  • wow!!! tone!

  • What do you mean “rumours”? It was Peter Green’s Les Paul.

  • I couldn't be playing those guitars AT ALL if I owned that place! I'd be broke, 'cuz I'd keep all of 'em.

  • damn! just the best les paul review i've ever seen!

  • no question about it. that's a phenomenial guitar. If I had several thousand extra $'s, I would get it.

  • dude chappers seriously please tell me what you are playing at 7:54 plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • well it sounds amazing and i know its in drop d i would love to find a tab to it!!!

  • LOL Stairway Denied!!!!!

  • whats the song at 7:54 plzzzzzzzzzzz

  • @nfsboi34 I don't know what it's called but it's one of his own songs.

  • what song was being played at 7:54 i would love to know plz..... thank you

  • "peter Green's Les Paul' was GARY MOORE'S for way longer than Green owned it.

I have always thought it was incredibly rude for people to overlook Gary for Peter when it comes to that guitar.

  • Didn't know it costs 6,000 pounds for a god guitar. Thanks Gibson!

  • 5:50 - "NOOOOO" hahaha!

  • Youtube i DEMAND a Love button for this video. NOW!!!!

  • This video is painful. Dream guitar; so out of reach.

  • @alipbob Dude, just sell your car and buy it... Walking to work is healthier anyway, me, im gonna ride my bike ;) (and sell my gf's car, got stolen they say)

  • @joaomosc Hahah!

  • *Sign* No stairway to heaven. Waynes world party on

  • *Sign* No stairway to heaven. Waynes world party on

  • gibson should focus on building guitars for players again, not for collectors!

  • Chappers: NO STAIRWAY FOR YOU!!!

  • @mikeygheetarz No Stairway? Denied!

  • the expression on chappers face @3:35 is priceless.... actually its £6000 of relic'd cognitive dissidence...

  • Sorry meant "guy"

  • Gu from the Eagles, you mean Don Felder?

  • @stywaffle626

    Probably Joe Walsh..

  • @ZickFingerboards

but Don Felder has his Les Paul Custom(Hotel California model), and Joe Walsh(who rocks) sadly doesn't:(

  • The tone at 7:35 is perfect for the riff in paradise city after the intro.

  • Trying to figure out how to get one on a workin mans salary! Gotta have a dream!!

  • i am so sorry , this is an amazing guitar but have nothing with 59 les paul guitars

to mach money you need to put on this one to bring it sounds like ther reel thing

    very bad pickups and electronics

    this guitar cost over 9000$

good electronics and pickups are 550$

corect abr1 bridge is about 200$

i put on my friends standart les paul a new electronics that read a bit over 500k and new pickups , stephen design paf and new corect bridg and now it souds mach beter then this one

  • where's the demo guys? too much talk!

  • That guitar is severely beat up

  • 5:51 just made me crack up so much! hahaa!

  • Very beautiful guitar

  • Me thinks that was based off of Jimmy Page's 59LP. Just watched a video on it recently, and it seems to be very, very similar.

But like all high end Gibbons, er, Gibson's, it's WAAAAAYYY too pricey.

  • I like the sound of this Guitar but Rob please if you buy a 50s or 60s Tribute Gibson Put in a Babicz Full contact hardware Bridge and some Bumble bee Capacitators (sorry don´t know how the word is written) and it sound very close to this one and you are around 1000€ soo ... you should try it I have done it and it´s awesome !!

  • What a joke! 6000 pounds. Gibson.......overpriced pieces of hype!

  • @TheGtrGeek Its an exact replica of a guitar that would normally be worth 400.000$. I say thats good value.

  • wow 4:04 what a beautiful top... I love les pauls... I'm so so so jealous right now

  • Jesus H Christ

  • what was with 5:50?

  • lol when he started playing stairway ^^

  • My local shop owner has an original 59 les paul. I got to hear it played once and it blew my mind...

  • 4:55 As soon as I heard that first note I thought of ZZ Top...

