He is rushing his legs up to the catch and he is missing water whilst there

At the finish his hands dip into his lap instead of up to his ribcage

The main issue I see is at the catch- where he goes to put his blade in the water. He jacks the blade up just before, so he starts driving with the blade out of the water, which is power used not moving the boat forward. It's called "missing water."

I cant give him a hard time. My sweeping is quite good but my sculling is SHIT. I thanked my lucky stars that U17 and upwards we get to trial in pairs, or I wouldn't be so happy.
