  • AMEN TO EVERYTHING U HAVE SAID

  • Let us be honest, sister. Stereotypes are born out of truths. If we do not want them to persist, then we must reclaim our image by changing our behavior and not living them out!

  • We are play listing this.

  • Thanks, your video is something I have known for years. this is the society that we live in. Ratings are always on our vices, but never on our virtues. You can find ignorant people in every race, ours is just more publicized. There are so many agendas out there designed for our failure. Racist as taken on a different form, instead of white hoods, it's three piece suits.

  • If antoine dodson was white YOU WOULD NOT GIVE A FUCK! My favorite is the leprechaun video made in florida that shows black people digging and looking for gold. Now that shit is funny. Its a joke people both are damn funny and there are plenty of videos making white men look dumb.

  • take a brake everyone with a common sense knows about this

  • NORMAL DOES NOT MAKE THE NEWS!!!

  • You aree a hotty, hows that for a sterotype lol. Wanta white boy friend?

  • Has your ambition, as a media producer yourself, ever been to correct the stereotypical Single Story of black people, or any people for that matter, that is shown by the media?

  • @OneSummerSky Yes, that was a mainstay for me. I had control over my shows content. If I had handled the Dodson story I would have left some of his remarks intact but I would have included an interview w/ the police, response from neighbors, tips on safety. And the description of the suspect would have been a graphic. To have Mr. Dodson speaking directly into the camera was suspect to me. It was not journalism, it was exploitation and I felt sorry for his sister. They didn't protect the victim.

  • This real talk, but really though, who really cares what other people say?

  • @mrgentlemen4u I do. When I hear people making racists statements in my presence I let them know that's not cool with me. Especially if they take it to another level. A lot of times I'm around people who graze racism. They go just so far without crossing into Hitlerish ideology. When they cross the line I say, "Wait the hell up." That's whay I do. Other people just let it hang and let it burn. Not me. I may not go buckwild or put on a show, but I will say, "hey, hold up". That's me.

  • @AuthorTanya Oh yhea, when its in my face thats a different story but on yt i dont let it bother me.

  • @mrgentlemen4u I understand where you're coming from.

  • Ya there are the exact same type of stereotypes with poor income white people, when you see coverage of a tornado, and they show some ignorant guy spouting off things about the event, sounding stupid. The only part I find bad, is you feel more upset with stereotypes that are towards Blacks. I find all stereotypes offensive, even ones that could be positive, or seen as such. But all sides peculate and all create divisions. The real fact is there is only one Race, the human race..

  • @ASexyChef I work with a group of white men that everybody never seems to do anything about and that is the homeless white males between the age of 18-50. Many have mental disorders, drugs or just have no jobs. You see what they call a Black issue and put it on some television for the world to prove we are lazy and have mo respect for anything. When they should let it be known, there are hurting white men out there. They don't do it because these guys are consider an embarrassment. I'm a BW.

  • @dlahug I think addiction is a horrible issue, effecting everyone, white, black, brown whatever.. I am not sure who has the claim to it, its not a black issue, I am honestly not sure how much the ratio is anymore, you see years ago there was a middle class which has been kind of destoried of late, and the issue was honestly, most likely is still true today but far less of an extreme. But if you look at the ratio, white, poor, middle class, rich, and than did the same with blacks.

  • @dlahugFor the longest time blacks still had a larger percent in the poor versed white, now honestly I think today the past 20 years, its more than likely its actual latinos but thats another issue I can go into dealing more with illegal immigrations and the social issue of that. And the fact it cause a lack of intergration into the rest of the US but thats a total differnt topic and if you wish to debate with me I will go into it..

  • @dlahug But as of Today, lol, we are all fucked!!!!!! Thats honestly what I see, and we are going to have to grasp that the people who own these powerful companies are taking over everything, we have no power, the last real union left, the teachers union, its like the last big power house for the honestly lower middle class, 30-60 is what teachers make more make around 30 in the US, once that one union is finaly destoried we are fucked. There will be nothing left of an organization of people..