  • SALUT A TOUS JAI LA MEME GUITARE A VENDRE L'originale

avec son certificat d'authenticité avec son etui

    si sa interess quelqun

  • hmm... is it a real 59' or a reissue?

  • @AmnellAndreas reissue, but exactly like the 59 one

  • why don't they just make ALL their guitars as good as the '59?

  • @TopGunJAB Because nobody would be able to buy one. We can barely afford the good ones nowdays.

  • at 1:51 we can see that you love guitars

  • Check out Les Paul JDM series!

  • Looks very much like "Pearly gates" Billy Gibbons les Paul

  • So why can't Gibson make all their guitars like this?

  • 50's neck is thick, this is a '59 neck, much thinner. Definitely shreddable. Nice guitar, they're still asking too much for average quality though. Looks just like my Epiphone Elitist, and I bet you'd like the Elitist better, Chappers, even though the Elitist necks are definitely more 50s than '59. Get your hands on one!

  • What Fender amp is that

  • I'd be happy to even TRY on of these holy grails of guitars!

  • at 7:03 when he flicks her up to rythm my head feels like it wants to explode!! i am seriously not joking, like seriously.

  • Even over my buggered little computer speakers you can tell how special that guitar sounds, especially when it's unplugged. Jeebus!

  • Congratulations djdyer1 on your purchase of an incredible guitar... I too have purchased one of these and agree that it plays like no other Les Paul. Here's to many years of enjoyment - take care of it...

  • Haha InterestingLee... that cracked me up.

  • Oh it's a reissue. How does it compare to a genuine 59?

  • They ;have just described my beloved 08' Les paul Traditional plus. Just perfect. Rock on!. That 59 has a strat tone vibe about. Just a beaut.!!

  • That one looks like its modeled after joe bonamassa's LP

  • The Stairway intro sounded so beautiful on this masterpiece, shouldn't have been interrupted!

  • total eargasm

  • That's just killer. Even though, it sounds way better with a clean sound.

  • What song is he playing at 7:27?

  • @TheOmair1234 Foxi Lady

  • i'm glad these are sold ,as i was just about to go out and rob a bank

  • LOLL 1:54 guy on the right

  • What's the name of the song at 6:58???

  • I know its a bit naff to post here when I actually bought the thing, but it has already given me a huge amount of pleasure so I could not resist. By far the best guitar I have ever played. The tone and sustain are incredible. Thanks to all at Andertons for being so patient with me whilst I put it up against all the other top-end Les Pauls in the shop, and for not keeping it for themselves! Click on my name to see more (be kind!)

  • @djdyer1 Monkey Lord Approved \m/

  • 3:20 sounded a little like little wing by SRV

  • Couldn't have been Jimmy's LP could it? Give a tug on the tone knob?

  • Oh my God....

What a fucking sound with the (fender?) amp on the left. Amazing clean tone, beautiful crunch. What a guitar!!!! Thanks for that moment.

  • It's awesome!!! The sound, the lows, the armonics, everything is perfect! i'll start to sell all my gear to get one lol

  • 3:07 Goose pimples...

  • 5:46 hahahaha

  • 1:45 "This guitar is a part of Gibson series called "The Collector's Choice"

    translation: I can't afford it.

3:34 confirmation of the above statement...

  • 5:27

    Mr. Brownstone?

  • I havent played it but I dont think any guitar could be 6,000$ special

  • Odd how Rob started off playing clean, and Capt. Lee played with distortion.

  • I'd have been tempted to sell a lot of stuff to buy this, before I could let it get taken by a customer. It's not everyday that you have the best Les Paul you've ever played in your hands!

  • stairway to heaven opening... - Chappers " NOOOOOOOOO"

  • Look at the flame on that one.. I mean it's quite unbelievable.. just listen! Listen for a minute... the sustain, listen to it!

  • @gerby90 What you need to realize is, these amps go to 11.

  • @gerby90 i could if it was plugged in

  • Comment removed

  • @qaws12321able You can go 'n have a bite and, you'd still be hearin' that one..

