  • lifes finnally making sense, evrything is a hologram you cut the film but still just gonna have a smaller piece of the same pictures, life is infinite. we'll be alright yoo!

  • waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh sooooooooo coooooooooolllll

  • The perfection of this.. disgusts me.

  • Luvd it

  • 2:06 ... Swastika!

  • theres a swastika in ur thumbnail picture

  • Infinite..

  • This is an awesome introduction. Thank you :)

  • Great example of a Mandelbrot set fractal.

  • Very good video!

In my video The Paradox of Schrodingers Cat an artist view it is Time that is the Hidden Variable. Time has symmetry and geometry that can explain the paradoxes of Quantum Physics. Could an understanding of the time continuum give us a greater understanding of fractals?

  • So Awesome!

  • im in 6th grade and i watched this in my classs rommmm and it ws so cool

  • como pasar al formato wmv el xaf de xaos

  • I think you would like my fractal video! click on my username:)

  • when he starts zooming out at 2:10 its amazing.

  • A bit of Pink Floyd Goes well with this video , like Arthur Clakre's Documentary about the Mandelbrot had Pink Floyd , There seems to be a formula to it :

Excellance = Mandelbrot times Pink Floyd squared

    E = M*PF2

  • that's from a program called xaos

  • Brilliant

  • that's heaps awesome. freaky at first but it looks gr8

  • it jus keeps goooiiinnggg!!!!

  • and it will go on forever, with no perfect repetition.

  • I think that fractals are one of the most fascinating areas of mathematics. When you look at nature and see all those weird and irregular patterns, then compare them with a fractal pattern, it makes you realise that mathematics is so all encompassing.

  • britecho exactly. As an atheist, the fractal is as close as we'll come to god. A pattern that is more complex than the universe and a blueprint of all life.

  • To people like Einstein, that is exactly the definition of God. The architect, the pattern and the will of the Universe all at once.

    Hail physics.

  • stfu

  • so is a fractal 2D, 3D or both?

  • has anyone REALLLLLY come to this realization??do you realize that we are the little small fractal magnified at 2000x

and the big fractal picture being the universe?? think about it.

  • Yes, I've accually thought about that the universe look like a big fractal.

The spiral form for example is found in galaxies, forming solarsystems and forming planets.

  • this was not made for some fucked up mushroom trip. this was not made for entertainment.

it was made for knowledge. it was made simple for someone who hasnt studied fractals to able to understand at the first try. has anyone noticed that the world works exactly like this fractal?? the weather, human growth, human behaviour, a tree growing even does the same thing, the food CHAINNNN....EVERYTHING. the list goes on...

  • cool

  • This is so damn trippy

  • Damn let's eat some fungus...

  • LOL wtf

  • wow i'm kinda of a slack but this fascinates me!!!

  • I just downloaded the program and it's like it was tailor made for the ultimate drug trip

  • So simple, yet so beautiful.

  • Brilliant

  • I saw cellular generation in a fractal

  • The thumbprint of God.

  • YES, AGREED.

  • so, a metematical equation produces the images when put into particular computer program?

  • Yes! Read the description! :)

  • what is the equation & what does it relate to in nature or physics etc. does it have a sound/tone as well? thanks.

  • the equation is: x + xi ex. .25 + .25i

the i stands for the square root of -1

toget the fractal, you have to iterate the problem...

  • the designs at 1:21-31 resemble nerve cells more then rivers and lakes

  • Axons and something that sounds like Dendrites.

  • The language here is very imprecise. It says the boundaries contain "miniature copies of the whole set." What exactly does that mean, since each "copy" is "different" from the original? What makes a copy a copy if it's not a copy?

  • It's not really a copy, it's a similar shape. Similar meaning exactly the same other than scale. So it's scaled copies of the whole set.

  • Yes, but that's the thing, they are not exactly the same other than scale. None of them are the same, each is different in some way (not only in scale--each is skewed or mishapen in some way).

What I think they really are is projections, not copies, or transformations? I never liked this part of linear algebra, so don't understand it very well.

