  • USS Truxtun which appears at about 8:50 of this video, was commissioned as DLGN-35. Its designation was changed to CGN-35 in the late '70's. At the time this film was made, it was still DLGN-35. I was aboard.

  • USS PUTNAM DD757 66-69 FT3 . Brought back many memories - good and bad lol

Spent all our time in the Med.

    Thx

  • Great footage, and matching it to Richard Rodgers' legendary score for "Victory at Sea" was an inspired touch.

  • I was an RM2 with Blue's sister ship USS Collett (DD-730) mid 1966 until late Dec 1969. During West Pac deployment 1969 we sailed with Blue, conducting Plane guard ops with USS Coral Sea, on SAR in Gulf of Tonkin or in port together in Subic, Kaoshung and Sasebo. Thanks for wonderful video of what we did back then!

  • Was on DD826 U.S.S.Agerholm.Westpac 70and71.Great movies and memories.

  • Thanks for the beautiful video, randy946. The Hoel ( DDG-13 ) was my home from 71 to 74. Made two WesPacs on her. Salute, Blue.

  • A noble, beautiful ship.