  • @gerby90 I.. I'm not hearing anything..

  • @Nickpatient You would, though... if it were playing

  • MY GOD!!!...That thing sounds AWESOME through that fender Amp!!!

  • So it has all the features/perks that a Les Paul standard SHOULD have.

  • The nonsence about Stairway to heaven being Satanic is Bullshit .. This is Because I have listened to Stairway to heaven backwards and No I did not get FUCKED by SATAN

  • 4:08 "Tom Murphy" so thats what he's been doing since he left Periphery...

  • It's beautiful! :D I wouldn't mind owning one.

  • I BID ONE DIME, SOME POCKET LINT, AND MY SOUL!!

    ...

    So may I have it?

  • Comment removed

  • So why exactly shouldn't you play stairway to heaven? Is it something to do with the "Satanic" message?

  • @LifeLongGamer It's a joke from Wayne's World.

    No Stairway? Denied!

  • @Wagtacular Yeah, Thats what I thought :)

  • @LifeLongGamer It's the most overplayed song ever by guitarists.

  • i want to see phil x play that guitar

  • Comment removed

  • Looks great except for the worn bits, can't see why people want something that looks old and knackered, imagine if rolls royce did this. Here's Keith Moons Sig roller complete with pondweed and a slight smell of algae.

  • @Teguvas Exactly. The fact that they painstakingly relic'ed these re-issues is a shame. If you want the battle scars, get to the front line.

  • @Teguvas doesnt work with cars. although your example sounds really cool

  • @Teguvas You're absolutely right. Relicing is for complete wanna-be's, just like signature gear.

  • 5:47

I was like... "AAH yeah this is a beautiful lick" then Chappers came in and ruined the whole thing :O wtf

  • could you make a vid about prs tremonti vs gibson les paul? great vid

  • 5:50 - Intervenshun!

  • Just A Beauty!!!!!

  • Both these guitars are now sold - I just met the guy buying the one we featured in this video. He seemed like a nice chap who was going to give this guitar a good home, so I said my goodbyes, shed a small tear, and let her go. Bye Bye.

  • @AndertonsMusic It was anyway too good guitar for me... :(

  • Comment removed

  • @AndertonsMusic Would putting EMG 60 (Bridge) and 81 (neck) pickups in this guitar ruin it?

  • @DeatrusGaming Off course it would. A good les paul diserves passive pickups.

  • @DeatrusGaming Well. Yes. Yes is would.

  • @AndertonsMusic I've never had a Les Paul and at 17, I haven't got £6000. But if an Epiphone Les Paul Standard can sound even half as wonderful, I will be a happy lad, If not, then I shall have to spend my life in prison for robbing a bank!

  • Oh fuck... that's nice. Now where is my 6 grand...

  • "Having resurfaced in the early 80's at one of the first Dallas guitar shows, "Goldie" has graced the collections of several noted burst aficionados including Vic Da Pra and Tom Wittrock, the guitar is currently in the care of an anonymous collector and on loan to Gibson Custom."

  • can u post the settings and effects used in the final demenstration while lee is playing

  • This one sounded so good.... Stick wants

  • Beautiful instrument! Do a demo of the collectors choice #1, Gary Moore guitar!

  • Whats the fretboard on this one? Is it a normal rosewood or with the trouble Gibson have had recently is it a baked maple? Either way it sounds fantastic, Loved the tone and playing from Lee

  • I have no problem spending 6K on a guitar, it's my bank manager who takes exception!

  • Do you think it's based on jimmy page's les paul in "it might get loud" he pulls out a similar les paul in that saying that's his best guitar.

  • @kingdarko That's because your bank manager wants to take your savings, put them on the stock market (after taking a fat commission) and then loose them for you. Then when you ask him for them money back he will tell you that the value of investements can go down as well as up . . buy the guitar and cut the leech out of it

  • @straylight99 You replied to the wrong person :D

  • @kingdarko D'oh!!!

