  • this music is addicting... I can't stop playing!lol

  • he sounds ... mmm what's the word ... HIGH !

  • his enthusiasm is ..... meh

  • Nice video but my son and I both learned guitar within 48 hours with 2DAYGUITARCOURSE(DOT)INFO

  • johny b. good :D

  • I found by sitting your thumb behind the third fret when playing this, it was easier to stretch my pinky to the 6th fret. See if that helps.

  • When trying your lesson, i'm unable to to get my pinky finger to the 6th fret without my other fingers sliding down 1 fret.I seem to have this problem all the time. Is there such a thing as having to short or stubby fingers that would prevent me from playing guitar?

    Love the lessons.

  • @burooo No there's nothing wrong with your hand. Just keep practising and you'll get it, I promise. All beginner guitarists think there's something wrong with their hands, but it's just lack of practice!!

  • @burooo yea, i felt the same at the beginning also. i thought my fingers were too short and skinny to do certain things. you'll be ok after a while though

  • hey, just a question. when we say ''in the key of e'' do we mean E minor or E major? thanx

  • @Savvas1211 Whenever major or minor isn't given, it's always considered major. So when people say play an E chord or say that something's in the key of E, what they mean is E major. It's just a shorter way of saying it.

Conversely, any minor chord will always be specified. Hope that helps.

  • @niedec ok thanx, it does help!

  • Hi David,

how can I learn to stretch your fingers as you do? (can't make it to the 6th fret)

  • @pelink21 just keep practicing, and you can go up 3 frets and practice and its not as much distance between frets. it is all just a matter of practice though.

  • This helped me SOOOOO MUCH!!! Thank you so so much!!

  • nice

  • I love this guy!!! xD

  • Hey man your slogan should be: "we skyrocket your playing to the next level"! ahah :D.. thanks for your help and rock on! \m/ Ricky

  • thx bro

  • holy mac this guy is soo helpful !

  • extremely helpful. thanks!

  • dude ur th fucking slowest teacher EVER get to the fucking point

  • 1:43 left hand... DEATH EATER!

  • I'm finding this to be a great finger stretching and timing exercise.

Was going to learn scales but I think i'll learn this first and then move on to classic scales.

    thanks

  • ok.. i lov all ur other videos, but this 1's pretty hard, i suck at it.. :(

  • Sounds crappy on my nylon stringed accoustic. Low E is overpowering, difficult to get it right. Is it the nylon strings or should I emphasize the E and A string respectively?

  • David, great lessons... Just started to play guitar and I am really loving it. I just picked up a breedlove guitar and I want to get the most out of it. Any pointers you recommend on Amps for playing live...

  • so what's a about the turnaround, more detail plz?

  • wich song is this melody tooken from? :-) love the sound off it!

  • @pissenisse130 this is a 12 bar blues they are in 90% of blues songs in differnt keys of course, you my friend like the blues,

  • thanks for helping us new guitar players out : )

  • i have problem with the turn around can you explain again?

  • 9 people didn't think 12 bar blues was easy and fun...

  • Hi, I need you a favor.

My fingers is short. I can play only 3-4 frets. [4th fret I will be awkward.]

Could you please comment about how to play guitar for upper level guitar?

  • i cant get the b chord right

  • @Tabicat96 Lol, you're not the only one, believe me!!

  • my hands wont stretch far enough along the guitar :(

  • Good people, If you want an additional idea on 12 bar blues, listen to Jimmy Hendrix's Red House, almost the same as this pattern, but he did I - IV - I - I instead of I - I - I - I on the first 4 bar in the key of Bb.

  • I love your lessons, but most of lessons on Youtube are about BLUES can u make some other exercices? for speed etc... i saw your speed and dexternity lessons, and i mastered it i need something more difficut now! i would like if you can make something like that! P.S. YOU ROCK!

  • i can't do it becouse my guitar sounds bad. help me!!

  • @TheKingDoffen

maybe because it's not tuned properly .( try to tune it with a microphone on the pc or get a tuner )

    I have a 50 $ and I can play lot's of songs on it

I'm going to get a seagull s6 this summer . I heard their great.

