  • Out of the great depression came the most motivated work force the globe had ever seen and why? You have to do more than just want it bad. You have to cease, earn, keep, and with a little patience wait your turn for a place in society. If you lack at any of these then just get in line and take a "nickel and dimed" number. those spots are always in high demand. Dont complain or whine afterwords though.

  • These edited clips are biased at the least for the purpose of enraging the younger or underpaid classes like myself. What he is saying is that we, the "People" have become a nation of narcissistic whiners that believe happiness is a right and not a privelage.

  • ITS PSYCHOLOGICAL!!!

  • Mc Cain is a good example of someone with PSYCHOLOGICAL problems. Its easy to said that problems are psycological when you had a lot of money on the bank.

  • Basically the McCain campaign thought they could deceive Americans into thinking Republicans didn't turn our economy into a recession - the recession is just psychological they said. Well it wasn't and 8 years of Bush's tax cuts and sky high pork barrel spending didn't help our economy get out of a recession.

  • damn this guy is stupid or pure evil. one thing is for shure... THIS GUY ALMOST WAS YOUR PRESIDENT! obama is shit better but this guy would have been a nightmare.

  • McCain should live in the shoes of people who have real struggles economically, who have no home or only one home to worry about ~ psychologically he wouldn't be voting for himself.

  • I dont understand why we have to retire at 65 yet McCain can work forever! Shouldnt he be collecting social security or on a pension somewhere?

  • McHoover

  • macain is a toss-pot, he'll die in office, hopefully, and his fucking misses, needs some good dark dick, the ugly bag, o, not to mention john's face is falling off, asshole

  • By the way, according to McCain, I shouldn't whine about my health care premiums being raised by $300 a month? I pay $700 a month to insure my wife and son - half my paycheck. So is that in my head? Again, we need Obama to help straighten out this mess.

  • Most definitely not, my friend. That's why I, John McCain, am going to offer your boss a tax break, allowing him to reinvest his earnings in his company. And let me tell you, my friend, some of that may trickle down to you.

  • Isn't the role of a President to empower the people? I'm not voting for this monkey. Obama all the way.

  • That is why we have to Vote for OBAMA!! and Biden

  • We do not need another 4 years of Bush. Please send John McBush Depends coupons to send him the message that "we do not want anymore shit". Please pass this message on.

  • Obama and his campaign team need to use this as an ad campaign against McCain to get more voters attention that McCain doesn't know squat about the economy!

  • theHellwithPolitics,

Isn't it ridiculous that the Anti-Obama crowd is still stuck on whether or not he's a Muslim, while their candidate makes statements like this one, displaying a complete lack of concern for ordinary Americans?

    -TZZ

  • They can't come up with anything to defend their candidate, so they have to make false remarks in attempts to put fear into voters minds about senator obama. What's also funny is mccain with his ridiculous ads, have you seen his most recent one? "blame senator obama for high gas prices". Talk about desperation.

  • Don't worry be happy- where have I heard this before?

  • my problems ain't psychological, they're because of a lack of steady income.

  • Exactly!!!!

  • Camaroz28fatbuttgabe,

No, I'm sure your lack of a steady income is just psychological. Just like high gas prices, rising unemployment, and failing banks.

    Duh.

    -TZZ

  • This is the best news ever! I am not going to let filling up my tank ever get me down again! This whole time it was purely psychological. I'm so dumb I just didn't realize it!

  • Great video - thanks for pointing those quotes out.

  • john mccain

    is a

    lunatic

  • I'm relieved; I thought it was a REAL recession, so glad to know it's all in my head. Maybe the last eight years was all just a bad dream; maybe Gore became president, maybe there was no Iraq war, no housing crises, no high gas prices, maybe I do have health care, and a job and can send my kids to college. Maybe McCain's not running for president . . .

  • Mcbullshit & Phil"I need to hit of" Gram surely putting their foot in their mouths. They also thinking nobody is listening to their mistakes. Come November, these two will get the shock of their lives. Oh well back on the bullshit express to tell the next set of lies.

