelda: twilight princess soundtrack XD

  • Does anybody know the name of that "Twang-twang-twang-twang-twang" sound effect they play over sequences that take place in the characters minds? Or is it just "That twang-twang-twang-twang-twang sound effect"?

  • @hotelmario510 probbly just some kinda drum im not sure what its called though

  • @BrandonWestbrook1993 I'm pretty sure it's a guitar.

  • @hotelmario510 i thought thay ment the noise in this song it sounds like a drum or somthing

  • @BrandonWestbrook1993 No...LOL, how does that sound like "twang-twang-twang"?

  • @hotelmario510 If you mean the sound that often plays during the helltrain scenes, then I'm not sure exactly what the sound is called, but most people say it's the sound a train makes when it stops.

  • @SirBagelio Ah, see, I made that connection. It's a very unsettling noise.

  • @SirBagelio I more thought It was the Doppler effect that you get when passing a boom gate siren in a train. It makes the same sound when you drive passed the train signal in Mario Kart 64. :P

  • @hotelmario510 You mean one in track titled "Marking time, Waiting for death"?

Thats similliar to warning sound on rail crossing. In fact such (or similiar) sound is played in scene when they are waiting to cross the rail.

  • @rafioooo Ah, it seems to make sense now. It's always used for suspense.

  • ive been looking for this theme i finaly found it when i watched this episode i gept rewinding it to the part that it played this over and over :)

  • step 1: load this song

    step 2: smoke a joint

step 3: Listen to this track

step 4: trip and think bro ;)

  • this theme reminds me of LEGACY OF KAIN SOUL REAVER

    O_O

  • this would fit so perfectly as a maya temple theme :P

  • @McDenis5678 Or some Nepal monastery :O

  • Totally in the category of epic sound as Akira

  • Only appropriate question: are you happy?

  • @Clarinerd617 No one will hand you happiness on a silver plater, you have to strive for it yourself.

  • To expound, the Shinji Ikari that exists in your mind is only one Shinji Ikari. There are also the Shinji Ikari in Misato Katsuragi's mind, the Shinji Ikari in Asuka Sohryu's mind, the Shinji Ikari in Rei Ayanami's mind, and the Shinji Ikari in Gendo Ikari's mind. All are different Shinji Ikaris, but each of them is a true Shinji Ikari. Your fear is of the Shinji Ikaris who exist in the minds of others.

  • One of the BEST anime with the WORST ending. XD

  • @hjmndj I beg your pardon? Both of the endings are smashing; each in its own way. Better go and watch 'The Prisoner' and we will see how much you will understand after watching the final episode, mister :]

  • @Didgaraya You DO understand the "TV ending" really only just takes place DURING End of Evangelion. It's during instrumentality, when/if you re-watch Evangelion, I suggest you watch End of Evangelion, the swithc to the last two episodes during instrumentality, will probably make a bit more sense. Revolution of Evangelion has a comprehensive guide on their wiki.

  • @Boohahascaredyou I agree with you, but I must point out that whether or not EoTV and EoE are the same is quite debatable, and there are those who staunchly defend the opposing point of view.

  • @Boohahascaredyou Well, that's the general consensus, anyway. Really, it's up to you how you interpret it. "End of Evangelion" was a bigger-budget "fuck you" to the otaku of the time for not liking what Hideaki Anno thought was a perfectly good ending. Really, End of Evangelion was just a satisfying, spoon-fed ending so that people didn't have to think so much. You may accept or reject it as you please.

  • OH I GOTTA HAVE THIS ON MY IPOD! TOTAL EAR FUCK!!! XDDD

  • Aweesome =]

  • This song... gets me... strangely... arroused...

  • Rei: "You are yourself, I am me And I am also me" Oh god these two episodes pissed me off with the philosophical shit.

  • here we go... delving into the mind of a fucking insane 14 year old who masturbates infront of unconsious girls and talks to himself and yells weird shit while being questioned by a wobboling soba noodle that can speak with his voice...WTF is wrong with this anime?

