@john4short So by that logic a 4.0 liter V6 should be making 400HP? And a 5.7 liter should make 570 HP? I agree with you, an 8.0 engine making 400HP is a little week, but this also came out in the early 1990's. the most powerful engine any American car company had was the 5.7 liter LT1 in the Corvette, which mad 300HP.

These are the Viper models I like over the current ones today.

I wne to a local car show here in new Orleans and they had 2 different types of Vipers with the same color(Blue with 2 white stripes). One was a 2009 and the other was a 2001.

I stood next to the 2001 more than the 2009.

@blackandgold51 For sure. First gen was the best. the curves, more style. More of the old school muscle car feel. He's right about the hood. That was one of the main reasons for the re-design. The hood actually cost more than the motor and was made by an outside company in Canada. Insurance companies HATED it because even in a relatively minor front end collision, the entire hood had to be replaced.

People can live on very little and be happy, I used to think I could never live without a motorcycle, and then this year I couldnt afford one, and it turns out that parting with it wasnt as hard as I thought. If only these rich people knew that.

I dont know how I came up with 400k, but the idea of a cap would be to keep the benefits of a capitalist society without it becoming excessive, as you know, but how strict it should be just depends on different opinions. Your idea of wealth might be different from someone elses, theyd never even be able to decide.

The next car in the tradition of the cobra will have to be the hennessey venom gt. Lightweight sports car shell (based on a lotus) and huge American engine (1000hp is being talked about). Can't wait for that.

One thing I never understood about this viper (not the newer ones) was that is was supposed to be a focussed super car but the engine is in the front and it's fairly heavy for a "stripped out racer".
