1) Keep it in minor key - that it gives it a bit of mystery. Major key makes it sound like a straight-up major-key blues - which is pretty boring generally speaking (unless somebody does something creative/far out with it)

2) Put some effects on that acoustic (e.g., a delay pedal) to make it more psycho-delic
