  • Got to see Led's version!!!!!!!!!!

  • Better than Cochran!!!!!! But check the version of J. Hallyday, called ' elle est terrible '!!!!!!!

  • Great to see a stone respecting the great Eddie Cochran

  • @TheNigelc8 Not surprising since the Stones also played Twenty Flight Rock on their 81 tour.

  • all the trolls out there listen closely and keef informs you,you can take it or leave it

  • its a cool version , not the best (nr1 is led zeps version) but very groovy , how much guitarists are there ,robert cray ,plays a nice solo

    keith richards is cool showman

  • Much as I love to see Eddie remembered by as great a legend as this, Keef's version doesn't quite have the punch of Eddie's classic rock tune. Eddie was somethin' else.

  • that's just brilliant. love Keiths version. and as for keith being a junkie, yes he was once, so was hendrix, morrison, joplin, parsons, jones etc the list goes on. but when keith performed this he was off smack.

  • Sorry Eddie, absolute junkie shit, I appologise for ever viewing it RIP.

  • Sorry Eddie, absolute junkie shit, I appo;ogose for ever viewinf it, RIP.

  • clown eddie is eddie...

  • great job Keith. You done Eddie Mighty proud.Love ya man !!!

  • Always my hereo from the Stones

  • only 3 verses, wrong words, ooh dear

  • Have to love Keith! And he looks like he is having a ball!!!

  • seviians nous seville en nous

  • seviians nous

  • Keith said at the end it was fun and I have to agree that he is one cool dude but as Sarah says, he destroyed it.

Great respect for the guy though, immense in The Stones.

And the Pistols version is way out there with Eddie's.

    Rock 'n Roll

  • YEAH cool man , Keith Richardsis a cool pig!!!

and listen to the solo of robert cray , cool job !!

  • YEAH cool man , Keith Richardsis a cool pig!!!

  • OH, Boy, Keith Richards is great on this song! Why did he not do more solo singing with the Stones?! And he has a great voice! His mother said that he was a shy boy, but I think that he out grew it!

  • I'd give the left 'nad to play in a band like that.......

  • Cray's Strat is a tad bit brittle sounding. Bit my eardrums in half in fact. Gotta love Charlie's Fender Starcaster bass though. Was that Cropper there?

  • @chandramaofficial Yes, Cropper is There and Robert Cray too.

  • fantastic

  • That is a great tribute. First time I've given a thumbs up to a cover. Keith RIchard rocks, great talent.

  • Still my favourite vid on YouTube...Love ya Keef!

  • and I like it. like it yes I do

  • Older version of Sid.

  • @yb3000 The Pistols could have used him as a bassplayer. (During shows Sid was often made unaudible. Lucky for them Steve Jones was so tight he could play for both.) Would have been somethin´else!

Check out the Amsterdam interviews for the ultimate Keith coolness.

  • Eddie, Led Zep, Sid Vicious, Keith. Wow, everyone loves this song...myself included!

  • What a cool looking cat he is.

  • So glad I found this! Love Keith and love the song!!!!

  • That was heaven! Keith, Robert Cray, and Steve Cropper. That's something else!!!

  • Oh Keef you are and always will be a legend - you do justice to one of the greatest rock and roll records of all time - bless you Paul (Isle of Man)

  • Eddie was Somethin `Else !

  • STICK TO THE GUITAR , KEITH !

  • Keith is among the best of the best.

  • i love Keith richards!!!!!!!

    <3 just the best! xD

  • Trust the British to remember the American rockers. They seem to be forgotten here in the US

  • il est terrible

  • Great, grat fun! I love this rendition! Thaks, Keith.

  • keith and robert fucking cray ?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    what concert is this?

  • Keef pulled this off real well. Robert Cray's solo and comping ripped. However, every band needs a Steve Cropper in it. I imagine every cat that plays with Steve Cropper (no matter what instrument) feels at ease. Cropper is the guy with the big picture in mind...all the time.

  • @tomthefunky He's probably also a better soloist than either Richards or Cray, or just about anyone else, really. I saw him play with the MGs a few times in the 90s and he was amazing, though I'd still say that if he had just played rhythm all night.

  • @Gtar you got man.Zep knocks this out of the damn park. but? its "Keef" so its good.

  • Nice tribute ... Now who would like to fall out of a tree with me ? LOL .

  • luv this version..the drummer is somethin else..loud, tight ..just right

  • A band with Richards on Rythm and Clapton on Lead, with shared vocals = Ultimate Blues-rock.

  • @CentraCross

Don't know - Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards are just about as good as it gets, in a blues/r+b combo.

Ron Wood was a very famous blues/r+b guitarist long before he joined the Stones. In fact, he was possibly higher rated than even Keith when he joined up in 1975 from his work with The Faces, and The Jeff Beck Group

  • @MrCeej9999 Ronnie played bass in the JBG

  • Led Zeps version smokes this one. Nice try though Keef.