  • @Kookaburra00 Technically...nothing. I think it's a pretty accurate description of what actually would happen to a teenager forced to fight monsters week after week.

But you're right, the show is STILL pretty screwed up haha.

  • behold the birdman....kikanok....

  • Man, Evangelion really made me question my own existence...

  • Mindfuck it was...the first time round. IF you want an analysis, all it is about is how Shinji can't trust anyone who betrays him or his feelings, Asuka can't trust anyone when her mother couldn't even love her, and Rei is a man-made thing with brains who doesn't understand how humanity works. The end. That's about the extent of it all.

  • i gotta get it out of my head...

i gotta get it out of my head......

GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!!

    STOP RAPING MY MIND!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can totally see some old Japanese guy meditating in a dimly lit room with this song in the background just as he attains oneness with the universe and starts floating off the ground and glowing.

  • This songs reminds me "Ishbal" and "Myaokudo" from Full metal Alchemist OST

  • Oh look...it's the mindfuck song...

  • Oh crap it's the mind rape song! O.O

  • @cartmansfat123 ONe of many, my friend. ^^

  • Scary.. oh yeah!! I love evangelion! (and azuka)

  • This is one of my favorite introverted songs :O

love it, EVANGELION I CAN HONESTLY SAY HAS SOME OF THE MOST INCREDIBLE MUSIC FOR AN ANIME I HAVE EVER HEARD :O

  • Soultaker. I can only say one word.

  • I'd love to see Tool play this song.

  • Add in a creepy violin, and you have a full fledged mind RAPE.

  • And so it begins...

  • great music to make a sandwich to!

  • What is this I don't even.

  • Yeah, an insane sandwich!

  • @U2oobfan LOLWUT?!

  • @U2oobfan - If the sandwich represents, like, your mother or something, yeah.

  • @U2oobfan One slice ganja bread, other slice cocaine bacon, another slice morphine eggs...

  • @U2oobfan or 2 eat the sandwitch LOLz

  • @Great song to roll a jay to!

  • This is crazy....!

  • Geez, midfuck time owns.

  • WELCOME...TO THE MIND FUCK!!!

  • @narutodudeman

THIIS ^_^ ! Quoted for truth!

  • Who is this here? There? Beyond me here?

  • Amo a Evangelion! O////o

    xD

    Gracias por subirlo, eh ^^

  • Love this song, is Evangelion...

  • It is.

  • Do you think the title is referencing borderline personality disorder?

  • could be, evas full of little phycological references

  • it does. it is in fact a reference to shinji's borderline personality disorder. by the way, asuka is clearly histrionic and rei has schizoid personality disorder.

  • Asuka really have atention problems really XD..by the way..this song it's kind of weird it just makes me think I'ts an strange sensation..just damn can't explain..whatever I think you understand me guys

  • really i always saw shinji as avoidant, if he was borderline he would have self harmed also asuke is narcissist

  • no... rei's just one of many human clones created by dr. Ikari. other than that, top score!

  • @anzaifuyue yes the case of rey ayanami borderline between being and not being.

  • Oh, this is the song I was looking for when I commented on .. On the one that sounds like this, but from soundtrack #3.

  • I guess the song you're talking about is "do you love me?" from the evangelion OST 3

  • it sounds like the birth of a celestial womb

  • It feels like PsyTrek.

    Hello there, QuickTime.

  • I find this scary somehow...

  • You aren't alone. Though more than anything, it's disturbing. If I let it, it will leave me feeling cold and emotionless. that it can have that sort of effect shows that it is indeed a good song though.

  • Thanks for uploading

  • I agree with JackMarci. It is cosmic sound. Very relaxing and deep.

  • If you are disagree, keep it for yourself

  • I sounds like the core of consciousness.

  • one of the best in EVA

  • This song is beautiful!Sounds like the origins of the earth.

  • Well said.

  • or a tmeple!

  • this sounds like the music you would hear when ur playing final fantasy or something when u enter a new place or a dungeon.