  • How strange that McCain denounced Gramm's comments but he said the same thing himself. It's all in our mind's...Bastards!!!

  • Obama criticized him even though Obama said Americans are bitter and cling to bigotry, guns and religion. Double Standards?

  • Nope. Obama legitimized their bitterness rather than saying they are bitter because they are whiners.

  • Gramm clarified it in the 3 and a half minutes between the time he said "This is a mental recession" and "We've become a nation of whiners."

  • Obama said his hope message was not catching on in the rust belt because people have had it bad for too long there and they don't trust politicians making promises. That makes them bitter and makes them vote on other issues besides the economy. The only problem was that he used the word 'bitter'. Gramm however said the bad economy was just in the head of spoiled Americans and that they are a nation of whiners. I can see a subtle difference not only in the context but words themselves.

  • So it's okay to call people bigots because they're bitter about their lives, but it's not okay to say that the recession is all in our heads because, by definition, we are not in a recession due to growth, albeit weak, over the last 2 quarters?

  • Obama never called them bigots. And Gramm called America a nation of whiners. You aren't yet in a technical recession but so what? Most Americans are making less money now than they did before Bush. If you factor in population growth and inflation the economy is terrible. America is now 14th in wealth which is it's lowest ranking it has ever been. And all it has to show for it is a $10 trillion debt. Sorry you can't whitewash Bush's economic record.

  • Obama: "...cling to their guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them..."

Definition of bigot: "a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices"

In 1999 the median household income was $46,236.

While it fell into the 45,000s in 01 and 03, in 06 the median household income was $48, 201. That's the latest statistics to come out of the Census Bureau.

I'll give you the debt thing, though. That was dumb.

  • Well they DO cling to guns and religion and antipathy to people who aren't like them. If you define that as bigot that is fine with me. Obama was explaining why they vote on these issues instead of economic issues. Because politicians have never been able to deliver. Gramm however said America was a nation of whiners because the economy is in his opinion good. Which it is not. In real terms household income declined (inflation!) and you know it. Now that is TERRIBLE! 8 years LOST!

  • ThreeNineNine, do your numbers take into account inflation during the period you listed?

  • Well first of all, the only reason why we are NOT in a recession is because of the bipartisan stimulus package released by Congress. And even then, our economy grew a fraction of a fraction of one percent. And, by the way, Barack Obama's the one that supports another round of stimulus.

  • The stimulus is complete bullshit. We need to DRILL!! We need to stop borrowing money! We need to stop the huge inflation! Less gov spending is the way to go. Not socializing every idea that comes along, as Obama wants to do.

And no, my numbers didn't include inflation. I don't drink enough to figure out all that crap. I'm so sick of all this political bullshit. Everyone is to blame. Dems, Reps, Bush, Pelosi. Someone needs to break some fucking kneecaps.

And the DC gunban is bullshit.

  • ThreeNineNine,

I must admit you seem to have lapses of temporary amnesia. Which political party was in power before 2006? Which political party has been in control of the White House for the past six years? How can you even accuse Democrats of being fiscally irresponsible when Bill Clinton left us with a fiscal surplus, and George Bush is the one running a deficit?

  • I voted Dem in 06 because they were going to "change" things. So far it's just getting worse. And now they're standing in the way of everything.

I agree with the SPR. 10% per year for 5 years would be nice. I bet we can get oil out of the CS in 5 years. Hell, when Bush overturned the executive ban, oil dropped 3cents a gallon. Lift offshore drilling and it'll probably drop another dime or two. *crossed fingers*

  • To add on, the GOP regained control of the house in 1994 and did absolutely nothing positive up to 2006. The Dems take over with a VERY SLIGHT majority and anything they attempt to do, the president just vetoes it anyway. Republicans have no common sense and just try to lay the heavy hand down to try and make a point- too bad it has trickled down and affected everyone in a very bad way.

And drilling won't change a thing- we already have 60-90 some million acres we don't even use. How bout that?

