Joey Styles was not a great announcer. He was ok and he was better than the current team (but really what isn't?) but he gets a lot more credit then i think he deserves. He gets caught up in the Internet love for ECW

i do announcing for a local indy wrestling group "with a color guy" and it's pretty tough to be on the ball the whole time, what he did was very impressive.

@horrorfan1 I never said he wasn't good at his job, he was overrated. If you go back and watch ECW now, a lot of the matches and the announcing dosen't hold up. Like i said, back in the day, before Piper joined Solie on Color (the first guy to do color, despite WWE changing history as always and claiming it was Ventura) Solie used to do all the announcing and interviews. Every announcer usually coines terms. Solie had 'The Crimson Mask' etc. Saying 'Oh My God' does not make you great
