  • @18fluffycloud 離開以後

  • I have audio cassettes that my mom recorded so long ago of this guy.

  • There aren't really a lot of good interviews one can get from asian stars. This is probably one of the most smooth interview with an asian star in english ever occured. At least he's telling what he thinks

  • Poor English.

Even Susan Boyle speaks clearer English than JC.

  • @beavertown2006 Well, he speaks at least 2 other languages decently :)

  • @beavertown2006 then you try talking in cantonese or chinese. its an interview for thoughts and views.... not an interview for ENGLISH TEACHER, dont even come thinking to troll over Jacky cheung

  • 香港歌神

  • @hahahakinn Nope~~ 華語/亞洲歌神!~~

  • Hi can anyone let me know which song he dedicated for Leslie Cheung and Anita Mui? Thanks

  • hahaha ,hongkonger?????? hahahahah, what's hongkonger???? hamburger???

  • @lkfczzw what's so funny? shut up you dumb

  • @lkfczzw Please don't be so childish. A Hongkonger is somebody who comes from HK and a Sydneysider is somebody who comes from Sydney, in case you don't know!

  • What is the name of his first song in the show?

  • @judithwing 離開以後

  • @obe1stx thanks :)

  • how would he not win the contest?

  • "...you need to explore yourself..." ROFLCOPTER

  • Jacky's english isn't fluent but his english songs are tremendous.

  • till now i'm still curious bout they gained their title 4heavenly king. i know the 4 are extremely famous not likes other through world wide its like legend.

  • No offense, but he looked like and acted like a fag in Jet Li's Meltdown.

  • why he is a bit stutter?>

  • @tiantian036 maybe his English was not as well as we imagine

  • what! i didn't know his family is from tianjin! it's my hometown.

  • Can you please tell me the English name of the song at the start of the video? Thank you! :3

  • She likes Elton John too.

  • I don't know if it's me, but i felt like the host isn't responding to Jacky' on a personal level, it's like she's reading from the script in the early parts of the interview.

  • Lorraine Hahn is a MILF ! lol

  • 佢英文好勁= =

  • @siukityu211

    Are you serious???

  • He's cool

  • Whats the song at 1:06?

  • "you have to explore yourself"? rofl oh jacky...

  • Hopefully to Jacky interview "Be My Guest" on TVB. Stephen Chan should of approach him & all of the Four Heavenly Kings.

  • uh no he is. Just cos you move somewhere else doesn't mean you're instantly become another person. Some ppl are pretty weird on youtube, thumbing me down for stating the truth. Living in your little bubble much?

  • Only Andy and guo fu cheng are canto.

  • his family's from tianjin, which is a city right next to beijing. It's mainland.

    He's from the mainland lol

  • that's dumb , his family may be but not him.

  • Actually, Jacky was born and raised in Hong Kong.

  • @jcfanatic0710

    yep....Jacky is a Hongkonger

  • One Word : Talented!!!!

  • i think he is sooo charminggg

  • Jacky Cheung is the best Hong Kong has to offer...

There will never be another artist that could replace him in the industry.

Through his music and his vocal ability, he's a legend in his own right.

The one and only Jacky Cheung!

  • the host suks,i dont like her fuking fake smiling face.

  • he has cantonese accent at 2:20-2:21

  • Agree with everyone, he's truly the pride of HK, way to represent. I'm not surprise that he's fluent in English, he's internationally popular afterall. I mean, could he have done all those concerts globally if he can only sing and communicate in Chinese? It may take him a while to translate in his head, but he gets the message across using more than one sentence.

  • Oh shut up Lorraine you old slut stop trying to sound as if you speak Chinese . You haven't changed 1 bit since our school days , always ashamed of your Asian roots and pretending you are " kind of " white . Fucking joker and getting ugly too.

  • Amen to that brother!

  • You should have seen her at school - just as tartish and 2x as desperate ;)

  • hahahaa u spoke of her as if u knew her. i kno what u mean, i knew ppl like that thruout school. but they all come out of the 'closet' when they get older.

  • hello whats the song called at 1:36 where jacky does the hip hop

  • This song is called "屈到病", not sure about the English name of it though. It's track #3 in his "Sensitive world" (過敏世界) album released in 1995. He also sang this song in his "The Year of Jacky Cheung World Tour 07" concert. If you have the Hong Kong version CD or DVD, it's track #2, disc 2.

  • Don't you know that his wife insists that they could only speak English with their daughters? If he can't speak English, how could they do that? BTW, this is what I read from the newspaper.

  • Never knew he can speak english

  • Mr. Cheung's English is quite decent!!!

  • @LouAu I believe most HK borned and raised artists do all speak exceptional english :D but Jacky does speaks great english :D

  • holy shit i cant believe it's been 4 years....i remember seeing this on cnn

  • Who sang the song "Jia Yi Bing Ding" with Jacky? I think there are 2 other guys, anyone know?

  • His english is good ;) I love Jackie's early stuff :)

  • wut is the name of the song in 7:30 ????

  • The song is composed by Jacky. It is called "This winter not too cold" 這個冬天不太冷. It is track #3 in his "This winter not too cold" album, released in 1994.

  • This winter is not too cold. 1994-1995 song (cantonese). Dancing song, pretty good.

