  • he acts as my favourite "dylan" the '62 to '64 one. In my opinion thats when some of his best stuff was written. I know he didnt sing it but the scene with the lonesome death of hattie carroll really got to me.

  • In my Book, Bob Dylan was just an opportunistic arrogant little punk taking advantage of the times just for himself, in being only out for a popularity ticket and to feather his nest with his songs, that I really don't feel he gave much of a damn about. In spite of how everyone alive celebrates him as some kind of 60s rebellious hero sporting the Dean Stockwell hair-do, I just don't dig him.

  • @ jovialduke...yea he's obviously pretentious and thinks he's better than everyone else...man im so sick of people wanting "celebrities" as they call them...to be perfectly happy/open/sociable people...what if he wasn't famous? Would u still want him to never get angry? He's just a normal person mate...get over it....what if u saw him on the street? U'd probly crap urself at all the bad stuff u've said about a REGULAR FREAKIN HUMAN BEING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ that joe guy....SUPERSTAR FIT??? Are you insane? What if your next door neighbor had the same fit? He'd just be swearing and being an idiot...but get a 'celebrity' as someone like urself would call him....and all of a sudden he's having a 'superstar fit'...man no offense but that's real bad class...just cos he's famous...he actually acts more like ur next door neighbor as opposed to 'glamorous celebrities' who are obviously so perfect in ur eyes...damn!

  • @ww2footage because he's fucking awesome that's why.christian bale doesn't even know what accent he has anymore

  • Brilliant actor

  • He lived in Portugal, my country!

I just keep thinking what it would have been like to run into him on the street... Just awesome.

  • why would somebody make movie about shithead goverment whore dylan

  • this woman has one annoying voice, that's for sure ;)

  • bat man and joker as Bob Dylan LOL

  • is it me or does his accent change every time he talks

  • bet he gets an oscar nom for the fighter

  • his face is so symmetrical...

  • Note that Bale is doing the interview "in-character". Costume, makeup and voice.

  • Christian Bale was born in Wales to parents of English descent. He grew up and was educated in England. After leaving Britain in 1976, Bale spent his childhood in several countries, including Portugal and the United States. Since 1992, Bale has resided in Los Angeles.

  • Christian Bale is from Wales.

  • this movei sucks!

  • This is by far the trollest movie reporter ever

  • @charminghost hahahaha why?

  • Christian Bale as Bob Dylan... that's hilarious. Christian Bale is nothing like Bob Dylan. He's like an opposite personality.

  • OMG, the reporter's voice is hurting my ears =(

  • is bale american or english, my this accent is fucking fantastic

  • He's Welsh.

  • @gunsofbrixton29 yeah but he considers himself English.

  • He's Welsh (British).

  • He was speaking largely with his Dylan voice. He stays in character. Yes, that does make him come across as a loony.

  • Sounds like watered down British.

  • @illuminatijews He is British.....

  • This movie was alright and decently interesting...coming from a huge Dylan fan, it could have been alot better...I didn't like how christian bale says Dylan was trying to find out who he was, which makes no sense to me he was being himself all along...frankly that just tells me that this movie is a bit of a commercial joke. It did have some good cover music however which was enjoyable.

  • Ayrgh I fucking hate how slow this chick talks! DX

  • I really didn't like this movie. I am a Bob Dylan fanatic. He's the center of my universe pretty much. But this, while I value the effort because this really could have been good, is an art film that sheds Dylan in the wrong light. The light that someone who knows less about him would think.

  • @v1s1onsofjohanna Art film?

Yes... It's art but that's a good thing as far as i know... could you elaborate more?

  • i didnt new anything about the existince of this movie bale and ledger worked together before cool

  • Did this movie suck? It looks like it was all over the place.

  • it's a very good movie. but you have to be in the mood for it, it's deep.

