I think it's so cool and interesting that this man (from what i understand but don't quote me on this) was a janitor..and did this project in secret and it was only discovered upon his death. amazing.

The Hampton Throne is one of the great treasures for those living in Washington DC. An ordinary person with an extraordinary talent and vision, who transformed tinfoil of all things. Most of the outsider art, or wacky folk art that one sees either confirms the essentially nonegalitarian character of art, or stirs one's compassion for mental illness. Not the Hampton throne. Much religiosity is so bogus, self-serving, or fey in its blandness. Here is the real thing, its shiny self truly human.