  • @dlahug Honestly we can either stop seeing each other as white, black, latino, mexican, asian, indian, middle eastern. Whatever and grasp we are people, and we are the have nots, and our society cares nothing for us, our goverment cares nothing for us, they will right now bail out the banks at trillions of dollars, let men walk away after one year with 300 million after tanking the global ecomony, and they are going after teachers like we should be those bankers.

  • @dlahug Stop stop please for the love of God, or whatever, stop saying that no one cares about the white man, cause the truth is my friend no one cares about the poor man, and the only way, we will get someone caring about us, is if we gather once again on mass. And demand what the founders told us to do. We must white black brown start taking the streets, we must defend each other. You do not get it, they want us to fight over white brown black. Or pro-life abortion, or whatever.

  • @ASexyChef Collateral damage. This is a rich and poor society, no middle. In order to keep this going they need the poor to fight amongst each other. We do need to stop take a deep breath and show them, by stop blaming each other and start being more united as American people, not through race. This is something Martin Luther King knew and tried to unite and up lift people not just one race. We will start with us. I will be your friend.

  • @ASexyChef Where was the white middle class a couple of years ago when they still had their money? Were they also worried about the plight of the poor men regardless of color? Why is the former white middle class joining the "no one cares about the poor man" only now that they have lost their money? Is it because the black men's number (quantity) is needed in order to make a bigger fist? What happens when the white middle restores their positions...will they still remember their New Friends?

  • @dlahug They want us to to fight, and be stupid, and let them just keep going along, ignore the people and let whomever donates to them profit from them. While this country is going to hell, and its not Obama fault hell its not even bushes fault, its all of their faults from the governers of states,2 senates, 2 congress, and than to the president, its all their faults and its also all our faults cause we let them get away with this shit for 30 years. And if we do not start now it will get worse!

  • @ASexyChef You are a very wise person. The division is the affective way to keep control. Yes, I agree iwth you on the agenda of the leaders we choice with their deceit and lies to line their pockets with the money that should be going to people that need our help. I wish it could be a world that color doesn;t matter, but it is alive and well, just change from hoods to three piece suits. But this can not be covered up, unless they let many of poor whites get hammered along with us. It's called

  • Very good...

  • I m sure that some folks perpetuate hate by baggin on dudes like mr dodson, but we all know that hate is without reason, so no matter how homespun funny or intelectually foofoo he was it would spawn crap from the same buttheds. I talk like that too, when i'm goofin, and i was a journalism major, a white one. "they be rapin evbody up in here" friggin hilarious, as he meant it to be, using his humor to cope with a horrible situation. Nobody cool has issue with homeboy, i think he rocked it!

  • @frgnouch39 Oh yeah and some of these fools are right, you r smokin hot, even if a little too serious.

  • @AuthorTanya its not like stereotypes don't have anything behind them. Practically almost all stereotypes have some truth behind them. If you havent noticed a lot of people are idiots who are colored and its just the way that they are idiots that is different from white trash is what they put on tv.

  • its funny

  • man she is fine as hell, smart. I wonder if she is single??????......

  • Your facial features are incredible, u look stunning.

  • I'm definitely riding the fence on this one.

I partially agree with Tanya and the comments made on the video.

  • Do you really think people take one person of one race and put everyone in that category? Because I don't...Some people are just ignorant with their words.

  • "That's what people want to see, and that's what they show you." Exactly that.

  • Lighten up.

  • I am not ashamed of Antoine Dodson. He is funny because of what he said. I am black. I live in the South (Florida). I thought what happened to his sister was terrible. I think it's great that the news station went into the neighborhood - projects, to cover the story. In certain areas this crime/story would not have even made the evening news. Lastly, I learned how to respect people by watching my parents in action as I grew up - not "You Tube". Train up a child in the way they should go.

  • It sounds like Antoine is happy with the out come of what happened. I agree with you with the news, I'm sure a lot of us know that. But you were saying a lot of general statements. You can't speak for every one, and I'm sure the people who feel the way you do appreciate it. But racism, stereo types, it's every where. We just have to keep away from it and teach our children right from wrong.

