  • He did not help develop the knife design.. its a LMF2 by Gerber without the glass break pommel and it has an added flint rod. everything else is Gerber LMF2 standard, lol

  • wait a second on my sheath bear signature is on the other Velcro strap

and i got this for $150 in New Zealand

  • @mumblejunkie If you want a Gerber knife that isn't made in China, and doesn't have a pommel mounted to plastic, get the Gerber LMF II ASEK. Same blade type, but American made. Fine quality, Only a few bucks more.

It wont break if you use it as a hammer, hit it with a rock to cut down small trees, or pretty much anything else you throw at it. You have to realize that this knife may be your only survival tool, and it mat leave you stranded at this low quality.Buy his firestarter, that works.

  • сраный показушник

  • This question is open to all. Is it possible to get a copy of just his survival advice. The knife is a little further down the list yet.

  • @Avatar230594 You get the booklet with all his products, if you want it just pick out the cheapest thing of his you want and buy that.

  • @xsaythissoonerx I see, well I might buy the ultimate knife anyway.

  • @Avatar230594 I love it.

  • When he struck the flint with the knife what side did he use? The sharp edge or the other dull side? Was the blade facing towards him or away from him when he was pushing it back? Please respond

  • @homeworkhater00 The back side. There is a special spot on there for the fire steel.

  • @homeworkhater00 it's the back of the blade because you don't want to dull out your knife

  • Good knife, fire steel is very good, its ashame its not full tang

  • Terrible knife, good sheath and comes with a rape whistle!

  • sick knife just got one

  • Hey all, I'm going camping and hiking for a few days but I was wondering if its legal to bring along this knife with me. Apparently this knife can be treated as a weapon in some states and can land out in trouble with the law, especially if its concealed. Any one have any idea on the legality of this knife and how to use it without getting in trouble with the law? Please vote up this comment too - just in case others like myself can use this knife while respecting the law.

  • @guitarMartial If you are camping it shouldn't be a problem, for one thing there arent many cops in the wilderness, also if you arent stabbing everyone alongthe trail with it or waving it around like an idiot, noone should give you any grief in a wilderness situation. In California (where I am) I carry a knife on my belt everywhere (in the city and such) Noone really cares, cops asked once about it (wasnt stopped for it, I just had it on me at the time) but didnt flip out

  • @bilsrylos (part 2) because out here (and I believe in many other states) it is perfectly legal to carry a knife as long as it isnt concealed (though in a wilderness situation it wouldnt be unreasonable to throw it in your backpack) I say better to have it with you and risk the hassle then to not have it with you and find yourself in a survival situation where it is crucial. Good luck camping!

  • Fag*

  • @muskrat123 how is he a gag? He was in the sas which takes a lot of hard workk and now Look at him, he has an amazing life exploring the world and surviving. Now if he is a faggot for that than you must be a boring sad arsehole!!!!!!!

  • Gerber makes shitty knives.

  • bear grylls is faggots and gerber is faggots

  • 欲しい。。

  • Well if it's not full tang then it's ultimate junk! My opinion of course.

  • that knife setup is actually quite impressive, gotta get one.

  • Just got mine LOVE IT

  • >:( Wow parents got mad when I showed them that I wanted this...I WANT IT!

  • 1st;kill with the knife

    2nd;burn the body

3 th;use the manual to escape the situation

    thumbs up :)

  • @karanbarsiwal01 ummm no

  • amazing knife ...bear

  • yeah right,, i bet you dont use it though

  • Y have this knife. :)

  • @mumblejunkie Look at Condor Knife and Tool and Mora. Moras are made in Europe, so they shouldn't cost much more than they do here in the U.S. (Which is about $15/12€. Don't know the conversion rate, so I'm just guessing about the Euro amount.) Condors are made in South America and a bit higher-end, so they'll be more expensive, but still a great value.

  • It's fine as a first knife for a teenager or something, but the sharpener's pretty much pointless. Anyone who knows enough about knives that they can sharpen one probably won't be getting this in the first place. Still, can't fault the guy for trying to make some money.

  • Does it have a piss purifier? Grylls may benefit from it.

