Awesome!, Ya my dad and his girlfriend were hanging to her and my alot at what was apparently Janis' birthday party cause they were singing happy birthday and made like a huge joint or something ha ha, it's kind of a bummer, I don't think I'll ever meet Jack White at a random party
Watch what you say about probably the most influential, talented and under appreciated musicians of the 1900's. In Janis's time it was all about freedom, honesty, and keeping it real! Now Janis means so much to so many you are not only commenting on a person who cant' use her right of reply, bit offending passionate people all over the world. Janis's People, and she is the Queen of Passion and Soul, But , you would not even begin to understand what i am talking about, Would You?
I love Janis Joplin, and her music, and her voice, but you CAN'T hide the truth, shes not prettty. Im not saying she's a bad person or her music is bad, I'm saying she's not that good-looking. I still like her music, and I bet she was a great person on the inside.Yuou don't have to look good to be a good singer....
Okay, how about you just don't reply to me anymore. I'll say this again- you don't know who the hell I am! Stop TRYING to be cool, cause thats never gonna happen. Besides, you probably don't even know what obvious means. And you say 'you are dum' and tell me I don't have anything worthy to say...
thinboy448,I think you're right, she is talking about David here since she change some parts of the song that according to some Janis books i've read sounds like the times she shared with him/his feelings("Honey..honey!you know that I love you but i need to find myself..) he was in peace corps and he travels alot.He loves Janis but he chose to stay in Peace corps instead of being her road manager.
Wow. I was watching Chelsea Hotel by Leonard Cohen and read that it was about her, so I looked her up and this was the first song I came across....and wow. Only 27 then? Fantastic.
What a voice this LADY has, I still feel touched by
her music. I love All her music I love cry, cry baby, but like one of the other people say, don't cry roll baby, roll baby, I will always honor you, cause I know you had a hard life, but your music lives on, Janis
I've known Janis is dead for quite a while, but still I don't want to believe it... Any other people feel like that? To me she is still alive, in the heart of people who think the same way, people who love her, people who watch her vids, ...
NOw, *this* defines "star-power", to be able to deliver it live every bit as well as in the studio, and to be a "real person" who can also just blow the doors off the joint with her voice. This *band* was fantastic, too! Thanks for the "encore" --- my local classic-rock station ran "Pearl" as the midnight album last night, and I, of course, immediately wanted to hear this again!
I feel very sorry for Janis Joplin. I feel she had a hard life and carried a lot of pain in her heart. No wonder she died so young, singing with such raw emotion. I am proud to say that I was born in Janis Joplin's hometown, Port Arthur, Texas.
I wonder if she was singing about Country Joe. They were living together and then he threw her out. See Peggy Caserta's book "Going Down with Janis" for the real scoop on her life.
Don't know if i'm wrong, but i see her beautifull in every way, besides, her looks matches perfectly with her attitud and her voice. there can't be a more perfect human
What a fucking ugly woman and what a fucking incredible voice. Janis proves that modern day management startegies of prefering beauty to talent are senseless and rificulous. I love her, to bad she died..
I didn't get the honor of seeing her live. Alot of my friends did...they said she was awesome...she was just a little-bitty thing, but full of power...a real firecat...Loved you Janis...RIP

Unbeliavable singer and girl...little girl 'cause sha was 27 years old back then.
I think she "talk" about David Niheaus, the guy she knew in Brasil trip. A wonderful performance, however.