  • Further, more drilling is certainly a solution. However, oil companies have more than 33MIL acres of land that they have not drilled; maybe they ought to show a real commitment to actually finding oil before we open natural wildlife refuges?

Even if we start more drilling now, it will take SEVEN YEARS for a single drop of that oil to reach consumers. What we can do right now is open 10% of the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve, drive down prices, and provide relief within TEN DAYS.

  • Your numbers represent a 4.2% increase in median household income over like, what, 12 years? That's compared to our current inflation rate of 5.0% per year.

But I completely agree. I'm sick of our politicians not fighting for our rights and our interests. I think it's time someone did something, you know?

  • Drill for what? Do you know that if we relied solely on the reserves that still exist in the US, we'd run out of oil in about 3 years?!

On top of that, the oil companies ALREADY possess 1000's of UNUSED oil leases for which they do not currently utilize. Ask yourself WHY they cry to drill in protected areas when they have what they need already?

  • Perhaps because those leases are for land that DOESN'T CONTAIN OIL!

We use 20.73 mill barrels a day, that's 7571.6325 mill a year or 7.57 billion. In the outer-continental shelf there's an estimated 66.6 - 115.3 billion barrels. That's about 9 years minimum that we can live off the offshore drilling ALONE. Sounds like enough time to make alternative energy to me.

  • right...Oil companies USUALLY apply for drill leases on land that their company Geologists say have no production capabilities!!

  • Like when Chevron leased the Destin Dome and drilled, finding a crapload of natural gas... and then got denied the right to actually take it out of the ground.

The leases are all different. Some allow them to drill, but not produce the oil/gas. Some allow them to search for it, but not drill.

  • ThreeNineNine,

What does natural gas have anything to do with what we're talking about, which is petroleum? According to the NGSA, the US produces over 85% of the nat. gas used in the country, and imports the rest from Canada- not exactly a sponsor of terrorism.

Regardless, I think the hilarious part of your story is that in 2002, the Bush Administration bought back the leases on the Destin Dome, saying the repurchase exemplified "personal stewardship and conservation partnerships".

    -TZZ

  • ThreeNineNine,

Where are these estimates coming from, and are they reputable? Most sources agree that the United States has enough petroleum reserves to last us three years- and that's a very optimistic view of the situation.

    -TZZ

  • I think that's what we're currently drilling. 3 years of 100% American oil at the rate we are consuming, about 9-10 years at the rate we're using it now.

Our biggest trade deficit right now is from oil. Wouldn't it be better to get x years of oil from offshore?

It'll probably take 10+ years to get decent electric cars. And the ones coming out soon require gas to recharge after 40 miles (Chevy Volt).

  • ThreeNineNine,

The problem is that we're not going to get that oil until seven or ten years down the line. Even if we start drilling tomorrow, not a drop of that stuff will reach market for seven years.

I totally agree that we need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, but more drilling is not a solution we'll see come to fruition anytime soon.

    -TZZ

  • ThreeNineNine,

But yeah, I'd love to see some electric cars with serious kick; I think we're going to see Ford and GM try to make advancements as fast as possible, especially with their current financial situations.

What about other sources? What do you think of alcohol-based fuels, fuel cells, hydrogen, etc?

    -TZZ

  • I haven't seen much from Ford, surprisingly.

Ethanol fuels are nice, but impractical. I watched a documentary on corn and it takes 1 gallon of gas to make 1.33 gallons of ethanol. Plus it raises food prices. I don't know enough about Fuel Cells and hydrogen, but if a company can get them to work and for a good price, that'd be awesome.

We just got a pipeline in Alaska in 5 years. And even if it's 7-10, better late than never. If we drill and don't need it, exports. :D

  • ThreeNineNine,

Man, our automakers are in serious trouble if they don't step it up and change. I mean, it's getting pretty ridiculous for them to keep marketing monster trucks.

I know, I've read a lot about that too. To be honest, I don't like Obama's support for ethanol, but I guess anything is better than more oil.

