It is not animal cruelty. All you really have to do to domesticate a bird is hand raise it from an egg, but I do not think that is what happened here. That being said if he makes the trip every day in a small town then the people know to look out for him when they drive. Walking to a fish market is a safer way to get food then swimming in waters teeming with leopard seals and killer whales, and it looks so happy, also they do not mate for life you all have no idea what your talking about idiots.

I don't have a problem with them keeping a penguin that didn't want to leave them (uhh...I guess...probably would be better if they put him in a zoo and set something up so that they, his "family," could see him regularly), but it's not fair of them putting a book bag on the penguin and expecting to walk through town in the heat.
