  • their song "love hurts" is anthem.

  • for Maco

  • Doesn't matter either way just as long as all the songs from the soundtrack are even, volume/timbre-wise.

  • @emmy6423 That's fucking awesome.

  • 1 pic? What kind of video is that with 1 frozen pic?

  • @PharaohZeus enjoy the music

  • @PharaohZeus Do you REALLY have to ask?

  • yup

  • This is my definite "Damn, I stuck in traffic." song..

  • this song reminds me to "this month messiah", "changing times", "Big Dogz Gonna Howl" and some other Nazareth songs...not so original...

  • @nazzare79 In other word's.... your not another suitable case for treatment ? : )

  • Had to leave my thanks on the Naz track, cheers mate!

  • So say I as well, I grew up with this.

  • A well done soundtrack indeed. I always upgrade it to the next level of listening. Save me, is there nothing I can do?

  • Awesome flick and an incredible soundtrack!!!!

  • @hevichevi74

Do you think Taarna was one hot toon girl? and did you know James Cameron is a fan of this movie and the magazine? he used it as some of his various inspirations to Avatar

  • I love the piano(1;57),it adds an element of realism to the insanity

  • 2 hits and this song is great

  • This song never fails to fuckin rock!

  • Gawd, this takes me back! Thanks for uploading, man!

  • The comic (magazine) was one of the best ever . . .

  • @joeyraccoon

Indeed! did you know many filmmakers like James Cameron, Guillermo del Toro, Zack Snyder, Luc Besson, Terry Gilliam, Ridley Scott and more are huge fans of that magazine comic? they used it as inspiration for their movies like Avatar, Fifth element, Blade Runner and more.

  • I got both the movie and the soundtrack in 96 as a graduation present from some buddies of mine. helped change my life.

  • "Ohhh. Nice job. How am I gonna fix this guy? He's fucked!

I guess we turned it up too high.

    eh Sorry, man.

You're sorry? What about me? I've gotta put this asshole back together!"

  • Rock on!!!!!

  • techno blacke

  • Can you help me? Help me get out of this place?

  • Fuck Techno, Hip Hop, Country, Samba ... this is the Sound !

  • Fantastic movie and great 2 soundtracks as well! i grew up with this movie since 93 when i was 12 watching it on TBS with Vampire Hunter D, Robot Carnival, American Pop and Rock and Rule as i adored them all. Who remembers them too? I even bought HM on video in 96 at 15 and later replaced it on DVD when i was 19 after my high school gradutation and i owned the soundtrack at 16 and now own the score.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Well, lucky you are. You didn't have to wait very long for the dvd.

It wasn't finally released on vhs until 1996 (so you were just in time) and it wasn't released on dvd until 1999. Before that, it could only be seen occasionally very late at night on one of the big cable channels, so I, and many people, could only record our own copies that way. I was so glad to finally get the dvd with much better video/audio quality, plus the deleted scene.

  • @Billinois78

Of course i bought it in 96 when i was 15 plus the soundtrack, i had a huge crush on Taarna for the longest time as i would bang her and Cheetara. If you adore HM as i do, i recommend these movies: Akira, Ghost in The Shell, Princess Mononoke, Fire and Ice, Ninja Scroll, Twilight Zone The Movie, The Fifth Element, Willow, Nightmare Before Christmas, Wizards, Wicked City, Avatar, Conan, The Dark Crystal, Urotsukidoji, Blade Runner, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Starchaser etc.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I have almost all those on blu ray already :P

  • great movie and the best soundtrack i ever heard

  • This should be the soundtrack to my life

  • Sadly one of the top 10 underrated bands of the late 70's-80's. Awesome song. Rate it up there with 'Our Love Leads to Madness'.

  • Class of '84 ROCKS.

  • @Jetmechanic001 sick movie

  • @Jetmechanic001 the movie is 82 ish so i guess this song is from 82 or before?

  • @SoulshatterEvolution It came out in August of '81 and I couldn't find the song on any of Nazareth's records from '81 back. I'm pretty sure it was a one-off for the movie.

  • this one cool, cool song.

  • @jimmyshitbags right exactly, good sir

  • Awesome song from an awesome soundtrack! The movie and music bring back many great memories!

  • When did this song play in the movie?

  • @Loopen22 It's during the "So Beautiful, So Dangerous" story (the one where the 2 alien stoners snort the nyborg). Part of the song can be heard in the background just as the robot sees the chick boarded the ship. "Heyyy, who's the chick?".

Some of the Cheap Trick song plays just before that, while she's riding the tube (giggity).

  • @Billinois78 Oh, but only a very small bit of this song is played, followed by another small bit of the Trust song. Then "All of You" by Don Felder plays.

  • @Billinois78

She is a sexy Jewish chick.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yeaaaah buddy.

  • @Billinois78

You remember Vampire Hunter D, Rock and Rule, American Pop too? great adult animated movies eh?

  • I'll see what I can do for HQ. I've been busy with studying voice overs and such and have had little time, ill see what i can do on thursday.

  • Hellrazer12 - HQ would do this some justice....

  • @tooty008 FUCKING AMEN!!!!!! life after 92 just fucking stopped!!

  • CR...CR.CR..CRAZY....

  • This song fucking rockz!!!!! I remember this movie back in the early 80's wow where did time go??

  • fuck you

  • "uh.. oh yeah. instability field. you're stuck here."

  • classinc!

  • Hmm wondering if I should go HQ with these songs. Anybody want it that way?

  • hell yeah!

  • uh, yes of course!

