If your child breaks an arm and you have no insurance, what happens? You pay a lot of money for the treatment, then you break a leg, you pay again. But you can't work, how do you pay the bills? Then you wife finds a lump in her breast, now where are you? Up shit creek!
In this country you go to hospital and get the treatment, MAX waiting time, 18 weeks but as it's cancer probably less..

I really do not know why people think health care is better in the EU. Example. Octo mom. Unemployed on welfare in Calif. Pumps out 8 babies all go incubators and survive. In France they do not do this, cost to much (those death panels). In France those 8 babies would have died.

The most common cause of bankrupcy in the US is from healthcare bills, you'd better have a good job with good insurance, or you'd just better not get ill.

It takes 2 minutes on google to find about 14%, about 46 MILLION do not have insurance. So it's true, most Americans do have it, but it's a poor result for the supposedly riches country in the world.
If you loose your job, you may well lose your insurance, and if you aint got a job, you can't afford insurance.
In this country the money comes of taxes and goes to the health service. No middle man taking their cut, no vast admin sending oit bills and paying them.

There has been problems with waiting time for operations in the past but they are being dealt with and are coming down. No system is perfect, there is rationing of care in the US too. It's just wrapped up differently.

I agree that we need to make it more affordable, but government involvement in ANYTHING, creates waist, bureaucracy and preferred treatment for those who can afford it.. Some honest questions. Is there any health care system that does not have government involvement? Is it properly funded? Does it provide good care to most of the populace? Can those utilizing it afford to do so? Can everyone in the populace afford it? How is this system overseen to insure that those providing the care know what they are doing and are providing the best care possible care to the best of their ability? Is there any known health system that does not have preferential treatment?
