I have read a few analyses of SKs films over the last couple of days. Jungians will find jungian symbols, conspiracy theorists will see illuminati symbols, nazis see jewish symbols, and anybody can read into them their own interpretations, mostly based on freezing frames and studying them. OK we can do that nowadays but films are meant tro be watched from start to finish in cinemas etc. Many of these so called subliminal texts are just random and arbitrary coincidences, and some just rubbish

@cantabilewoman Generally, I'm very sceptical about reading too much into movies, but I think most of the scenery was very deliberate. I don't give a crap about the Illuminati and most conspiracy nonsense, but there are two things you should look into - the documentary Kubrick's Boxes and also read up on how The Shining was selected. Both of these insights explain why it's very possible that The Shining was a vehicle for Stanley Kubrick to really go hog wild on subtleties.

The only time Kubrick contacted the government after 2001 - was to borrow a lens from NASA to shoot Barry Lyndon. May I explain to all of you that this movie was based on Stephen Kings real experience at the Stanley Hotel? He then wrote the shining after he and his wife Tabitha both experienced paranormal activity while staying there.I think all you whack jobs that see conspiracies in everything should just realize that not everything has a double meaning.