  • @Gtarzan81 Do you honestly think Zep ever even entered Keith's mind when he put this on set list? Nice try though....

  • Is that Robert Cray on the solo?

  • @MNorton1972 Yup. He and Steve Cropper are to the left of Keith. What a lineup!

  • @PeteTSSF Thanks! Geez that is a heckuva line-up. and even Keith looks relatively young! LOL...would've loved to been there.

  • Clapton hasn't got a scratch on Richards. Sorry old slow hand.

  • @qwerly45 You said it brother...

  • like this version!

  • cool son of a bitch.....

  • first tlme i seen this keith richards pulls it off great eddie wud b proud

  • whos the big guy with a pony tail

  • @314jtully Steve Cropper??

  • @314jtully Steve Cropper. You can thank him for such hits as "Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay", "In The Midnight Hour" and "Knock On Wood", all of which he wrote or co-wrote. Truly a phenomenal artist.

  • @MNorton1972 agreed, " play it Steve "

  • @MNorton1972 Agreed, " play it Steve "

  • Great!!!

  • Hey, the man can still rock . !! He can rock me anytime .

  • @765tony the sex pistols had... don't know about zeppelin

  • Awesome, great driving version. Keef looks like he's having a blast.

  • Eddie rocks and so does Keith

  • he looks well here

  • @cowenfiley botox?

  • This is even better with the Xpensive Winos on tour in Boston. Probably not available for posting here.

  • @deadpan227 The only Wino missing here is Waddy Wachtel.

  • @765tony Hello 765tony,

Yes, you can see them performing this live on the official live DVD release that came out in May of 2003. The 1970 performance at Royal Albert {part one} has the brilliant cover of "Something Else". Also on the official CD release of the BBC sessions there is also a version of "Something Else" on that. In all reality Eddie Cochran's version is the best but as far as someone covering it, the Blimp rises way above the rest. Hope this helped,

    Paneeks/Boston

  • Everybody knows that! Christ is the best! Hope you know that bit is ungodly to call other christians imebeciles! I have a mental health problem that does not make me stupid. GOD IS LOVE! don't insult me anymore feeling suicidal anyway!

Gods blessings on you. Love Martinaloony

  • It is 'not for Eddie Cochran . It is for Richards £Ego. Chuck Berry Fucked him LARGE on their 'Oh Carol' duet....kisses to all X

  • Still my favourite post on Youtube! Love it Keef! :)

  • Rock`n Keith!!!

  • it's always fun listening to keith. long live keith

  • he pulled that one out of his hat all right! nice.

  • yeah, keith would have been at an age to have been really into cochrane when he heard the news about the car wreck in chippenham.

  • I second that Zeppelin's version was truly the best that has ever come out so far. It kicks and kicks...

  • This is a great tribute from one rocker to another.

  • good rendition here by Richards, but I prefer Led Zeppelin's version. Look it up.

  • Keif was the first punk! No point arguing

  • @martinaloony you're an imbecile, everyone knows that the first punk came 2000 years ago....jesus Christ.

  • prefer sid's version

  • Stray Cats also did a great cover of this

  • Se sale, keith es el puto amo.

    5*****

  • Keith is irrepressable and such a great guitarist, and he is just a greatcharecter in rock.Love you Keith.

  • mmmm, sid didnt play an instrument. he admitted he couldnt play.

  • @alfredodg6985 : This is the best cover of Eddie Cochran since The Who did Summertime Blues on Live at Leeds. Where is Sid now?

  • Comment removed

  • Is that why you favorited it .. you idiot.

  • I prefer the original. Eddie 4ever!

  • It's only rock 'n' roll like Eddie. The spirit and the power are here.

  • Keith opened with this when I saw him with his the Xpensive Winos way back when...amazing version...

  • I saw the same tour ! He opened with this tune and blew us away at the first tune. It was the Expensive Winos Tour, and i think 1989. Saw this in pittsburgh.

  • BRILLIANT version!

  • Ive Seen Keith Play & He Loves This As He Knows His Past Well R'n'R Is His Life

  • Großartige Verbeugung vor dem großen Eddie Cochran!

  • Not bad vocals from Keith. I guess you dont get many chances when you're in the Stones?

  • Not bad, just needs Bonham.

  • Totally cool! Keith is right in his element here.

  • Never ever seen or heard this before.

    Quite an amazing performance.

    Approx date??

    Thanx for posting.

  • dw69ful: Believe this was Sevilla Spain show of Guitar gods, part of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics celebrations! That's Robert Cray doing the solo, and tyhe great Steve Cropper on Rhythm!

  • Nicely done!

  • @jt123egypte Oh shut up and quit taking yourself so seriously. Jesus Christ, this is a good rendition of it .. he's paying a tribute to Eddie Cochran, can't you understand that??

