  • How good is this! Great live version. Punctuated exactly like the studio version.

  • Wow!

  • Is he like Boys more than girls? (gay xD) HE look like ,lol ..You were Beautiful""

  • Performs better than he did 40 years ago, beautiful classic song. This is the one!

  • youtube -> yves paquet - eloise

  • Sooooo sad of the passing of Paul - he too was a legend in my books.

  • Superb...it's hard to explain just how much Eloise became an anthem of the times, I can't listen to any rendition of this special song without reflecting on better days - Thank you Paul and Barry Ryan for this and many other great musical offerings...loved them all - still do!

  • Talk about taking me back to the good old days. I loved this song to the max. in the 60s and still do. Great to see Barry can still punch it out with the best of them - keep 'em coming Barry, you're a legend (like your bro who wrote the song ,,,)

  • Just found some old 45rpm singles of Barry Ryan, been playing them all afternoon, forgot just how good he was....this is a Fantastic Song, keep singing Barry...Alan from London

  • where has he been?

  • The Best what a voice.

  • he still has a great voice singing this song Eloise with the one he sang many years ago! he looks the same except for his white hair!!

  • Top !!!

  • this is great :D... untill you rearlise this was written along ..long time ago..Eloïse must be about 50+ years old now ><

  • I'm shocked, never thought I'd find a vid in which he isn't playbacking!

  • Ugh, his voice is not what it's used to be...

  • No offence to anyone, but this is just awful on so many levels.

  • I love him! ♥

  • Magnifique ! .....

  • Fabulous!

  • I prefer the Tino Casal's version... Puxa Asturies!!!

  • What happened? I just watch the original from 1968 and now suddenly you look like an old man?

  • wonderful!!!! thank you :)

  • The voice of an old man and digital sounds. Pathetic.

If you want the REAL GREAT BARRY RYAN, type "Barry Ryan - Eloise - Official Music Video" in YouTube and you'll get the great real 1968 sound.

  • He is as handsome as back then and still has an amazing voice!! Thank you for uploading this!!

  • I love this song ! =) My name is Eloïse too. =)

    Kiss

  • An all time favourite and a wonderful live performance.

  • I met barry and his twin brother Paul.. Yes they are from England, heard that Paul passed away.....

  • I didnt Know Dave from "The Royle Family" could sing :)

    Thanks for uploading 5*

  • Love you Barry and all your geat songs <3

  • I prefer Tino Casal's version of the song , I like his voice, the lyrics of the song and the more aggressive rhythm. Even the version made several years ago by the band Stravaganzza, based on Tino's version.

    Sorry for my bad english.

  • Barry...extraordinary...

  • Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll.

  • the age please from fantistic men

  • Great song, and good orchestra. Interesting how the French understand the world's language, English. They should catch up with the West and start speaking it as their first language. It will be better for them. Even the backward Chinese communists are learning English as the mandatory language.

  • Time is gone....:-(( but this song is really always GREAT!!!

  • Who is the babe in the white dress.. Lush.!!!

  • Just Classic with a capital C, so much talent, I hope he lasts forever

  • so gar in Frankreich bekannt

  • What a fabulous performance Barry - you're such a rocker! Love you forever!!!

Thanks, Robert, for this video - loved watching it!!!!

  • he still looks and sounds great!

  • aaaaah age catches up with us all gmmmfffff

  • Why do French TV programmes have to have panels about everything, for Gods sake just get on with it!!

  • aha, this on'e live! Great.

  • Comment removed

  • Still a good song and by some one who can push it to where it belongs, keep doing what you are good at

  • just top !!!!!!!!

  • watch?v=-tZVHCkrmjo

  • Barry Ryan still has a fantastic voice, some 35 plus years after his 68 hit Eloise, well done Barry !!!

  • Great song, he hasn't lost his touch! What a brass section and drummer!

  • So glad it's back.....

    Just love it!

  • It's really mysterious Elaine, one day, the video was come back without I didn't do anything. Thanks for your comment and all of your nice videos, I appreciate them. Thanks too for the other comments of the Barry's Fans.

  • @robertcaudron iS bARRY ONE OF THOSE PERFORMERS THAT CAN SING IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES? hE LOOKS BRITISH?

  • Great it's back on...but how did you manage to get the same date and comments on ?????..but it's good to see you back Bazz.....

  • life performance great 42 yrs later!