  • Im going to eat it right now *eating*it tast like chikhen

  • i like bear but not his knives (you also wont see him using them in his shows for a clear reason^^) better buy yourself a mora knife and a cheap magnesium steel rod. not only cheaper but also better quallity.

  • Got mine yesterday it is amazing go Bear!

  • "pfft, sparks? what like lighting a m- HOLLY SH**!!!"

  • the fire really caught my attention wow.. this is amazing

  • fucking serated edge ,mskes no sense you can widdle with that alothough the flint bar and sharpener is cool

  • For those who keep asking: replacement fire steel - gerbergear /Survival/Gear

  • but still the rent is to DAMN high.

  • Its not full tang :(

  • where would i get a new ferro rod fo this knife

  • Ive had my Bear ultimate survival knife since Christmas, and Ive done everything from throwing it at a cement block to chopping a 3 inch thick sapling. The diamond sharpener on the back is okay, the fire starter is superb the whistle is gay;) the steel handle is handy and the sheath is wonderful. the little book on survival is actually pretty informal too. I like it.

  • @YahooManUp99 any idea where to get a new fire steel, i can't find one online or at any store

  • Oh well I didn't see the first ones sent out but my brothers hasn't been truly tested yet but I think their decent knives but for the same price I would definitely get a bk2 I love that knife like crazy. It can pull a car apart if you wanted it too.

  • I want one. Not interested in little girls comments who never slept out-let alone had to survive a few days. It has lots of things other knives for the same price don't come close to. People who actually go camping learn to look after their gear and as a rule don't throw their kit about or stick it into wood trying to snap it. Nothing is indestructable! Look after your gear and am sure it will look after you. Act like a boy with a knife and am sure there will be tears. Only problem £55 in uk:-(

  • even the arrow on the knee can't stop this man from adventure

  • A built in sharpener and a fire steel really is nice for a survival situation. No one knife is perfect for all things but I would love to have this one if I got stranded.

  • 1 hell of a knife if you ask me

  • Maybe for survival, but not useful for cooking no? Lol. xD

  • Spend the extra $10 and buy a Buck Vanguard. Much better hunting/survival knife and not made in China

  • @JS6875 This is more a utility knife lol, its not comparable. You dont need such a nice edge for real unless you are planning to hunt boars with a knife. Though i am not too sure of the quality of the stainless steel myself.

  • Does anyone know what fleece he's wearing?

  • Anyone that thinks this knife is garbage doesn't know what there talking about. My brother has this knife and let me say it's not a bad knife at all. The only thing I can agree on is the serations are not good at all but my bro has the fine edge one and it does good. That being said iam the proud owner of a Becker bk2 and this knife definitely isn't as good as my Becker. The 440c stainless doesn't hold an edge as good as 1095cv. This knife is good but not great. It'll baton and get the job done

  • @ag9ification when these knives were first sold lots of them were failing. the serrations were chipping off, the handles were snapping, and the handles near the metal butt plate were breaking. these knives were trash. The first one I had the handle snapped the first time I used it, I tried to split a small piece of pine. Supposedly Gerber has fixed the issues. time will tell if my replacement holds up. I will never buy another Gerber blade either. Also their customer service sucks.

  • showed best survival knife in the world, better drink my own piss LOLOLOL

  • now it justs needs a colt .45 with clip on magizines :P

  • I wish we could get the clothing line in North America. I wonder what fleece he is wearing?

  • I stabbed someone with this knife 5 times and it did what I intended, killed the guy.

I also used a butter knife and did the same thing for 89.95 $ less !

I guess it's a matter of looking good when ur slashing !!!!

  • Who would want to buy anything endorsed by a piece of shit like Bear Grylls?

  • @EthanJM how is bear grylls shit. Maybe you need to work out whos the peice of shit here

  • @ThePoloDoc lol, that is pretty much all I have to do, is laugh. If you don't know why Bear Grylls is a piece of shit, you didn't get the memo. He is a sham, a fake, fraud, attention seeker. Anyone with their head on their shoulders knows it, it is old news.

