  • Great to see umass kick some ass. I am from CFHS where they stayed and they are truly a nice band. Very very cool to get to see up close.

  • That is the best marching band ever. (Not to mention one of the loudest I've heard!) He must have been one mindblowing band director judging by this performance.

  • I met George Parks while I played the alto saxophone in the Cathedral High School band, under the direction of his wife, Jeanne Parks. Thank you for posting this video. I want to thank the UMASS Minuteman Marching Band for everything that they have done in honor of their talented and knowlegable director.

  • I'm very grateful for these great UMMB video uploads, thx!! I watched the UM/UMass game on the Big Ten Network but, of course, that showed very little of UMMB, so this footage is especially great to see. Like the other comments, Prof. Parks will be greatly missed but I hope his inspiration, vision and energy will live on with his band.

  • Awesome performance, UMMB, and a great video. I am grateful to have been in the UMMB from '93-'94, working as part of the A / V crew. Seeing this video reminds me of taping many performances at UMass, as well as at Delaware, UNH, BU, in PA, at BOA in Indy, etc. Being part of the UMMB was the best part of UMass, and Mr. Parks was a big reason why. He is a true inspiration to all. He is certainly missed.

  • Thanks so much for posting this video. George Parks knew how to inspire and motivate. When the band performed he always had an expression of deep joy, like a proud father. Godspeed. - UMMB Trombone section, 1981. UMASS Class of 1986.

  • Well done, Baby Band. I couldn't even manage watching this without crying--I can't imagine how hard it must have been to march that show. Mr. Parks would be incredibly proud that you partied through tears and turned out that amazing of a performance. Thank you for making it crazy for him.

  • You Were, You Are, UMass......

  • Nice high G at the end. Da Hogs!

  • I was taught by George Parks in the summer of 2009 and he basically changed my entire outlook on life. He was a great teacher and friend. Being a member of the Penn State Blue Band, I know that Big Ten crowds are usually rough against visiting teams, fans, and bands. I was so glad to see the Michigan fans clapping during the song and then standing up and cheering at the end. Mr. Parks would have been proud!

  • Thank you Michigan for your wonderful support and appreciation for our band. Your kindness was most welcome. Thank you also for TheRivideoguy for posting this so promptly - great job. RIP Mr. Parks.

  • Thank you SO much for posting this!!!! What an unbelievable job by the UMMB. I certainly got chills watching this--their poise, character, sound, togetherness... I am so proud to be part of the UMMB alumni. Eyes with Pride.

  • Thank you for posting this video. I am a UMMB band parent not able to attend the game. I'm happy to know our bandos were so well received. They sure did Mr Parks proud! EYES WITH WITH PRIDE!

  • We are proud of you UMMB! Eyes with pride!

Thanks to the University of Michigan, their band and their fans. Your understanding and support is GREATLY appreciated.