  • This is great and maybe courageous, Robert, to give us back Your video of Barry ... video I thought definitely stolen ... from you ...

And with our comments kept ... great !

    i didn't think this was possible ...

The few lyrics added by Barry in this video are :

    " I see your red dress "

" And I want to paint it black "

    " She ain't come back "

    " She ain't come back "

" Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah ! "

    " Eloïse " ... name given ... to 17,600 French women ... born in 1969 !

  • Look at The Damned's version at Liverpool - it is AWESOME!

  • @Sabatinitennis

There's no one ... but Barry Ryan to sing :

    " Eloise" !!!

And all other covers ...or attempts of covers ... by any other singers ... are vain ... certainly ... definitely ... vain !!!

    " She " is ... and ... will always be " HIS " !!!

This is my own opinion ... but I guess others share it ...

A true and ardent fan of Barry Ryan ... since the very first time she heard him in Dec 1968.

Loud Cheers for You ... Barry !

    Feb 10.

  • Still gorgeous Barry!

    Jan from Leeds [too!]

  • we love you barry still looking hot at 60

  • Happy Birthday, Bon Anniversaire BARRY, sans oublier PAUL.

  • très correct!

  • Happy Birthday, Barry.

    Hope it's special!

    Boodle all day..;)

    xx

  • While Barry is complimenting the conductor and orchestra, we can hear the entertainer say : " The voice he's kept ! I had told you ! Now let's sit down and thank him very very much, and we'll ask him to come back one day, because it really was great!".

This may be idle talk, a casual remark to congratulate him again, but if, if there was to be a next time someday, I wish he asked him two songs, and Barry would choose the other one and we might get the chance ...

  • to see Barry sing " Love is Love " or " The Hunt ", why not " Kitsch " as the word, the Kitsch deco and the seventies are in fashion again, or perhaps he would choose the beautiful aerial " Turn away ", because, French fellows, Barry is also a lot of other songs, also composed by Paul, and he would sing this time this second song, " la cerise sur le gâteau "( in French, we say the cherry, not the icing on the cake ) for the pleasure of those who have appreciated his singer's talent for long !!!

  • great song,, great performance for a bloke in his 60's but more importantly who is the spunk in white

  • LOVE IT.

  • tino casal le pasa por encima

  • TINO CASAL ES PUTO

  • No ensucies este video con tus comentarios.

    Colin- New Zealand

  • You're looking and singing great Barry. From one 59 year old Leeds born lad to another. :-)

  • Listen to the laugh at the start of the vid, 0.02/0.03. Someone's channeling the Count . . .

  • here we go again more xenophobia - just watch listen and learn eejuts...

  • Knockout song!

60's Classic..and the old guy STILL has the magic!

  • Patrick got his hair cut..short!

Saw him on TV a couple of days ago... looks cool...

Hope we see you again soon, Barry!

    ;)

  • Dedicated to Derek.

1968, Kitwe Boys High. Those were the days my friend.

    Ken.

  • Thank you Barry thank music and thank you France merssie lot of music

  • Well at least you put Barry Ryan in front of David Vanian so you cant be all bad mate....By the way; what laxaties did your mum take the day you was born?

  • From México..... Eloise yes is a classic....

    Regards.

  • I tried to reply twice already!!.... Youtube!!!!

    Now I give up!!!

  • You did not even really living in that time era I also make my own decisions, basher.

I know better then you the English AND Irish culture, your living in France? Well I lived a long time in the UK, so don't give me a lecture about England Mr.Now it all, your a master of nothing but sh*t !People will get fedup of you and you won't get many friends that way.

  • You have a lot of problems that you like to bashing people like that,it also seems that be you need a doctor, because you are really frustrated.Your writing don't make any sence, you getting personal and out of line. This page is to talk about Barry's music not your personal vendetta's against people who like Barry's music, you make yourself ridiculous with your arrogant childish talk and lak of beheaving in good manners, seems that you find yourself better then someone else.

  • Actually, Sabaiphare,

"I just don't like them" is really lame!

It's not a very constructive critism!

You might do better than that..

  • Well Sabaiphare we still all waiting here of what kind of music you actual like.

You can't judge Barry or his singing because when this song came out,you where not even born(on your page it says your 38).If you look down on people who eat fish & chip(s!), it looks very arrogant and not every one by the way eats fish & chips. If you don't like this page or this music then stay away from it, simple and find your own music on youtube.

