starter? my brother in laws 1990 chev has a bad starter and it clicks and clicks on cold and somtimes hot and my brothers yamaha bruin on very cold days the strarter clicks when u hit the gas when tryin to cold start
I installed a new solenoid but that didnt work. So I put the old solenoid back in and replaced the negative battery cable and that worked. So I hope that helps
Oh yeah. I forgot to say that my truck started sometimes, but it has nothing to do with the weather. What happens is that the negative cable gets jostled around and it will work sometimes and not other times.
So what I would do to start my truck until I fixed it was pop the hood and grab and move the negative cable back and forth and then go try to start my truck. it worked
So yeah, go try and jostle it around before you try and start it and see what happens. hope that helps
hey, I had this same problem with my 89 ranger. Im not saying I have the answer. However, my truck is older and so is your bike, so this may be your problem as well.
The negative battery cable coming from my battery was cracked and heavily corroded. After I replaced that, my ranger was good as new.
Maybe youd like to know what I did first. I regrounded my solenoid. When that didnt work, I installed a new solenoid just to be sure. Hope that helps.
Yea and I think it's the switch down where I pointed because it'll click but wont turn over so it could be a bad switch or whatever that's called because it's not completing the circuit.
Ummmm.... I'd worry more about getting some front brakes! Last I checked, there isn't a "Flintstone hatch" on the Nighthawk... Just sayin'....

Did you ever get it fixed? I just bought this same year and model bike, and it has the same problem.

Cool that's what I was thinking it was, because I can jump the solenoid and it'll start right up.