  • I have forgotten more about Eddie Cochran than you know, you clown. So have Robert Cray and Steve Cropper. I don't stoop to drinking Heineken either. Congratulations on your fine attention-seeking.

  • You are brain dead dude!

  • hmmmmmmmmmm.......a great guitar player..perfomer.........been quite successfull for 45 years........I don't think you can call Keith a rookie.......Something else was one off the first records I bought....Eddie was great....BUT...I think Keith was just havin' fun playing the music he grew up with......from a fan of Eddie & Keith

  • You have absolutely no respect for the other musicians.. shame on you.

  • Keith will always be Keith and this is a super tribute to mr. Cochran...thanks!

  • Great beat-fitting tribute to Eddie Cochran.Eddie was so cool. This version rocks.

  • He's Good..Or what/

  • guys this proves to all the haters that keith richards isnt a fucking junkie loser.. the man has talent.

  • Well said!

  • Too fast tempo.this is ok.But Eddie Cochran was something else.

  • Rock and fucking roll man! Damn keef's lovely micawber! That's how its supposed to be done. Cheers!

  • Damn straight dude!

  • Eddie Cochran's music lives on, and rightfully so

  • Good Version!

  • Look a'there! 0:48! :)

    POMY COLLINGWOOD

  • Cool way he sings the punch line, like wow man,

  • both versions are better =) cheers

  • GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!

  • Good, but it doesn't compare to the ultimate version; Zeppelin's 1970 Royal Albert Hall performance.

  • dude totally. you cant beat a zeppelin cover any day.

  • haha dude nobody will ever beat that zeppelin cover not even Keef

  • Keith knows the Lyrics.. Plant didn't. Both Rock ...

  • Actually, Keith fairly " butchers" the lyrics here, but you are right on dude...this version totally rocks. The only artists to ever cover Somethin' Else with correct lyrics are Tanya Tucker and Little Richard! They are in a studio reading from lyric sheets! (it's on Youtube). Nice comment dude!

  • You guys might like Led Zepp..but I totally disagree with your comments about Keith's version. This is the finest Cochran cover since the Who recorded Live at Leeds!!!

  • Spot on ! Dont get me wrong I like the zep fine , but they could over do it at times, for me just keep it simple & let it rock ! as only keth can, either with the stones or x-pensive winos, 3 cords, a driving bass & drums & the games up, you dont need any more.

  • Thanks dude! I see you are from "Eddie Country"!

  • this is very ballsy and keith dosent need to swagger..

  • keith richards el rock and roll hecho persona

  • Eddie cochran version is much better,..but i love Keith and Sid.

  • Finally...An intelligent comment about Eddie Keith and Sid! Well said!

  • Lemmy tried to teach Sid the bass, right around the time that the punks were hanging out with Lemmy, while he was drinking and snorting speed... You can't teach to those already gone, and Sid knew it, but didn't fuckin' care! He only cared about Nancy... R.I.P. Jesus, what an icon. No shit.... And we all know what heroin do... So whose next, you fuckin' idiots... Another dead, junkie Hero? What a joke.

  • Long Live Sid Vicious!

  • all that people got their asses kicked hard by keith xD

  • Thanks God without Jagger!

  • Really? Where is Sid now?

  • if you see it like this

    where is elvis now?

    where is jimmy hendrix now?

    where is jim morrison now?

    where is kurt cobain now?

where are all those musicians now who died by drugs?

do you think this means something about their talent?

  • Precisely: They all had talent. Sid didn't.

  • really now, how much do you know about sid? do you that he learn alone to play bass in a single night? if this is not talent then it is intelligence. he simply hadnt the resources & the support he needed. he also had bad luck with a tension of selfdistruction. & so? who's perfect?

  • How much do you know about Eddie Cochran?

  • i wont lie, not much. im quite young. however i prefer sex pistols' version of his songs.more energetic.

    noone can blame me!

  • How much do you know about Eddie Cochran?

  • Lots.

  • You need to go back to school kid.

  • Most Uplifting!

  • Keith is simply, by far the coolest mofo in the history of rock and roll music.

  • FINE !!!!

  • How is it that Keith is still living, what with all that debauchery for all those years?

  • Too true! He is the 8th Wonder of the World!

  • who's the drummer? Is he...? No, could it be? Is the drummer Buddy Miles? Y'know, from The Band Of Gypsys?

  • I am not pretty sure

  • Looks like Steve Jordan, from Keith's X-Pensive Winos.

  • no sabía que cantara keith richards

  • Pretty cool!!!

  • Not very good is he? I wouldn't give up the day job if I were him

  • Comment removed

  • I kinda like led zeppelins version better

  • Why bother to compare Keith's version against Zeppelin's version against Sid's version. Just enjoy this for what it is - a group of world class musicians ripping it up on the stage, enjoying each other's company and paying homage to a true legend.

  • Too true dude; there is too much needless comparison of everybody's favourite versions of tunes. Having said that, this is my favourite version!
