  • who says our ancestors were primitive, they built these, the pyramids, easter island statues, machu pichu, nazca lines etc!

  • @Arwyroe We built an orbiting research space station. Modern Times win

  • @ words (Bad-Ass)

  • also, the "fountains" are actually drops of water shaken loose of the surface from the side of the bowl, which are then launched off of the resonating water's surface as the water comes up at an anti-node, it's kind of like throwing ping-pong balls on a field full of jackhammers(yea, what an awesome analogy... can't really think of a better one though)

  • yes i love this are so good

  • Not too bad, I actually like it!!! It's a lot better than some other video I was watching were someone said they had a fountain bowl, but had to beat the hell out of it, just to make it work.

  • @mookyan2000 Yes - you could probably get that effect with any Tibetan singing bowl. You're obviously quite an expert and connoissewer

  • @mountainbellmusic Actually, only a small percentage of bowls are actually "fountain bowls". We tried out a number of them from our inventory, and about half would give some "fountain" effect, but the one in the video was obviously the best. It is the continuous vibration of the bowl's walls that create the fountain, so while you can beat the bowl to get it to work, it won't sustain. Look for a bowl with good resonance, and a thick wall, and then try it out.

  • @ecarne1 Well I've sorted through thousands of bowls and own around 350 and from these there are 3 that I call Fountain Bowls. If you watch my other videos you'll see that I've got it covered (what you say/advise) VISIBLE SOUND and POWER OF SOUND. What I call Fountain Bowl (as you can read in my words accompanying that video) are those with a line in an unusual place inside the bowl and when water is filled to that level the 'fountain' is produced without any trickery. But thank you.

  • @ecarne1 Actually I initiated this term back in 1980s basing it upon the Chinese Fountain Bowl which, as you doubtless know, is a specific design but nevertheless it has markings for how much water to fill in order to get the right effect. It is a beautiful effect similar to Water Sound Images and Cymatics. That was when I got the first bowl for this effect and it seemed natural to give it this title. Namaste. Thank you for your kind words.

  • @ecarne1 actually, any bowl that produces sound like this CAN be a fountain bowl, it just depends on if the right amount of water is in the bowl.

as you might know, the bowl's sound is caused by vibrations, and it's frequency depends on the amount of water inside the bowl.

the bowl WILL function as a fountain bowl if the frequency of the bowl itself is in phase with the water's own harmonic frequency or one of it's overtones, because that causes resonance between the bowl and the water

  • @mountainbellmusic Your right, I'm not an expert so, if you need advice go talk to the Dalai Lama or someone from the Black Hat Sect!!!! You know what I think you must be Bon Po Happy!!!!

  • @mookyan2000 I doubt if they know anything about singing bowls or fountain bowls. Black Hat Sect - Buddhist. I am happy without any affiliation. As it happens I do not need any advice. The Dalai Lama has great respect for Bon. I'm afraid that I derive little benefit from your opinions, comments, or doubtful advice but something tells me that you'll persist. Of course 4 plus 2 = 6.

  • @mountainbellmusic The first step to wisdom is to admit that you don't know everything but, it's obvious that this doesn't apply to you. You won't stop until you prove to the whole world that you're the singing bowl, Himalayan bowl, Indian singing bowl or even middle eastern singing bowl KING!!!!!!

  • @mookyan2000 Ah, so now we get down to it! Jealousy. The first step to wisdom may indeed lie in admitting that one doesn't know everything. The next step is to find someone who does, it's obvious that this doesn't apply to you. You have misapprehended me. I don't relate to the road you insist I am on. I can say without fear of equivocation that you do not own a Talking Bowl - you may own what Americans call a Talking Bowl but that is not it. You own what we call a Jump Bowl.

  • @mookyan2000 I received my first singing bowl in 1971 so I've learnt a fair bit in almost 40 years. The Talking Bowl I have was brought over by H.H. Dilgo Khyntse Rinpoche - a very wise man who gave so many valuable teachings. I'd have thought that the first step to wisdom is to put aside the lower mind. You should try it some time and take a rest from that ego-driven arrogant, disparaging, and destructive form of creativity that you go in for. That holier-than-thou sanctimoniousness. Judge not.