  • try guitarmanual.typepad.com for guitar ebook and video lessons

  • The guitar sounds rich and warm BUT what's with all the frett buzzing. I'm surprised to hear so much buzzing coming from a Taylor???

  • You sound more like a rocker,,,,

No soul for the blues playing,, it shows that you have no feeling of the blues,,

    rock on

  • how can u make little pause between each strum,,,can u teach me that plx

  • Hmm, I wonder how do you make the small pauses between each strum, cause' I don't know how to do it... Can someone teach me?

  • awesome, I feel like a rocker already!

  • David, im asking You, as a pro, what is better for blues? electro or acoustic guitar? and could you tell a diference? Im going to change to electro, would it be good? Incredible playing, btw.

  • Cool vid. My fingers won't stretch that far yet, so I've cheated a bit and stuck a capo on 4.

  • cool

  • its helpful...its just that i wish in your videos you guys could show the strumming at the same time cuz sometimes its really hard to understand what exactly you are doing. other than that, i like the videos a lot. very helpful.

  • Im a newbie player at 41. Thanks, I've got it now and will keep practicing it. Haven't stretched my hand like that to reach. Makes the wrist sore. no different than my fingers the first few months. Thanks Dave

  • As always, another great lesson from Next Level Guitar. Thanks David...

  • SORRY ME PINKY WONT REACH THE SIXTH FRET !!! SO ME BLUES CAREER

HAS JUST ENDED IN LESS THAN 15 SECONDS !!!

  • @johnoconnor59

That´s what i thought about me.. but somehow.. the pinky finger enlarges with practice. and im not talking about a 12 mo pratice

  • You guys are great. You know how to teach simple. I play/learn/practice probably a little bit more than some learners, and I am getting this pretty quick (I'm not great), if you could slow down a half beat or edit so it is a bit slower, I think more would get it quicker, but great teaching!

  • You play so awesome ! Awesome teaching too!

  • U ROCK !

  • excellent video - do a tutorial on how to play that bit you were playing at the end?

  • What do you do if you can't stretch to the B6 chord?

  • @rocketstar03 ; I was hoping David would offer up some other option to use... but I've kept at it and almost have it down! It's great stretching excersise if nothing else.

My thought is, barring any real physical barrier or handicap, just keep plugging away at it and it'll come.

  • @PeterBro10 Thanks! :)

    David T

  • This is really good. :)

  • Awesome sounding Taylor to boot - is it a GS7 - cedar / rosewood ? love it.

  • HI - the guitar I use in this lesson is a Taylor GS5 - with cedar top and tropical American Mahogany back and sides - killer warm rich sounding guitar

    rock oN!

    David T

  • dangit... XD this is fun to play but I keep hitting that low E string when I'm playing on the d string.

  • there is a technique that allows u to mute it with your fretting hand thumb but requires a lot of flexibility, so just keep practicing!

  • 5 ***** This is great Dave!!! ~ Chanel

  • Very clear and EZ to follow ... thanks ...

  • such a great sounding guitar!

  • what guitar is he using?

  • a Taylor. they make the best acoustics. expensive as hell though.

  • @CTSully88 --Collings acoustics are lightyears ahead of Taylors, but it is all just a matter of opinion anyways

  • Hi - the guitar I am using in this lesson is a Taylor GS5 - cedar top - killer warm sounding acoustic - love it

    rock on!

    David T

  • This actually was the only thing that it showed me when I got my first guitar like 6 years ago had a little crap dvd with this on it and I still mess around with it to this day!

  • Yeah, it does have an amazing sound, that's why I asked

  • Isn't that "Cromagone rock" ? the blues he's playing ?

  • It sounds familiar. But it's like the most common blues riff though

  • i dont get it how to play it like he does. if i play a chord it sounds the whole time through

  • Put your hand on the bridge and slightly muff out the strings-that's called palm muting.

  • noob lol just keep practicing

  • You put the back of your hand on the strings you're going to be playing and then you just strum and keep your hand on the strings. It'll be muted. It really takes practice

  • ok thank you!

  • i cant mute it

  • No your the good people. Rock on....

  • Thanks DT More Good Stuff. Makin it Fun to Practice. rock On!