  • I have all his songs in my computer:)

  • i hate it when he thinks.. he goes er er er er errrrrrr errrr.... *blink blink*

  • haha damn u

  • didn't know he can speak english so well! still a tinge of the HK accent though.

  • Jacky,i love u,u r the best forever!~

  • what was the song at 3.40?? I love it.

  • It is called 深海 which literally means "Deep Sea". Search for "張學友 深海". You may copy and paste the Chinese characters if you can't type Chinese. Or you may search for "shen hai", the pinyin of the title.

  • his english is about as good as my chinese lol

  • wow his english is not bad...never knew he can speak english...GO GO JACKY!!!

  • sure good la english,If not how to be recognised worldwide and being a super star.God of singer..lolzzz

  • wow...never heard him speaking English before, it impress me a lot ~

I think its quite gd since English is not his mother tongue.

Really a great singer ! He's humble and worth for adorable !!

  • Haha, I love Jacky Cheung for his music and movies. Especially his COMEDY roles in movies, they crack me up like crazy and his laugh is really funny and infectious!

  • god i love listening to him... since i was 3... lol great...

  • me too.

    jacky u are the best!!!

  • ooops.....sorry the song is called "这个冬天不太冷"!!!!1

  • No doubt Jacky is a legand.

  • wow... he speaks English better than andy o.0

  • Does anyone know the title of the song 7:28, just after the break?

  • 这个冬天不太冷

  • hi does anyone know what the song is called at the opening of this video

  • it call "離開以後"

  • love Jacky forever

  • priceless!

  • His English is not bad. =)

  • his english is so bad lol

  • Actually it is pretty good, considering how seldom he speaks English. He articulates the words quite clearly (no subtitles required) and uses some nice expressions. I think he probably needs a little more time to think in Cantonese, then translate the thoughts into English, and hence the ums and ahs. That's the way it is with those who do not use the language daily. At least I empathise with him. I'll fare much worse if I were asked to attend an interview in Cantonese.

  • No. He can think directly in English.

  • how did they manage to pin down 1 of the four heavenly king for a interview.

  • he has AMERICAN english

  • i have never heard him speak eng... wow...

  • why are you popular for ballad-type songs?!?! 'cause he sings them so well! and kudos to jacky; he can speak great mando, english, and canto!!

  • doe anybody know where the video on the end is I am a big jacky fan too

  • That song is called "This Winter Not Too Cold", composed by Jacky Cheung in 1994.

  • He is absolutely the best man among all that I know! Proud of him! and can't believe I have such a good taste LOL~~~ His English and Mandarin are definitely way better than other HK pop stars! He is the god!

  • God of cantopop...

  • He did cut an english album too but not quite it.Anyway, there is no doubt that he is still the god od songs(asia).

  • OMG His english is soooo good!

  • lol ..i agree

  • He is really a great person.

I appreciate what he done for Leslie Cheung.

  • proud of him! btw, he speaks good english, i never knew about it before!

  • wow on cnn

  • aww.. i really wish that aaron kwok could come for this interview too. Such a pity..

  • yeah, agree with you.

I would like to see Aaron Kwok in this show too.

  • Can Aaron Kwok speak english? He can't even speak mandarin well.

  • He can definitely speak Mandarin, he is popular all over China for many years now; I have watched many Chinese shows which have interviews of him speaking Mandarin, so 100% definitely that he can.

  • wat's the song in the opening shot?

  • its called 離開以後(After You Left)

  • ok. What song is in the opening shot??? i like it~

Thanks so much for posting - he's my favorite chinese singer ^_^!!!

  • two chinese? why don't they use mandarin? =.=

  • because most of the people watching are americans, I thinks so

  • wow he's so cute and humble,

    love this man

  • omg, never thought that he has such good english!! WOW

  • OMG, his English is excellent !!

  • love him as a singer:D he's truly the best.. and i agree that he's modest and very humble.. he doens't walk around the streets with his head held high.. he's definately not cocky , arrogrant or snobby like.. thats why i admire him even more:)

some shitty stars like edison chen, nicholas tse.. are one of those snobby stars that think they are the best are something when they are nothing but garbage singers.

  • Thanks for sharing the clips, it's great to learn more about one of the greatest Chinese singers.

  • Though I think Alan Tam is a lil' better, I'm also a fan of Jacky's. His english is pretty good but the one english album he put out is hard as hell to find. I'm still taken back by how good his english is. It's better than Andy Lau's.

    Thanks for posting.

  • I think Jacky lived in California for awhile.

  • Thanks for posting these clips, this is a great redistribution source. Wouldn't have seen it otherwise :)

  • I love this CNN TalkAsia interview with Jacky Cheung.

  • Thanks for sharing... Didn't know Jacky speaks English that well... More impressively, he is very humble...

  • thanks for the clip. jacky cheung forever!!!!

  • really love Jacky

    nice clip haha

  • Thank for posting this CNN clip. Jacky Cheung well deserves the accolades. It seems he one of the most grounded Asian artist who continues to make positive news for himself and his nation. He is one of the premier voices. And I would say his ballads are well-loved, but so are his fast songs and entertaining dancing.

  • Yeah, I'm really impressed by his Multi-talent.

  • we all pound of you!I will support you forever.

  • I'm so proud of jacky :) I hope he keeps doing what he does. :)
