All it does is select against what prevents the species to continue reproducing offspring. Imperfections and mutations occur throughout reproduction naturally and most of the time they are neither positive nor negative.When something negative does occur, well often unless it is immediately deadly mankind tries to fix it. It doesn't allow natural selection as it used to.