  • @lettucesmoke Thanks for you comment. When it comes to racists and stereotypes, Silence is not an option for me. People keep urging me to accept this as par for the course, but I wasn't raised to let ignorance pass my threshold unfettered. I maybe one small voice but someone may hear it and change. If I keep my mouth shut, no one hears it. Do you know Katie Washington? She is the first black Valedictorian of Notre Dame University, Class of 2010. Her speech is on utube. It has under 500 views.

  • oh lighten up, girl, that damn fool is funny, so some people suck in this world, boo hoo, come on now, if we beat the pc drum til we deaf, no one will care when it counts

  • @frgnouch39 Seems you missed my point. By the way, Antione has his own channel. Please check out his video where he is in a relaxed setting and CALMLY answering questions. "Antoinedodson24 Fan Q&A". He is not a damn fool!

  • i know what you mean. its like saying all white people are like the ones on Jerry Springer. I simply think Dodson is awesome and funny. but he does have a point. he was defending his sister which could have been raped or worst which i think it was fantastic! cheers :)

  • @angel5212002 Check out Deonte Bridge's speech on youtube and afterwards ask yourself why HIS video is not viral.

  • @claudycherie Deonte Bridges is a hero. I urge you to see his speech on youtube and afterwards ask yourself why it is not viral. He is charismatic and an awesome brother. We are not cliches, comic relief, sidebars. We are doctors, teachers, lawyers, judges, philanthropists, etc. But the media would have you to believe we are in a sad state of affairs. And sadly some black people buy into these images of us and think that is all they can be. Meanwhile our achievements are swept under the rug.

  • @AuthorTanya I did get a chance to view Deonte Bridges's Valedictorian Speech. He IS quite inspirational. I got goose bumps when he started listing all his awards and nearly cried when he said he was the recepient of 1 Million dollars in scholarship funds. But Antoine Dodson IS inspiring too and so is his sister. He is cool and funny. She is brave and spunky. Do you not see why I, and 10 million YOUTUBE viewers, are in love with the Dodsons and want them to see them achieve Rock Star status?

  • @claudycherie Once again, this video I made is not anti-Antoine. It's directed at the people who left racist comments & pointed out his flaws mocking him. Please, do not try to convince me that I should ignore the blatant racist parodies of him. Has this led to his sister's attacker being caught? Is anyone watching this worried about capturing a rapist? No. It's just funny, right? But when I saw the negative comments, etc It was sad. BTW, Deonte should have 10 million views. He's the real hero!

  • She is so hot I didn't hear a word she said, lol

  • niggers niggers niggers

  • Want to see how black people act? Take a look at 30,000 of them in Atlanta Georgia looking to get on section 8 housing.

  • You really can't take youtube comments seriously. I'd just ignore all racism-, troll-, hate comments, etc.

  • you're a dumb bitch it has nothing to do with racism, just a fucking retard. black or white. and you're retarded too, no one cares what you have to say. you're not important.

  • omg, stop

  • Comment removed

  • @prsplaya06 Who's whining? I'm straight up telling you. I've had enough of racists comments. I don't care what African told you negative things about Black Americans. If you don't like black people there are tons of other people you can spend your time focusing on. Focus on the people you like. Then you won't have to muddy up your chi making racist comments. It's really very simple. If you like Ugandans than watch their videos. Why do feel compelled to bring your negative energy onto my page?

  • Comment removed

  • what type of stereotypes would you get?

    Black, Nigger, Negro?

    your not even black?

  • I completely understand. I too am tired of all the stereotypes about whites being racist, wealthy, not able to dance, extremely self-involved, uneducated about people other than themselves, are unable to understand the complicated ways in which people who are not white survive, and are in deep denial about racism.

  • Hey Tanya,

Videos featuring all sorts of ethnic backgrounds have gone viral, resulting in disparaging remarks (not just those featuring people of African descent).

There are countless news clips of caucasian folks doing the same thing, and they are equally discriminated against when these situations arise. Comments involving derogatory references such as "white trash" are commonplace in these caucasian videos... just like the derogatory references you've taken issue with.