  • It's probably for the best, Hellrazer12

  • @Hellrazer12 DO it.

  • @Hellrazer12 Yes, please! Thank you for uploading this amazing part of rock history.

  • @Hellrazer12 everyone wants it that way :D

  • @Hellrazer12 That would be great!

God, I love this song. :)

  • Dope bass line

  • this is the magazine i read, snuck a peek at the little bookstore in town, and the old bat working the counter looking over her glasses, "ARE YOU GOING TO BUY THAT!!"

  • fuck ya best nazareth song love the tripy vibe \m/

  • heh I like bugs bunny

  • nervosooooooo

  • This should be the UFC theme song

  • I'm a fan of both Japanese animation and American animation. In fact, I saw Heavy Metal a year after I first saw Akira.

  • Me too, HM is an awesome animated movie eh? do you think Taarna is a fine piece of animated ass? and do you think The Fifth Element got ideas from this movie?

If you enjoyed this movie, check out Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend. Another over-the-top nasty, sexy and ultraviolent piece of animation but with naughty demon tentacles, babes, rape, gore and every excess around that earned it's NC-17 rating. It's hentai all the way. And also see Wicked City and Ghost in The Shell.

  • I have Ghost in the Shell. I saw it a year after I saw Heavy Metal. I haven't seen Wicked City, but I've seen Urosukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend. And yes I definitely think that Taarna was a fine piece of animated ass. I also think that Luc Besson borrowed alot from Heavy Metal when he made the Fifth Element.

  • The Fith element has big Pieces of this movie. Enough that it is awesome like the movie.

  • anime cannot compare to good old fashioned american animated rock opera! the original Heavy Metal will continue to be the standard set for all other wannabees in this genre.Sorry Japan-a day late and too many dollars wasted!

  • Comment removed

  • awesome.

  • inspirationaly crazy!!!!

  • Loved the Movie and the Soundtrack,,Saw it at the Drive In,,wicked cool

  • I used to rock this on a recorded cassette in my car back in high school. Killer fuckin' bass lines. Obviously Filter stole it for 'Hey Man Nice Shot"

  • And who thinks Heavy Meyal influenced The Fifth Element?

  • Bruce Willis was totally "Harry Canyon" (Taxi Driver)

  • Me too, and do you think Heavy Metal compares to Japanese animation? the Japanese do make mature audiences cartoons that are like Heavy Metal such as "Akira", "Ghost in The Shell", "NInja Scroll", "Wicked City", "Golgo 13 The Professional", "Vampire Hunter D 1 & 2", "Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend", "Perfect Blue" etc.

  • the cops were even the same

  • "Taxi Driver" does have similarities to "The Fifth Element."

  • For Heavy Metal fans: James Cameron is making another Heavy Metal movie. :)

  • You mean heavy metal 2000? or a NEW new one

  • why??? other than he needs money, it's going to be crap, even K. E. couldn't do it justice with that abortion Heavy Metal 2000.

  • Well Zack Sydner (Watchmen, 300, Dawn of the Dead 2004), Jack Black, David Fincher, Rob Zombie, Gullermo Del Toro ("Pan's Labyrinth" and "Hellboy 1 & 2") with Gore Verbinski ("Pirates of the Caribbean") are gonna helm it. I hear it will offer different animation such as 2D, CGI, Clay Animation, Stop Motion, Japanese Animation and more.

  • This is the best soundtrack in history.

  • Who Made Who?

  • @Jogonpants Certainly one of them.

  • nazareth had some of the best album covers

  • Best driving song EVER on those long nighttime rides.

Lay back and let the groove take you.

  • thanks for posting this song , did they only realase this song on this soundtrack??i've been looking everywhere for it.also have you heard the album "the newz" its kick ass!!!

  • I just bought the newz. I love it! To answer your question, I believe it was only released on this soundtrack. I have just about everything Nazareth ever released on cd.

  • BELIEVE!

  • fuck u retard its the movie heavy metal and this is 80s metal if u ever lived before

  • Wrong. This is 70's metal. 80's metal was reinvented pop.

  • lol if you've seen the movie its at a part where they play this song when a giant ship that fucking smiling and looks like kirby lol

  • Holy shit how many times I and my buddies got faked up on a dimer to this movie!

  • I forgot about this song. Great soundtrack. Saw them play this live in 82. Very cool band indeed. I think they opened for Billy Squire on that tour.

  • Good Job HellRazer112

  • One thing what I love about Nazareth is that they can perform a wide diversity of music and still be great at everything they do, these guys deserve to be HUGE in the US, they deserve to be as well known as bands like KISS, Aerosmith & AC-DC.

  • The best of a great album (and movie). Lyrics must relate to the thought-provoking late 1960s British TV show 'The Prisoner.'

  • Great song! A+!

  • i saw this movie when it just came out in a big theatre in Guadalajara ,Jal. Mexico, back in the early 80ths, when the world was a magical place to live in.

  • Is he not right here folks? Agreeing with you all the way, pal! :)

  • i wish i could have been in my teenage years during the 70s

  • @rosencrown This was not in the 70's. It was around 1980 or 1981?

  • I agree, Nazareth does rule...

  • I was a Roadie for these guys not to long ago..

  • share your most fun moment...

  • It was mostly me and a bunch of other guys in Idaho standing around moving crap for them while making jokes like, "Initiate the Nazareth Project" and "Code Nazareth! CODE NAZARETH!".. Ahh, good times.

  • Cool. Thanks for the quick reply.

  • nazareth fucking rules!!!
