OH WOW! This is freakin AWESOME! I use to be one of the biggest Dr. Who fans around! I watched and taped every episode from William Hartnell to Sylvester McCoy. Then they quit showing em on our PBS channel :-(
They finally started back up a few years ago on our SyFy channel. Needless to say I was a happy camper :-) My favorite Dr. was Tom Baker because that's when I was first introduced to Dr. Who, but Peter Davison probably would had been my favorite otherwise. Now my favorite is David Tennant
@chrishooper68 They say that your Fave Dr is the one you are watching at the time! But Pat has always blown me away. If you look back at his stuff, he truly is an Actor's Actor & was the FIRST "Doctor". Bill was Dr Who. without him, We'd never have the rest.
I don't actually recognise the new series as DW. It's not creative with it's Music, Scripts, Sets, or Special FX. Which to me was what made the show charming. But, Each to their own!
@johnofett Actually, I don't do any Programing What so ever! I use Synthesizers! I have found that Digtial has a habit of sounding like all the sounds are fighting to become the loudest channel! Also, in Analog - When you are recording, it sequences not only the notes, but the Volume, Velocity, Attack, Release, Aftertouch & Sustain (Pedal) of each & every one of those notes. To do that Digitally would take me far too long! So, Every sound you here is Finger to Key constructed. A Labour of Love!
@therealKINDLE aahhh!!!!...got u now m8...its actually wot i do some of the time with some of my tunes, playing live by part and even some layering over parts too and adding fx as im playing along to suit the sound..im sure u know wot im on about.... good work m8,big thumbs up to ya!!
@johnofett You're tooi kind John! I'm just an amature with a small amount of equipment.. What I'd LOVE to do If I had access to Moog, EMS Synthi, CS-80 & MODULAR.. Oh the thought Beguiles me! I'm So intimidated by the Dr WHO theme! I really must put number 5 & 6 up here soon. Wish I had more time. Thanks for your compliments though. Awfully Decent of you :)
Hey Kindle Man, sorry about taking so long to write back. Another great version of the theme, nice and easy listening. Things here in Aus are hot but okay. Hope all is well for you there. Hugs
I'll be honest. Up until about 2:00 it sounded like the track was missing something. I can actually think of the right sound it needs in my head, but unfortunately, I have no idea what the sound is called. It's a sort of trance-like bass sound with a flangus effect, I think. But I'll hand it too you. When the lead and the beat kicked in things sorted themselves out. Good quality sounds used, although I think Version 3 had a better quality. I would type more, but I don't have enough letters left.
It's the 'Hot & Cold' Technique used by many musicians where by you deliberatly keep sounds out so that it it sounds lacking. Then when it does eventually take off.. It relieves the listeners frustration & pleases them! I'm glad the sounds appeal to you, I go out of my way to create, modify & sculpt them within an original Dynamic truthful of the classic series soundscapes.
Thanks for your comment. I will be uploading number 5 after xmas when I have time to breath!!
I don't. I'm Strickly Analog. Every note you hear is hand-to-key. There are no short cuts, no templates, no loops or beats etc. Everything I play has been Pioneered & Sculpted; keeping it honest to the Originals.
what did you use for the visuals

Sounds great! I like it when someone actually takes the time to experiment with the theme tune, nice variation ;-)