  • The narrators so ignorant of Dylan. 'He became the lead singer of protest'. He hated being labelled and pigeonholed like that

  • Bale is Welsh isn't he? He is about as NOT Dylan as I could come up with. (Not because of the Welsh thing, two separate observations)

  • i actually thought this was one of his best roles

  • Well, I guess you just never know. OK, so who would you get to play Kieth Richards? We need like a cast of 20 to pull that off. Any suggestions?

  • Comment removed

  • no he is not welsh. he was just bourne there. he grew up in england, and considers him self to be english.

  • Why would he look silly doing it? Any actor in Hollywood would jump on the opportunity to play Bob Dylan in a well written biopic.

  • He has such gorgeous features, wow!!!! I love what they did with his hair here, soooooooooooo cute. He sorta reminds me of a young John Fogerty from CCR. I wonder if someone else would notice that ,and approach him to play him in a movie. That would be awesome!!!!

I love the fact that he takes risks, and does these kinds of roles,he may look silly doing them, but he's a trooper. I love him sooooooooooo much♥♥♥

  • I agree with u abt his gorgeous features ;D

  • i love how his accent wanders from american to pommie. the hair is so sexy XD

  • What's pommie? I think he is Welsh?

  • hes british thats for sure

  • OMG the hair!! xD

  • Any interview with Mr. Bale is a good one. Love him!! =) Love to all Baleheads!!

  • w00t HI5

  • fuck u

  • fuck you wanker face simonistic

  • So before watching this video I was completely ignorant of the fact that Heath and Christian had been in I'm not there together before the Dark Knight! What an amazing combo, although I do realize that in Im not there they likely didnt have scenes together as they both played aspects of Bob Dylan's life, but the interrogation scene in Dark Knight is Incredible!

  • He seems so much happier in this clip than others.

  • Obviously, this movie won't make any sense if you don't know anything of Bob Dylan except his music. I suggest watching 'No Direction Home' to get a little bit more info on Bob Dylan then watch this. It helps.

  • geezus

  • he didnt rly just joking

  • wtf joan baez wasnt dylans protege

  • esther

  • oh very nice

  • Great movie but whats with the woman narrating this video??

  • I wonder what kind of music Christian likes though.

  • im not sure i want to know

  • yes,probably some nice welsh 70s progrock like I do,hahahaha.

  • Seriously i sat down and watched this movie last night, what the hell was going on. Bob dylan was portrayed by a black kid and also by richard gere in a time before bob dylan was alive as a 50 somehting hillbilly. And no one portraying bob dylan was called bob dylan??? I can get post modernism as a literary style, but this movie was jsut ridiculous in my view. Can anyone shed some insight into what the hell was going on

    PLEASE!!!

  • i agree that movie was retarded and boring.

  • well you are just an idiot!!

  • well u obviously a pretty tough person, you know making feeble attempts to pay out on someone over youtube. Pretty tough bro :)

  • ok i can explain it.

The movie is supposed to be like a Dylan song. Every character represents a different stage in Bob Dylans life. Christian Bale was the 1963-64 era dylan and cate blanchett was the 1965-66 dylan. heath ledger was the late 70s-early 80s dylan that was going through a divorce. i can explain some of the metaphors too if you want.

  • Thank god. I'm sick of people saying how horrible the movie is and how it doesn't make sense.

  • Nice white man fro.

    LURE

  • Yes I most definitely agree :)

Christian Bale is the BEST actor EVER!

I don't understand why someone so BRILLIANT as him doesn't get awards!!!! It's insane!!! I don't get it.

  • I adored this movie and Bale's performance was one of the best. However, I think the narrator got it wrong. Yes, in the beginning of Bale's character's story he is the "emerging beatnik," but the main focus of his story is really the Christian, gospel era of Dylan's music. Which Mr. Bale has even been quoted as saying is his favorite of Dylan's music.

  • Where is the quote that Bale's favorite Dylan music is the Christian gospel music? He (Bale) says specifically that he's not a fan of all the music...I'd be interested to know what music that is (and what music he does like).