Yeah, I've seen documentaries, and apparently they have hydrogen stations in Sweden/Norway; that'd be pretty awesome.

I don't think I'll live to see the day we export oil.

    -TZZ

  • Yeah. I was thinking about that the other day. Years ago everyone was buying bigger and bigger cars which got like, half the miles per gallon. With that kind of increase in demand, it probably raised prices 25-50 cents in itself. Combine that with the devaluation of a dollar and it ends up at like .5-1USD. :-/

I don't agree with Obama on a lot of issues. Lately he's been saying some good things, too bad I can't believe him.

We'll be the least obese nation before we export oil. XD

  • you like to make a nuisance of yourself with the reply comments, eh?

  • Camarox28fatbuttgabe,

    Sorry.

    -TZZ

  • ThreeNineNine,

I don't know, I think it's a lot to do with the American life style, doesn't it? Like, our complete lack of ability to save more than ten cents, and a sort of short-sightedness that kind of ignores the future? But yeah, devaluation of the dollar has to stop.

And why can't you believe him? I mean, okay, I don't believe everything politicians say either, but at least I can listen to Obama without falling asleep.

Hahaha. x] Exactly. And we'll all love the French.

  • People can't save, use credit, and now the gov is bailing out Freddie and Fannie, they're helping Countrywide, yet they want to add another 10 cent tax on gas. I say raise gas tax by 1 cent for every 10 it goes down, but lower it 1 for every 10 higher.

He's flipped on almost everything in the past couple months. Jerusalem he flipped on in 24 hours. The DC Gun Ban he flipped on once the Supreme Court ruled it Unconstitutional. For "new politics" this seems more like the same squared.

    Oui.

  • ThreeNineNine,

The new figures came out for the Fred/Fan bailout. $25bil. And that's going directly into our deficit.

The problem with the gas tax is that it goes into funding for rebuilding our roads and bridges. I mean, every time a bridge collapse, we want to know why, and it's because we refuse to spend tax payer money here to help the tax payer.

Obama has 'flipped' on the DC gun ban. He has maintained that common sense gun control should be enforced.

    -TZZ

  • ThreeNineNine,

As for Jerusalem, I don't honestly think we can formulate a plan for ME peace until he becomes President and can sit down with the leaders of Israel, Fatah, and yes, even Hamas, to discuss peace deals.

That said, if Obama doesn't have "new politics"... then what does McCain have? I mean, he's just another politician, right? So, all we're saying is that Obama isn't a saint. He's on par with someone like John McCain.

    ...?!

    -TZZ

  • Louise12345,

Exactly a point I've tried to make!

    -TZZ

  • lets take the war on terror as an example.

If Obama gets elected whats he gonna do talk to the terrorist? since there such nice people?

    OH WAIT WAIT

    IVE GOT A GREAT IDEA!!

Lets make a system of dealing with international problems. Will get all the world leaders sit them down in the room and they can talk it out. ITS GENIOUS OBAMA CAN TALK FOR US THAT WOULD BE JUST DANDY!!

becuase thats seemed to work so far

    talking...

  • Yes it has worked so far ever heard of Gorbachev or even a more recent Kim Jong il? Actually what Bush did to north Korea was more than talking but actual appeasement. And diplomacy has certainly had more success than the abysmal foreign policy of George W Dumbshit and his friend McCain.

  • John McScumbags head is up his ass, not everyone has a rich wife they can lean on like that fat elitist schmuck.

  • Hahaha it's McCain who's running a wishfull thinking campaign. "The war will be over by 2013 and winning will pay of the debt". Those aren't policies but fantasy. And I pitty anyone stupid enough to believe them.

  • Four or eight years from now, our country will be unrecognizable if this man in the white house. God help us

  • Sounds like a great financial tip. Time to invest into pharmaceutical industry. Piles of pills are going to be delivered to cure that mental recession and all those psychological problems.

  • OBAMA 08

  • McCain is not a zombie but sometimes he acts like one.

  • Good montage, thanks!