  • WIN

  • @DlimitR all edge and no substance?

  • @lpbale0

    Thank you for saying that!

That is like one solution to understanding what matter maybe is.....

All substance is really just an illusion, because 99.99999 percent of all matter is empty space, and so continuing the more closely you look at it, since everything can be split up infinitely. But we still observe it....

  • @greg5566 must be really ugly one

  • There is a swastika around 1:52

  • Um... NO!

  • Um... of course yes. it is white and small, at the center of the image. i am the only one who can see it?? there are some more swastikas in these fractals, look at 2:09 for example.

and anyway, why does my commment has recieved a "-3"?? it is an opinion as valid as any other, and i haven't faulted anybody's respect. and i have not even specified if this is good or bad, my comment doesn't even imply any judgement of value...

  • thats a right facing swastika, the symbol of Jainism, which is the most peaceful religion that has ever existed on earth.

  • Um yes!

  • The link at the end no longer works.

  • :( I wanted to see the rest... hopefully I'll find them here in Utube.

  • Very impressed about the amazing quality of this vid. Splendid work.

  • I feel fractals represent our universe, and thats why we find them so interesting.

Apparently they are produced with a fairly simply mathematical equation.

This in turn is the main goal of science today in understanding our universe, and to finding this equation, the so called "theory of everything".

  • Greetings..A new formula for understanding the nature of reality is being released to the world.

UM=PC Universal matter is a result of perception and choice. and can therefor be altered by perception and choice. Universal matter can represent anything that exists, Matter, Light, Water, Earth, Space..

although much of this has never been considered and will be ridiculed, the concept of the enegry of creation being altered by our perception of it, will become a vast area of study for lifetimes

  • That was just really dumb.

I'm glad, however, that UM comprises both matter AND water and Earth.

  • bu fraktal çok işime yarayacak. teşekkürler

  • If the universe is a fractal,

we will never be able to fully discover it,

because it would take infinite time.

    That sucks!

  • You are wise, my friend.

  • i love the synchromathamystical nature of fractals

  • well, we really shouldn't be questioning the meaning of 'infinite', now should we??

  • In theory this, and other fractals, are infinite. But that depends on what you mean by that. A tree is also infinite, in that you can break down its molecules and atoms (almost) infinitely. But the Mandelbrot set fractal is actually what you might call "final", since it is a finished structure, eventough you can "zoom in" on its many details, in what appears to be infinitely.

  • So is this infinite, and if possible, could a programming language such as Processing recreate this.

  • i see pot at 1:19. lol.

  • GREEEEEEN ^__^

  • I love watching this with the song "Every day" by Carly Comando playing in the background (which is the song playing in the video "Noah takes a picture of himself every day for six years") perfect song for this video i think..

  • Yikes - who needs mood altering substances when you can peer into infinity with a video like this!

  • Double Yikes - who needs a video or substances, when you can astral travel the finite universe as a shaman !

  • Hello! i do not need to be a shaman for that! i do that very regulary. it gives me one of the most free-ing feelings i can feel.

lately i got in contact with, probable my twin soal or such.. anyway, our energies are like melted together evercince. i did not yet meet her, but, in the cosmos we danced. i have never felt more happy cince that!! never!

lil' problem is: we both have a relationship... and that seems to be like "nothing" all of a sudden :|

    Anam Cara!

    Bart

  • The zoom out at the end was great.

  • omfg... we live inside of one of those, you know :P

my fav parts were at 00:58 and the galaxies, and I found that the ''rivers and lakes'' section looked more like frost on a window, but still, the most incredible thing I've ever seen

I throw on some psytrance music when I watch these vids lol, and it can seriously trip you out, no drugs required

  • You can see an entire universe within this simple mathematical formula!

  • @lin2k4 Simple?

  • fuck yes!! thank you...

  • imagine we are all part of a fractal...

  • We are really, if you think about it. There is infinite detail. If you zoom into an atom, you can see what it's made of, then into those electrons, and then into whatever they're made of and so forth. We could be considered part of a fractal.