  • u mad?

seriously though, "fed up with stereotypes, especially stereotypes to do with black people", what a surprise..

wake up and smell the cheese, everyone suffers from negative stereotyping to some extent not just black people

you'll find though that educated people do realise that stereotypes are just that: stereotypes and in no way a true representation of a type of class or race

  • bitch what ya doin outside tha kitchen<??

  • I love Antione Dodson.

  • niggas and theyre hatred. stop complaing.

  • tANYA- YOU ARE ANOTHER STUPID SELF-RIGHTEOUS BLACK WHO TAKES EVERYTHING TOO SERIOUSLY.

LOOK AT YOU ALL GREASED UP TRYING TO SPEAK PROPER IN YOUR SILLY VIDEO.

LOOSEN YOUR PANTIES AND HAVE SOME FUN. GEEEZ

  • There are lots of black people out there. They are all different.

    The end.

  • @AuthorTanya Tanya I understand you get frustrated when you read the racist stereotypical comments left on youtube by anonymous people. That's the Internet and it will always be that way. BUT I think there is another reason why you are so angry. You are obviously an intelligent women, who didn't grow up in the ghetto. my example is this; Obama is mulatto 50/50 yet people still call him the first Black President. Just like your phenotypes are similar but both of you are only identified as Black.

  • @refink33 Right! And people only see stereotypes on TV. So, by the time they meet a black person who doesn't fit a stereotype they think the person is pretending to be something that they're not. Most black people speak "proper" English, hold down great jobs, and are very progessive. That's the average black person. But these images would lead us to believe most black people live in the projects and that we are a race in trouble...Ignoring all of our decades of progress. It's sad.

  • I don't think people are getting it, or being slow, or just purposely don't want too get it. This video is mainly about racist, and how they express their pride when there is a viral video of a black person doing something crazy or stupid. Antoine is just being used as a example. It still a funny video regardless, and he ok about it. Plus he making money off it now, but I can see where she coming from though.

  • In addition, perhaps u're not really attempting to inform, but more so to project from previous negative experiences. Its understandable, but arent you subjugating urself to a more stereotypical white female look?I dont think ur hair is naturally that straight,is it?No disrespect, but ur argument centers on Antoine inaccurately representing ur race. Some may call this hypocritical? The point is to oppress ones cultural/ethnic essence is to oppress what truly makes them beautiful in the first place.

  • Comment removed

  • Tanya, you're entitled to your opinion, but you are way off the mark on this one. Watching the video I thought the guy was f'ng brilliant! I only wish I could express myself at times as freely as Antoine. It had nothing to do with perpetuating stereotypes. No one is presuming all black people are like Antoine...that's silly. Protesting against people from certain backgrounds instead of embracing/praising who they are is what creates boundaries between races. One can learn even from Antoine.

  • @RawKinRoe Read the comment section of the videos with his image and you will understand where I'm coming from. This video is directed at the racists who left their hateful stamp on them. It's not an attack on Antoine. Thanks for your comment.

  • That was a bit inappropriate... I've got to say, this is just like people whose ancestors were African slaves in the U.S. It's senseless. You're just looking to complain about something. Antoine is funny. I love African Americans, so I understand that he's a person. He was real though, and we can respect that. This defense was just taken too far though. When I look up "Antoine Dodson" on YouTube, this video isn't what I want. I want to see the real video and watch the song-versions. I make fun

  • People who speak non-standard english are funny. It has nothing to do with race. Search youtube for a vid called "rickyisms" (watch?v=Jfq3c4Cf1Fs) That's the white version. Should the white version of jessie jackson march up and down to get that show taken off the air? No, because the actions of one individual of whatever skin color do not characterize a race. You yourself said that in this video. Stupid people are come in all colors, and they are all pretty damn funny. Run and tell that.

  • Thank you for stating the obvious.

just wasted 5:10 minutes of my life..

  • antoine is warning u about the racist don't worry "we gonna find u" lmao

  • You are Beautiful thats all.

  • Tanya, you're very beautiful!

  • Thank you. I watched Deonte Bridges speech. Good for him. Sorry he didn't recieve enough views like you wanted, and his story is intresting. But back about Antoine. This suprise? that he would recieve racist comments, are, and is expected.

