i completely love this kite i got it today we had 19 mph winds gusting to 26 but i have a 5m and only weigh 150 it actually lifted me off the ground and carried me 15 feet and i wasnt trying
Great learning kite, is pretty predictable, and keeps you out of trouble for the most part as long as you stay within it's wind range. I've always thought it feels "slow", but I guess that's good when your starting out. Have fun!!
I'd say it depends on your weight and wind conditions. I got the 4m and weigh 185lbs. and live on a shore town with good clean 10-25 winds. If you weigh much more the 5m might be better or weigh less the 3m. The bigger the kite, the slower the response so the 3m would respond closer to the rush and the 4-5m's might seem slow and unresponsive in comparison .
Have fun and be careful. These things can bite : ) I just picked up an older Peter Lynn ARC ,my first depower, I've yet to fly....when I find the time.
I'm fairly new to kiting and feel the Scout does respond a bit slow, which may be a good thing at this point. More fly time and I'll move up to something faster with a higher AR.
How is it working upwind?

I weigh about the same. does the 4m have sufficient power? Can you do small jumps with it?
nubb1337 2 years ago
In 20-25mph winds it's sometimes scary. I've done small swing or pendulum jumps with it on the beach.

ok I've been talking with some people and I'm PROBABLY going to get a LEI kite of some sort.
