So, I just bought a 6 string ukulele from my friend for 20 bucks...I have no idea how to tune it...is it just like tuning a guitar?

it really depends, on the type of ukulele, and on which strings are doubled.

I think it may be a tenor because it was tuned kind of low, though he did say that it was terribly out of tune. If you have a link for a website that may be able to help, please put it up.

ok, I would take it to a guitar shop near ya, to be sure, if your 1st and 3rd strings are doubled, than you will either tune to GCEA or DBGE from low to high. The doubled strings either C and A or E and B are tuned exactly the same. The one my friend plays I thinks is some nutty tuning not many people use but idk. If your uke is like a miniature guitar, than its probably a miniature guitar and should be tuned respectively. Ill ask my friend though.

thank you, and lol, yeah it was pretty bad tunning with the uillean pipes. we tuned in the shade, and once we hit the sun the tunning went all sorts of bad. Not to mention those are really unforgiving reeds...