  • @EthanJM Sounds slightly like jealousy being honest. The man is a success and an idol to many, you cannot fault him for that

  • @Appclypse Oh gawd.... Jealousy remarks are always low and hollow, anytime someone criticizes all you have to do is say that person is jealous. If you don't know he is a fraud you are living under a rock. You have to be seriously ignorant and or stupid to idolize this idiot. I CAN fault him for his fraud.

  • @EthanJM Go on then, educate me.

  • @Appclypse /watch?v=BBmhNA7JME4 /watch?v=3UpSlpvb1is

  • @EthanJM hahaha grow up mate, that's the entertainment world, you can go right ahead and question that all you want but your a moron if you believe anything is transparent in that job. This man has climbed Everest, served with 21 SAS and broken his back parachuting yet he still comes back to it. I'm sure your credentials are far more impressive but go ahead by all means claim superiority....

If you don't believe he tells the truth about his past that's fine, but provide solid evidence.

  • @Appclypse There is never an excuse for being a scam like he is. His credentials become irrelevant once he proves he will scam others into believing lies to boost his paycheck. Makes anyone with common sense question everything about him, and for good reason, he deserves his ridicule. Besides, his knife, it isn't so "ultimate". It is a Gerber, which means it is only overpriced junk with a Gerber name on it. Just another lie to widen his wallet. Keep being a fan boy then.

  • @EthanJM Welcome to the entertainment world mate, this guy trained as a soldier and soldiers do as they are told. He doesn't write the show he just presents it as he is told to do so. You can't blame the man for making some money from his profession, he has a family to support, one he no doubt wants to give a good life.

  • @EthanJM At the end of the day not everything he does in his shows is real or dangerous, but plenty of it is and he puts his body on the line for our entertainment.

But that aside you want to know the big secret of it? Reality is boring. Do you watch deadliest catch and think "wow this looks awesome" when actually all it is is being fucking freezing and stuck on a shitty little boat all day, or watch cops and think that all police are constantly involved in gun battles? Welcome to reality.

  • @Appclypse The irony of all this, those shows are "reality" television, yet reality sucks for television (allegedly), so they are all unrealistic, lol. I don't buy into reality television. It irritates me that Bear Grylls is a proven scam, it has been proven blatantly obvious, but he deceives his audience into thinking it is real when it is not. His audience is being tricked into thinking something fake is real. That is the problem. I would respect him more if the lies stopped.

  • @EthanJM his show is 100% real. its not a show saying (hes surviving out on his own) its a show teaching you how to survive. sometimes they need to set things up so that they can show you incase it ever happens to you. obviously hes not going to purposefully dive into an ice cave and potentially kill himself, but he will safely go in one and explain things for you. he really eats that stuff, really rock climbs no safety equipment, really builds shelters.

  • @randomuser942464 You need to check out those two video links I left below.

  • @EthanJM ive seen all the behind the scenes vids before, even bears episode that shows behind the scenes. but what you dont realise is no matter how set a situation may be it still can be real and dangerous. its like wrestling, yes it scripted and there not really punching each other and people like the ref help but it is still men being thrown in the air and on the ground and doing dangerous stunts. the show is set up but he does everything real. besides, he doesnt pretend its real

  • Bear is my hero

  • honestly if i get one i like want to get lost in the woods after

    :)

  • I want one!!!!!!

  • where can i get this knife? *_*

  • I've got quiet a collection of knives for my outdoors trips and I must say, I bought this knife and it's by far the best in the fact that it feels so comfortable in your hand. It's balanced perfectly, it feels strong and the rubberised grip is such that you have full control of the knife. It's great

  • Gimmicky, I'd say novelty item if you are a true outdoors man i think you would go with something else.

i can only imagine what crowd this is marketed to.

  • @Ampex101 It's a gorgeous knife. Extremely functional and trumps a lot of other survivor knives on the market today.

  • How you going to sharpen the serrated edge with that stone?

  • Plus you can light those instructions on fire because the print is too small to read "in the wild" and it's not laminated so it won't last more than a trip.

  • Gerber makes some nice blades for sure, but I'll stick to my Leatherman cause it can do so much with so little weight. I once fought off a Grizzly bear using just the pliers! It wasn't a huge Grizzly Bear... maybe 6 or 7 feet tall.... it could have also been Bigfoot I'm not sure. And the wire cutters come in handy when fishing for King Salmon... helps to remove the hooks. No wait your knife is very cool... so I think I'll carry both! Where are your knives made?

