ya this one of my favorite boss music. you never hear this caliber of music in modern day console games :(. its a shame. even most computer can't match up.
you all realize that the war between7 and 6 fanboys is just as bad as console wars, right? Let me solve it once and for all.
THEY ARE EQUAL.
and if you think one is better than the other, then fine.
just don't force it on everyone on the internet that you think that your opinion is the only one that matters. The only thing you'll get out of that is being called a troll. and NOBODY likes a troll.
Instead of screw Xbox I'll play old school Nintendo you say screw Playstation Era Final Fantasy I'll play old school Final Fantasy...lame...stop trying to be different
Now, I'm willing to let this slide if you can provide legitimate proof as to why FFVII was better than VI without ever mentioning graphics and revolutionary gameplay.
@UmbreonMessiah Graphics and revolutionary gameplay does count, why else would Ocarina of time be so highly rated?
The love of FFVI boils down to 2 things, Kefka and the opera scene. The opera scene is beautiful but in the end she is just singing and it does not advance the plot. Kefka is a rip off of the Joker from the Batman comics. But even the Joker had a motive, he wanted to prove others could become like him at any moment, Kefka just wants to kill everything for no reason, lame.

@UmbreonMessiah FF7 has better music then VI. Uematsu has gotten better over the years. Compare the final boss themes, the battle themes, overall VI cannot stand up to VII in terms of music.
Kefka or Sephiroth, its debatable who is the better villain, but at least Sephiroth had a motive. VII really has 3 major enemies, Rufus, Jenova, and Sephiroth.
VI has no main character to draw close to, VII does and Cloud is one reason why people love it so much.
You're so wrong on so many levels it's going to take several posts to silence you, I think
For starters, you completely miss why people like Ocarina of Time, which is in and of itself blasphemy. OoT is highly rated and loved because it is an OVERALL masterpiece of a game, from it's revolutionary gameplay all the way to its side quests. You cannot simply pass off one of the greatest games of all time as being only good because of what you perceive as their only redeeming qualities
The world's love for FFVI is NOT simply Kefka and the Opera Scene. In fact the opera scene is one of the most transcendantly overanalyzed moments in gaming. People love VI because of it's characters, it's stories, and the fact that you can turn Locke into a God if you so much as search the right dungeons! The gripping story of VI COMBINES with its villain to make it one of the best RPGs...and Kefka DOES have motivation. HE'S A HORRIBLE PERSON: THAT'S WHY HE'S SUCH A GOOD VILLAIN.
Sephiroth isn't even the REAL villain of FFVII, and NEITHER is Rufus. Rufus is a moneygrubbing dick who thinks he's in control of the world, and Sephiroth is a poor deluded momma's boy who thinks he's an aberrant monster. JENOVA is the true villain of FFVII if you even BOTHER to analyze everything that's going on. The problem is that SE couldn't make that sell, so they pinned it all on the white-haired prettyboy.
Sephiroth and Kefka are both really great villians in the opposite categories for what is considered evil. Insane category (for Kefka) and the Calm-and-decieving type (Sephiroth). I've played both games and I think they're both just straight up crazy!
One could not draw close to Cloud Strife in any conceivable way. Nothing that happens to him is BELIEVABLE. He's a washed out man who clings to a past that isn't even his for 90% of the damned game. THE REASON PEOPLE LIKE VI IS BECAUSE EVERY CHARACTER HAS SOMETHING SOMEONE CAN AT LEAST TRY TO RELATE TO! Trying to say Cloud Strife is more relateable than the characters of FFVI is cause to have your head examined.
In terms of everything, FFVI's music is BETTER because of what it accomplished on an INFERIOR SYSTEM. Also, you're always entitled to like ominous Latin chanting, that's why they put it in. But One Winged Angel is nothing more than a glorified anthem to how awesome their character is. Dancing Mad encompasses everything that is Kefka and chaos itself, and has FOUR different moods to bring you through before it's over. IT'S 17 MINUTES LONG!!!!!!!
@UmbreonMessiah I'm going to agree with Hacimed. FF7, IMO, had better music and story. I'm not attacking you or hating this game. I"m just stating my opinion <.<
Before you come on to a public forum to denounce one of the best games that has been made with slipshod excuses for reasons, try to remember there are those of us who actually understand games more deeply than the superficial surface you seem to be glancing at. It will make you seem like much LESS of a moron.
@hacimed "...overall VI cannot stand up to VII in terms of music"
.....stopped reading right there. Excuse me if I don't like angsty, bloated drama about fashionable teenagers. The music often reflects it in those games, too.
@hacimed Dude, dancing mad is better(not much better) than One winged angel. And I found the in game music in ff6 to be way more envolving that 7. I don´t care about who is the best villain, but Kefka actually turned the world in ruins. I actually agree with your last point, but ff7 has some things that annoy me, so as 6. Overall I think ff6 is better, with 7 being my second favourite
@UmbreonMessiah Whats is up with people arguing over this same subject? o-o It all just comes down to the fact it just people opinion...If one person thinks ff7 is better than the other. Let him be. If you think ff6 is better, more power to you...
I always wondered: what ARE the enemies you are fighting before Kefka? At first I thought the three series of fights were related to the three statues. Do they even have names?
I love how in this version of the game, Dancing Mad flows flawlessly through the four stages. In the others, it just skips straight to the other tiers of the song.
Yes, Dancing Mad is my favorite FF Song of all time.
one of my most favorite fights

Tier 1-Hell. the Devil is stuck to his waste in Hell
Tier 2-Purgatory. Humans animals and machines represent it
Tier 3-Rest and Lady represent Jesus and Mary, so its like a Holy land
Tier 4-Kefka is god in Heaven, ruler of his Tower and the world

Makes sense. Leave it to the Japanese to do something awesome like that.

I do. You can only bring in 12 people to Kefka's lair, meaning 2 people get left out. I left behind Shadow and Umaro.

PerfectGenius23 3 years ago
They do, but they're not listed in the game.
UmbreonMessiah 3 years ago
They're called, in order of appearence;
"Face, Short Arm, Long Arm"
"Tools, Hit, Magic, Tiger"
"Girl, Sleep"
Most of them, however, are parodies of Rennaisance and religious art, making Kefka a twisted play on Lucifer.
NoAsking 3 years ago
Thanks! I actually didn't know all of that.
...though why I didn't see the Kefka as Lucifer thing sooner...