  • Hey Rob you talked about how the action was the same at the nut as well as well down the fretboard. How do you adjust a guitar to have this? I am almost 100% sure that my truss rod is in good shape and my saddles are pretty low to the guitar but the action is only low at the nut at the end of the guitar. Around the 15th fret the strings are much higher than at the first fret.

  • one cool guitar

  • My friend thought you tried to sell this guitar too hard Chappers. I pointed out the arrow in his knee.

  • I was under the impression a 58 neck was the fat neck known as the 50's neck and a 59' should be a transitional year between fast 60's necks and 50's fat neck. So thats why its not as fat as a 50's neck.

  • The rrp from Gibson is a bit steep. I have a friend with an original '59 he purchased from the states for an amazing US$5000. Might have better luck trying to find an old relic rather than spending the dosh for the collector's re-issue.

  • I used to follow Chappers despite the fact that he stopped being a musician 2 years ago, peddled cheap ass foreign guitars to unsuspecting teenagers on the pretense that ebony is the great equalizer, and spent some of my own money on his products to support him, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • @projectgoatse I haven't heard any bad reviews really on any of the guitars but they aren't like U.S. or handmade high end guitars so they do deserve some slack, but I wandered how many really serious guitarist have given them honest straight up reviews. What was your experience? I know he has some people like Ben signed to his guitars and Ben is a good guitarist but money talks ya know. Well just wandered what was up.

  • Wait, this was made in the 1959 or it's a badass replica?

  • @wtfwasthatt It's a replica

  • "Nooo..." - There used to be a sign in one of my local music shops with a warning.. "No stairway to heaven" LOL Sweet guitar!

  • Capt'n: "Best Les Paul you've ever played?"

Rob: *casually* "Yeah, yeah by miles."

Acted like it's no big deal hahaha, you two were so calm about, I would be freaking out if it was the best LP I've ever played, I've played alot of les pauls haha

  • By far the best Les Paul I've heard you guys demo. Wonderful wonderful job!

  • I dont see why they had to copy a damaged guitar, or why they couldn't copy it as new. I would be hesitant to say the least about buying a pre damaged guitar.

  • @maneatingtoilets look at it this way, if you bump it, it won't make it any less valuable!

  • whats that from 7:53 ?

  • Superb!!! Love it!!! One thing... What is that I took an arrow to knee thing???

  • @juca2929 skyrim

  • 5:46 xD Laughed my Ass off

  • Woah that tone is lush! Awesome axe!

  • Isn't Slashs's fav main one a '59 ?

  • lol lee playing stairway in heaven (robs running 100mph say nooooooo)

  • I used to follow the crowd with repetitive, ubiquitous, meme comments - but then I took an arrow to the knee...

  • @RobChappers So, I heard you're addicted to Skyrim... =D

  • @RobChappers Fus Roh DAH!

  • @RobChappers Then you must be dragonborn!

  • @RobChappers lol, I've seen this arrow to the knee comment everywhere on youtube recently, what is it about?

  • @peteq1972 it is from skyrim, sometimes a guard talks to you and say: I used to be an adventurer like you, but then I took an arrow in the knee.

  • @ghdvd Oooooh right, i had to google skyrim too, lol. I see now. Thanks, looks good.

  • I used to be able to afford a guitar like this, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • So chappers, after watching the beginning of this video I was gonna make a smart comment asking "well is this a good les paul?" then.... I took an arrow to the knee.

  • Why don't they just make Les Pauls like that? It just seems like Gibson have seen the silly chancer behavior of Paul Reed Smith.

  • @randomtwit Ah cheers man! :D

  • Hey Chappers and Captn,

I know what you guys mean about that crazy low action. I used to have a Les Paul Custom Black Beauty, it played like nothing I had played before or since. I stupidly sold it. It was so played in the finish was completely worn away when I got it, and it was what was called a fretless wonder (ie. frets so low that they where there for only looks. literally even with the fretborard). Man I miss that guitar.

  • You should definitley do a comparison with a real 1959 les paul