  • I'd say he wouldn't ba the kind of guy who would give a rats ass about music.

  • In an interview he once said he was a fan of Manic Street Preechers.

    xXx

  • Yeah! Brilliant actor with VERY good taste!

  • Oh yeah, he's an altenative rock music fan, he apologised for his outburst on Terminator on a alternative rock radio station

  • love him, ahmazing actor.

  • Everytime I see a Bale interview after not seeing a movie of his in a while, I always go "Oh, right, he's not american" lol, but yea This guy is my fave actor. I got Leonardo DiCaprio a close second.

  • I admire him very much, he is by far my favorite actor, some great performances he has done, specially in The Machinist, American Psycho, and The Empire of the Sun, where he was just a kid! Not every actor could do that...

And I have to say that he is the best Batman ever! Oh and he is gorgeous too :)

  • He's accent is British but I think you hear him with different accents in interviews because he is adjusting to the movies he is filming. He can't just get on set and start talking with a different accent, it's very hard.

  • Very underrated actor!!!

  • the greatest actor of this generation bar none, follow him with heath ledger you got yourself a beautiful picture

  • You couldnt go wrong in a film starring Bale and Ledger..two of a kind actors. Too bad Ledgers gone, he was great.

  • "This man is so unbelievably good at what he does,he has incredible range, and has acheived so much in such a short time.Sadly,he has'nt been justly rewarded for his remarkable work what a damn shame!! I've seen damn near every movie he's starred in,and although some roles were more crappy than others, you can't deny the man's talent. There's no other actor that gets me more excited than Christian Bale.."

That's RIGHT TgyrI66!! Everything you said with a cherry on top! =)

  • i love this movie. everyone was perfect.

  • This man is so unbelievably good at what he does,he has incredible range, and has acheived so much in such a short time.Sadly,he has'nt been justly rewarded for his remarkable work what a damn shame!! I've seen damn near every movie he's starred in,and although some roles were more crappy than others, you can't deny the man's talent. There's no other actor that gets me more excited than Christian Bale. He's so good,I believe he can play any role, even a two-dollar,crack whore, but I hope he does'nt.

  • AND.... he's beautiful to look at. ;)

  • truer words never been spoken! aaah! lol!

  • fuckin' agreed!

I saw the movie last night and OMG ** I love the man to pieces.

    Cate Blanchett was fantastic too.

  • @Tgyrl66 He plays a crackhead in the fighter.

  • He looks so different with longer hair. He's great.

  • You have got to like his British accent.

  • Yeah - he's got kind of a cross between a thick London accent and he sometimes slips into kind of a New York accent as well. Weird mix really, but yeah, you gotta love him.

  • I love the way Bale talks, but he's been talking in so many different accents in each of his movies, I think he has grown to be accustom to changing his accent even when speaking normally. With this video, first he had a British accent, and then later he moved to a strange American English/ British accent. Kinda weird ... but cute.

  • this woman has the most annoying voice ever

  • true.

  • Amen

  • Sounds like daphne from scooby doo meets robot

  • FREAKING AGREED.

  • I saw the movie at the london film fetsival! he was there, watching it for the first time too...I love him!

  • Woah one second he's british in this interview and the next he's american...i'm really confused..

  • HE IS NOT THERE!!!!!

  • evidently...

  • I just love his hair as Dylan. <3

  • hes a method actor you dumb fuck..hence the accents.

  • It's a trademark move of his. When doing a film, he keeps the accent of his character on.

BTW Where is his gorgeous, chiselled tushy from? The accents do confuse me slightly.

  • Born in Wales, raised in England, Portugal and the US in his later life.

  • Coolio.

Wales has actually produced something wonderful? =O ...Only kidding, Wales is alright.

  • haha

  • OMG I luv christian bale!he is the love of my life...

  • i absoluety love christian bale<3 thnks for posting it

p.s. nice hair do mr.bale haha