  • obviously possible, but it's more likely that we ARE those particles mentioned, and motion did not start on Earth...

we are not even ripples on the surface of the multiverse, yet we are a part of the whole

  • Wow, you most likely are correct, inpart. I still think Human Beings , Started Motion with a ( TOOL ) Particle. We have yest to create a Mono Pole Magnetic Atom . Magnatism that is composed of photons, is an attractive force not a repulsive force , what if people in the future or now have created a " repulsive mono pole atom ? " would that atam repulse itself through spacetime to a static gravity vacuum field void of attractive atoms , even 60 billion Years ago ?

  • there's a mono pole? I thought they hadn't achieved that yet...

and magnetism composed of photons? plz explain :) that sounds cool

  • This video is copied from XaoS tutorials. Why do you cite fractint?

  • The software you are using looks like GNU Xaos. Am I right?

  • reminds me of snowflakes, all so similar yet different. Does The Mind create snowflakes as fractals do Mandelbrot sets?

  • i think so :)

  • thank you for making that connection.. i think its extremely relavent.

  • harness the power of the fractal, and we shall be free.

  • the universe = fractals.

    and once you understand that...

    you have EVERYTHING.

  • Why is the universe a spinning square?

  • where did you get this information?

  • What information? I asked a question.

  • I think what Alves003 is getting at is that you seem to be accepting it as a fact that the universe IS a spinning square. So who told you that it is? Or are you asking IF it is?

  • does this simple equation explain how the brain will go on producing and endless variety of imagery when your eyes are closed after using psychedelics? its just using a simple equation and feeding it thru your own complex mind?

  • I've seen this effect when pointing a video camera into a tv and have the video camera view itself and the inside of the TV where it it produces an infinite view of itself and the TV. It's very hard to get the vortex it forms stationary, because, if you are just a fraction of a bit off, it flies all over the place, creating a pulsating effect. But, there IS the fractal effect spinning out into eternity, sometimes, if you place it right.

  • Jesus,

there are some douchebags commenting on this.

seriously, i swear people who E-argue about genius and the definition of fractals prob whack off to their middle school report cards.

    p.s. BiZZaroo

  • im ao bent up!!!!!

  • Fractals are as more elegent than the pictures in my mind. thank you!

  • The complexity of this is so amazing. It delivers an essence on another level

  • I love the notion that each iteration is slightly different. Kind of rings a bell...we're all just fractals. Mathematics is the root of life, the universe and everything.

  • fractals are truly amazing.

  • It is amazing how simply z=z^2+c creates that. And the resemblance to real world things in some parts. It shows just how much mathematics truely is part of the universe.

Do a search on Youtube for "mandelbrot (a warm place)"

This is another great video that has Mandelbrot in it.

  • kool, i hav to do a geometry project and im definetly gonna show this in my presentation. thanks man.

  • mind expanding!

  • also that is why math is beautiful

  • very nice video

  • I've spent the past few hours exploring fractals with Matlab and POV renderer. The Mandelbrot set is amazing. Everything seems to be connected to the idea of scaling and chaos. I feel a revolution coming on in science and understanding. Great video!

  • what a trip!

  • I love it. I am going to memorize that formula.

  • v in that formula is a complex number.(real and imaginary parts)

c is the previous value of that complex number.

repeat the formula for every point on the picture about 100 times and give the point a colour depending on the size of the result.

  • I still don't understand how that formula makes that whole thing or what a fractal is.

  • fractal is simply a word coined to describe the repeating nature of the pattern as you delve deeper into the set. the formula actually uses complex numbers with a real and an imaginary part. If you are interested i can explain further.

  • AMAZING!!

  • holy shit

  • if you like fractals come and discuss with us in . we just opeened up. become a fractal maniac!

  • wouaaaaaaaaawwww that's greaaaaaaaat and nice

  • woooooooooooooooooooow

  • Excellent video!

  • Thank you for posting this! It's excellent

  • Excellent!

  • best mandelbrot tutorial ever seen

  • awesome video
