  • hi i don't speak deutsch very well so i don't want to ruin it i wanted to ask, i want to buy a Mercedes w190 1997cm3' benzin ' engine , the car is from 1987 it looks well it has 200.000km and automatic transmission and i was wondering will it run untill i say ... 500.000km? i mean the car looks really good and appears to be in good shape .please if someone knows much please reply me thank you and great vid.

  • Mein Arbeitskollege trauert heute noch seinem Evo 2 hinterher :D schönes Auto, bitte immer gut pflegen, damit es der Welt lange in solchen Videos erhalten bleibt :)

  • This darned thing sounds like a Ferrari, despite having half the cylinders.

  • if you can make a 0-100 km\h video;)

    great car tho;)

  • debel101 QUOTE!

does evo 2 standard, NOT TDM has 90 at the end of the red line of the rpm meter? and both evo 1 and evo 2 v max written= 260..is that right?

  • is it possible to get the same counters for that specific model on to mine?

  • @MrFixitcomputer no, VDO doesnt produce this custom made instrumentation anymore.

  • @MrFixitcomputer Yes you can, goto MercedesBenz service and they could sell you This for a nice price ;)

  • woow so much rpm!? omg i never seen a mercedes 190 wilt 100rpm on tacho :o

  • Drive whith 2 hands :D

  • ööööstlooooooooo

  • you can't destroy these older german engines!! especially old mercedes...I've seen some 190e with more than 500.000km and still running the first and original engine!

Just because the 2.5 16V is a more sportive version of the mercedes 190e, doesn't mean, that it won't last that long ;-)

  • this video makes me smile everytime i watch it

  • 350-380 hp

  • ~300! ;)

At 380 the Engine won't be driveable on the street and will not even run 10.000 km.

  • There are more suppyiers for engine tuning stuffs on 190E. E.g. Atec Motorenbau (google).

ITBs are sold from more... Flow-Improver and so on...

  • if only my 2.6 could do that.

  • You can't beat the noise of a high-revving naturally aspirated engine.

  • hahah everyones like wow the new m3 revs to 8300 . mercedes can rev even higher 20 years ago

  • An Enzo does 9500

Its only the way you adjust the motor

  • With a non-stock engine!

And an M3 should do at least 100.000km - this engine won't for sure.

Nice engine but nothing for every day.

  • It wont do 100,000, It will do 250,000+ for sure..

  • That's bullshit, you can be lucky if the engine does 30.000 km.

It's just not made for long run...

  • Notice how long high revving engines last, a good example is Honda. Not to mention Mercedes pre-1996 are built like tanks and this is no exception either

This car will easily go over 100,000kms, and I'm very curious where your argument is coming from

  • @Nagilum3 Where did you get that 30.000 mile number from? Just curious of what your source is because it doesn't sound accurate.

  • @MercsDude: If you thinkg about the facts, it does (and I wrote km, not miles, "miles" is an awfull sizing)! Normal Evo1/2 Enginges need to rebuild by about 200.000 km , maybe a bit more. DTM Enginges which reved up to 12k rpm were mostly done after 500 km.

I know the owner, the car, the engine and so on...

An Evo that revs up to 8.800rpm is not made for a long life. And even if it's written... it's just a (good) made Evo2 engine, not an original DTM engine.

  • @Nagilum3 I see what you mean. I did not read the previous posts but what you say makes sense. Thank you.

  • @MercsDude its an estimare! nobody knows until somethings brakes.

  • @Nagilum3 are you an idiot, BMW are less reliable than Mercedes and plus those 16V Engines go past 250K.

  • @markusr15

It's always funny if ppl talking shit cause they don't know what they're talking about.

If you tune your engine that way and up to that power, you'll never get that engine past 250k.

Oh... well sorry, you might be right... if you set the rev limit to 7.000 or so - but then you'll loose a lot of HPs.

So.. whot's the (stupid) idiot? (Hint: Not me)

  • Yes, but it wont do that as long as an M3 does!

  • @debel101

    so what??

honda made a car in the years 60 that reved to 8000

  • @samynstinkt Ferrari revved to 13000 in the 1940's

  • @debel101 LOL so true

  • @debel101 lol in fact, a e30 m3 dtm revs to 10k, don't know about the stock e30 m3 tho

  • @debel101 st*pid comment, look at your classics dude, and reving high doesn t make a good car or not

  • 190teile. de .specialist in germany!! nice guy - if you are serious contact him.

  • Thank you very much. I'm deadly serious about getting one, but not at the moment. It's a ways off, but when I'm ready... I'll know where to start. Again... thanks!!

  • how much hp?

  • 300-320

  • I lOVE THE 190E beautiful car!!!!

  • where do you get the carbon airbox? I REALLY want one!!

  • The airbox cannot be purchased separately from the engine then? Are replicas available?

  • we speak english dont worry. its an original DTM airbox from the 90s. only sometimes they change owners. if u are lucky or have the cash it can be bought, of course. but somewhat similar replicas are being build today by the guy i posted about some comments up. in general this way of tuning is expensive u can't just buy the airbox. i heard of an original DTM engine being sold for +20k. tuning an original evo1/2 engine should be a bit cheaper still giving u up to 300hp

  • THANKS!! I understand that it's expensive to tune this way... along with the alpha-n airbox I imagine I'd need the throttle bodies too... not to mention tuning the set-up. So while I'm not ready at the moment, I do hope that sometime in the near future I'm lucky enough to get my hands on an original... or even a reasonably done replica. Again... thank you very much!!

  • das auto ist einfach der hammah

  • und wann machst es denn!

  • see you at hockenheim '08,

from 190uk dot co dot uk!

  • wo bekommt man den 320er Tacho her??

Mal gucken, ob Du meine 190 D-Bestzeit schlagen kannst ;-)

  • vorsprung jerk technique, thats given me a semi at very least.

  • Hmmm mein Armer EVO *gg*

    Gruß.

    Jens

  • is dochn geiles teil :-) viel zu schade ihn NICHT zu drehen. muss unbedingt mal selber mitfahren.. höhö..