  • Come on Sabaiphare Froggyhead ,you know nothing about talent x-Factor don't let me laugh (lol). To be curious what are infact your favorites? Because I think you have no style and no sence of real talent, show me a video of you and then we can all judge you.

  • Barry Ryan has become rather a recluse in the uk. I'm only used to seeing him in old promo films or video from 1968. Personally i was very impressed by that performance. He obviously looks forty years older but his voice, although not as strong as it was, still hold's up remarkably well. The band behind him was very good, apart from the synth, in place of the original string section.

  • Yes, Sabaiphare, music for the masses is Pop Music! It encompasses a broad spectrum of music & provides a platform for a diversity of artists to present their work - given the opportunity!

This, together with a few others, has stood the test of time, & become a classic.

With or without connections, opportunities in life do arise... Some people, however, risk missing theirs because they're too busy whining about how lucky someone else got....

  • So there you have it; a tried and tested formula.

Its ironic that a band like the Dammed, who in their punk conception actually championed your very thoughts ended up covering the song!

    now thats irony.

  • A lot of what you say has some truth sabiaphare; but isn't that true for all walks of life? Not what, but who you know?

When Paul Ryan wrote this song he wrote an undisputable all time classic; up there with the best.

Barry was the pretty face that sang it(very well too).

  • To Sabaiphare:You call me names Basher!

Frogg, if you can't handle the success of someone then stay away of youtube or are you maby someone of the imitators, to bashing a nice and good friendly singer like Barry. My hearing is perfect, maybe you have a swimming ear frogg!

He's the original and the only one who can sing this song perfect!

  • Youtube has demonstrated that there are a huge number of fans who are delighted that Barry still sings Paul's songs & wish he made more live performances.

If you are not amongst us that's OK

    >>>

  • Sabaiphare,

I'm sure that the many fans of Paul & Barry can respect your opinion.

Whether you like the performance, the song & the singing, is a question of personal taste!

....But your remarks concerning connections & agents are totally unsubstantiated and utterly absurd!

Everyone has connections, & every successful artist has an agent....

And in any business, any agent without influence had better be gone! Who would employ them?

    Continued

    >>>

  • This is the only original singer Barry Ryan of this song.

  • What got poor or rich got to do with this?

Barry can sing, and better then those imitations like Helmut Lotti.

Can you sing the high notes like Barry? I have doubts about that. The results of sale are the evidence that this was one of the most selling popsongs of that time. You where not even born that time, so don't judge this song if you don't know the real facts.

  • Excellent!! Loved it

  • This whole affair is pure camembert

  • I give up!

  • Still a great song and Barry sings it even better now than in the sixties.

  • This is the original!

  • That's amazing Stan...How in hell did you know I'd become a Kwik fit fatta...err....Kwik foot footer..err...kwik fat fuc....

    oh FORGET IT!

  • He still sings it pretty well actually. He looks like some bloke who works at Kwikfit, but still......

  • Awesome 5 stars

  • My favourite, all time song¨!!!

    Still sung brilliantly by Barry....

Paul would surely be proud of this performance!

    >>>XX

  • Quite like the ghanges he made to the song, and he sung it well, thanks barry.

  • .....I love him since (1969) I'am 12 years old, now I'am 50 :-)

  • Great to hear this song again. I last heard in while a student in London back in '68. It was on a juke box and we played it over and over. I think it cost us 6 pence a song back then. Oh, how I miss those days in London. Great work Barry!

  • Ce morceau est fantastique.. Rien n'a changé.

    quelle belle époque...

  • Still sounds just as good now as all those years ago....excellent job Bazza.

  • Fantastic done Barry! Your voice is still very good.

By the way, Helmut Lotti still has to learn a lot here's the proof, the one and only Barry Ryan!

Thanks to show this very nice video and also thanks to French TV, merci beaucoup!

  • He may be old and his voice a bit more rough but the song is eternal and still so fascinating like in 1968. What a moment on that night! I wish I was there clapping my hands. What a wonderfull public that was and what a marvelous playing of that orchestra!!

  • Hi blueice....

I think this doesn't sound quite like the original!

Barry has brought this song right up-to-date..

In my opinion he sings it better than ever!..

    :]

  • wow he still sound the same?

man .. i dont sound like i did yesterday o_O

how did he do it ? lol