  • I got the knife and it feels great in the hand. The fire rod works well. I can't wait to try it out next deer season. I will also be taking it to the Boundary Waters this summer.

  • That nice! But just imagine the price.... You better start eating what he eats!

  • @MundoSurrealdeMeny its only like 50

  • It's got a sharpener just in case your a bit bored and you have some spare time to craft your set of crayons.

  • I want to have it!!!!!!!

  • 0:26 check out that face.... xD

  • @iPhoNiiCz its a totaly normal face you weirdo

  • hmmmm lets see a stress test then Ill buy it. I have owned many survival knives over the years and have had many knives fail on me while on my trecks through central and south america (Gerber Included) To date the only knives that have super impressed me is K-Bar Next Gen Marine knife and the Cold Steel Khukri SK5 both take a lickin and keep on tickin also Ontario knives are super tough. But I just cant trust these Bear Grylls until I see a real stress test...

  • this knife is an epic fail the heavy duty pommel breaks off when used as any type of hamer

I like bear but not his knife

  • Bear is my idol!

He is in one word best! Very smart guy and interesting too!

  • What about your very expensive custom survival knives? Those are the only ones I really want to see. :/

  • @CopainTv

its not meant to its a survival knife not a millitary knife

  • @QsGREG It is supposed to blend, you know.

  • good for him he looks happy

  • I have got that knife its good

  • what kind of watch is he wearing

  • But will it blend?

  • I want to see a video of someone trying out this knife, testing the pommel, accidentally smashing the whistle before remarking "I was gonna demonstrate the kick- arse whistle next..."

  • i'd rather carry a mora

  • Shitty

  • Bear fuck Chuck Norris !

  • man...get me that ak - 47 and some ammounition...lets do it real men style...fail next day...I NEED MORE AMMUNITION...DAMN THIS DAY...BEAR GRYLS - here use this knife...man - OMg it's a noob knife...ASAIN Dude - "GET ME THE KATANA"!...now it's asain time...hell yea!...=)

  • that's why asains do everything...

  • @croc123able OHOHO U SO FUNI

  • how long is blade?

  • Finally a knife that works, you have no idea how much ivr been on a plane that has crash landed onto a desert island.

  • @splashers4evar haha with a 6" survival knife

  • that's what she said

  • he kinda looks like bradley cooper

  • At CycleUK

I got this knife for christmas and today did some testing on it and it seems pretty good

  • Could anyone tell me if this one is any good. PM me if you need to. Thanks.

  • @CycleUK na, it sucks bro, there's a vid on youtube that shows the handle breaking. My bro has it and its not all its cracked out to be, pretty mediocre. If you really want to get it, go for the Gerber LMF II. It's military grade and comes in black, desert, or foliage green. Pretty much the same design but tougher.

  • @echosixnoble Thanks for the advice mate. It's a shame it's so bad saying as he is one of the best survival experts in the world. :)

  • @CycleUK np bro, did you check out the gerber LMF? I guess that's why you don't see him using his products on the show. LoL Good luck in finding a knife.

  • @echosixnoble he do use it in Borneo Jungle

  • Got it for christmas

  • got it for christmas it makes me want to drink my piss

  • @iloveboobies123144 is that bad or good? D:

  • needs more cowbell

  • ly impressed

  • I got this for Christmas and I can not stop sharing at it it is very beautiful and it comes sharp which I like I also have already started a fire for fun wit it I will have to say I am real

  • I just got this today for Christmas. I gotta say... Fucking BEAST! Makes me wanna jump out of a plane out in the middle of nowhere!

  • Love mine too. Couldn't agree with you more. Mind definitely stood up to the test! Thanks bear

  • have innstruction in french?

  • I want this for christmas!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The thing about this knife is, it gets a lot of crap from people, except, for what you get, this knife is very practical. You just have to own one to see for yourself. I just opened mine, and was a little sketchy, but once I held it, I was pretty much sold.