YouTube has been around quite some time for us to know how it goes. Its a given for Antoine's video to expect this type of reception. trying to find this "change" with steryotypes that you want is fuedal, the change wont ever exist. it is what it is.

  • BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You are beautiful, articulate and intelligent and unfortunately completely wrong.

There is no such thing as the "normal" black person, just as there is no "normal" white person. All experience is individual, whether physical or spiritual.

Having traveled the 48 continental states in the US, let me tell You, stereotypes live. The Antione Dodson video was awesome and hilarious, with no disrespect to the Dodsons.

Being who You are in front of the camera takes courage and character. He was.

  • @NassimHarameinVedas This video was directed at the racists who left their negative stamp on his videos, not at Antoine. Peace.

  • That's why people, even "upper class" watch/loveJerry Springer(Is it still on?) It reminds them, no matter how horrible their conditions are, that they're still and always will be better than "those" people.

  • Thanks AuthorTanya! Great video.

  • Antoine Dodson does not come out sounding "a fool." He sounds like someone that has so much charisma that people naturally want to watch him. He is, in the clip, funny as hell. I would want to hang out with him. You are so smart too by figuring out that the media only wants to show "not the norm," idiot.

  • i think you have some insecurities. people love this video because it is awesome. its not about whether be is black or white. true, there are hateful people out there. but the majority of the fans of this video could give a shit about whether he is black or white. you gotta understand that. i feel like you have stereotyped Antoine buy posting this video.

  • Don't get so butt hurt. If you watch the Springer show everyone looks stupid from every race. That's probably how Tony naturally speaks anyway. I have heard other gay people that talk like him, especially when they are emotional.

  • Tanya, please take "Dodsen's Internet Celebrity bit" for what its worth, your message is true. But have you seen his reactions to whats happening?. He is "owning" his situation. That is absolutely awsome. If more black people learned to "own" theyer "blackness" like "he" is than negativley using it as a "stereotype" like in your message. We need to get off that Stupid-Crutch and quit running to it every time a black person acts like themself when caught on camera. Thats what we are. :/

  • @TheSoapbox77 Thank you for your comment. My issue is not with Antoine. My message was directed at the people who left the racist comments under his image. The person who should be an internet sensation is Deonte Bridges. Please look up his video and pass it on to your friends. This young man received over $1 million in scholarships and his story is very powerful. We need more images like his circulating. There are more stories like his that get overlooked everyday and that's a damn shame.

  • I agree with this video and it gets 5 stars because you don't like when people want to be racist towards a race for 1 person on the news acting a fool or giving racist folks something to hate "colored or different then white or poor or anything of the sort" anymore then do

  • It went viral because it is funny. When white people act stupid it goes viral too...

  • @angel5212002 Yes, Antoine deserve praise, not to be mocked as a stereotype and that was the point of my video. Thank you for your reply. I appreciate your opinion.

  • Racist stereotypes only work for limited dumb white people. I have travelled extensively to five of our world's seven continents. People of African descent are very diverse. Only dumb limited people would think that AD represents most black people. THANK YOU for sharing your very well informed and thought-provoking commentary.

  • Racial stereotypes do exist, but there is no racist stereotype, let me know if u want me to inform you.

  • @pepperjacked a racial stereotype embodies racism as they promote racial prejudice or discrimination. Get informed. Travel a bit. Read. Peace!

  • While for many, the Antoine Dodson story may be a temporary source for entertainment. The main focus should be on the victim, Kelly. Both Antoine & his sister Kelly represent what is far too often unspoken, Rape. This woman was attacked with her child in bed with her. As animated as it was, Antoine & Kelly did not shy away from the cameras they stood up to the attacker and did not keep silent out of shame or fear of a potential future attack.

  • @angel5212002 An example of an eloquence in speech would definitely be Deonte Bridges. His video should be viral. Please look him up. It is a wonderment to me why more people gravitate to videos of black people going off or fighting, but they overlook black people who are breaking stereotypes. Deonte Bridge received $1 million in scholarships...he overcame a lifetime of struggle to do it. But more people know about Antoine & the black man who got beat up on AC Transit. Question this. Ask why.