  • @2facedninja It gets alot of crap from knife people because its heavy marketed to non-knife people. due to that fact it is over hyped by gerber and costs a premium for the name. You can be sold on a 15 dollar knife if it had his name on it.

  • @1ohtaf1 Agreed, but it does not cost a premium. $40 for a decent knife, sharpener, fire starter, whistle and good sheath, is a good value.

  • @smithj033 idk where you buy yours from but in my country they cost 10-20 dollars more than a 7'' kabar fighting/utility knife. Even if you really like the design, you can get a LMF2 its basicly the same knife, better sharpener in the sheath for beginners and has a better steel.

  • @1ohtaf1 Here in the US, the Prodigy and Ultimate are about $40 and the LMF II is $65. According to Gerber's website, all three knives use 420HC steel. The Ultimate is the best value of the three. I just hate the BG branding on it.

  • @smithj033 Lukcy yo guys have it so cheap, but the lmf2 has a 12c27 blade steel.

  • @1ohtaf1 They changed the blade material a while back. Straight from Gerber's website:

    Item # 22-41629

    Overall Length: 10.59"

    Blade Length: 4.84"

    Weight: 24.28 oz. (w/ Sheath)

    Weight: 11.67 oz. (w/o Sheath)

    Blade Material: 420HC Stainless

  • @smithj033 those cheap basterds

  • @1ohtaf1 PRETTY MUCH! lol Damn marketing tactics, selling us out. Not exactly at this, but in general.

  • i wish he was my uncle

  • Thank you Sir! You will save many souls, and for this us Swiss Knights are your servants! Keep up the good work, we send you love, respect and blessings. Thank you 3x more than infinity! NON NOBIS DOMINE...

  • It used to be a good knife. Until it took an arrow to the sheath...

  • The new variant also has a TV remote, a cheese grater, and the handle doubles up as a light saber, in the sheath, there is a george foreman leanmean grilling machine and an ipod, because apple bought in to it to... but the best feature, it all folds out like a transformer of a peewee herman bike for when you need to get the hell out of there...

  • dear santa...

  • All I want for Christmas is ....

  • isnt this an LMF II with extras?

  • @Recon985 I think the LMF is more heavy duty and made with a better steel. As far as looks and design ya they are just about the same. If you arent going to really beat on it I would save a few bucks and get the grills knife or a prodigy over the LMF.

  • it is like the better version of the bear grylls knife minus the kool sheath

  • @Recon985--yeah I would echo Pac's suggestion, with a little "+1" next to the prodigy. I really like the smaller size. Lighter and just a little easier for detail work. I did a video review on my blog and dubbed it the best urban survival fixed blade (maybe a little bit of an overstatement, cause I haven't tried em all, but still...)

  • He forgot the urineation tube attachment which runs directly from your genitals, up to your mouth

  • Lacks auto aim!

  • Love that knife. Used it a ton this summer in the backcountry, great design work!

  • Cool. I'd love to go out into the wild, but I don't think your allowed to just survive in the wild, isn't it against the law?

  • It's a prettier model of the Gerber Prodigy... if they make this knife with a full flat edge, it may be even better

  • They actually do create sparks like that.

  • i have that. it creates no where near that much sparks

  • I might get the survival knife for x-mas this year I can't freggin wait

  • I might get this knife for Christmas this year and I cannot wait :-)

  • I like sparkles.. Better drink my own piss

  • i like this i hope to get it for chirstmas so when i go hunting i have a good knife

  • They dont even tell tou what steal it is.....

  • My name is Commander Grylls and this is my favorite knife on the Citadel

  • You guys this knife is just for them to make easy money, this knife is shit.

  • @Spacesqurreil95 really? You have this knife so you make judgements? Buy it first then talk shit! Best knife, easily cuts through material and skin, recommend this to everyone!

  • I'll get it just for the sparks :)

  • All my info for surviving in the wild... "drink your own piss, eat potentially poisonous bugs, take UN-neccesary risks, im a fuck head.. im bear grylls"

  • i used to go into the woods.... THEN I TOOK AN ARROW IN THE KNEE

  • i am now prepared to survive in the wild.

  • Oh my God I LOVE this.