  • @AuthorTanya There is enough room in the world for our Deonte Bridges & our Antoine Dodsons. Albeit, sheer ignorance or lack of tolerance on the parts of the commentators posting negative/racist comments, they do not represent a general consensus. You define whether a stereotype is negative or positve. As an articulate presumbably, well educated black women you may not want to be casted with an Antoine Dodson out of fear of a negative stigma or stereotype. We should celebrate who we are as a...

  • @AuthorTanya people. I read negative comment on the Deonte Bridges video as well. Idiots will be idiots. Both young men projects positivity and we should celebrate them.

  • I think you’re highly highly delusional about reality.... And you just bored me to death about blah blah blah, stereotyping is here and here to stay, as long individuality is here, so is stereotyping,,,, it’s as simple as that. (Racism and stereotyping are two separate issues don’t get them mixed up or together)

  • @pepperjacked Thanks for your contribution to the discussion. Your opinion is appreciated. I hear you on being bored to death. It takes patience to listen to me talk. So maybe your right. Perhaps I'm delusional. If I am, I am not alone. I'm in great company. Many called Barack Obama delusional when he expressed aspirations of the presidency. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was delusional. Walt Disney--extremely delusional, Bill Gates & Steve Jobs...insanely delusional. I'll take it as a compliment.

  • @pepperjacked (The Norm) What is the norm, Your reality of the norm I am sure is different than Antwons reality of the norm, much less my reality of the norm, NORM: a standard, model, or pattern…. conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural….NORMAL, conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural. MR. king was not the norm, nor was gates, nor was Walt, maybe even obama...but you are concerned about the norm.

  • @pepperjacked: Normal would be a boring life.

  • You are absolutely right but you have a big job on your hands if you think you can change America.

  • Yes, there are way too many racist idiots commenting on Youtube. But don't you dare try to take the fun out of the Antoine Dodson vid. I think he expressed himself superbly. He got his point accross completely and had better camera presence than most professionals. I tell you the guy might have found his calling.

And brain-dead racist rednecks need to stay off Youtube!

  • @coochie2u Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I think Antoine was doing the right thing by his sister. I wasn't trying to take the fun out of his video. I was addressing the racist people who are leaving negative comments on videos with his image. And I was questioning how some media outlets exploit the image of an angry black person. Deonte Bridges received $1 million in scholarship money yet the video of his speech is not viral. Why? Because he's not going off or fighting? It pisses me off.

  • @coochie2u true!

  • how much do you concern yourself with sterotypes with other races? black people only tend to care about issues the are about them.... grow up.... life is too short..

  • @deltamike21 Thanks for your reply. I really like appreciate it. You give me another way of looking at things.

  • Who agrees with me that he is the black chris crocker ps u sexy ma

  • @Al3xTrucho20 Thanks for your comment. Yes, he does have a slight Chris Crocker swagger about him.

  • actin a fool! whatever, u r not better than Antoine. See you my sista have been sucked in to the Capitalistic hedonistic ways of European culture. And u think that the so-called education that you got in this country is worth something. U speak the way you do and perm your hair bcuz u are ashamed of u! have you thought about that! I'm not racist. I just know the truth about what u r speaking on. If the truth was shared with you, you'd be appalled to know that u, not Antoine had been hoodwinked!

  • @RepindatJesus Thank you for your message. My video was directed at the people who were leaving racist messages under Antione's image. Stay spirited. I like your style.

  • THE GUY IS REAL. IF I'M MAD I WOULD NOT FAKE IT. WHEN YOU MAD YOU ACT OUT IN A CERTAIN WAY. BLACK PEOPLE ARE THE REAL DEAL YOU NEED TO STOP LIVING YOUR LIFE BY THE WHITE BOOKS. THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH Antoine Dodson SPEAKING. HE IS THE REAL DEAL N U NEED 2 STOP HATING!!!

  • @MEMYSELF66 I don't have a problem with Antoine Dodson. I have an issue with the racists people who left ignorant comments under his videos; Those people who believe in stereotypes and use images like Antoine's to validate their negative thoughts of black people.
