lol so i walk into canada computers the other day with my friends and standing there a member of the ETF he kept looking at us....i hope he didnt think we were stealing :(
@saraNarra im only 15 and this is my future job and when me and my team is on the news for saving people for diffusing yet another dangerous situation in the city of toronto, they wont think stupid pig theyll think wow that guys a hero....i really hate those jackass cops who give police a badname
It's a job that I would never want to do...the danger, the lack of respect from some of the public, the time commitment, and the "regular" everyday life you miss. Facing off and taking down someone with a weapon...the abuse and insults hurled at members daily, just cause you're a cop....seeing first hand the sadness and ugliness our society has kept hidden from public view...the things members deal with everyday...I couldn't handle..so a big thanks to COPS everywhere
theyre requirements are: u must run 3 miles in 11 vonsecutive minutes , do 100 situps in under 2 minutes , 50 pushups in under 30 seconds and u MUST BE IN PEEK PHYSICAL CONDITION
In order to apply for ETF you need to be a 1st class constable which takes 5 years i believe, although you can be promoted early. I'm seriously thinking of a career in law enforcement in Toronto
@christower50 it takes 6 years your close though, and it's a great career to get into i myself want to become a police officer in Toronto and currently in Police Foundations and i do recommend you look in to it
@christower50 Realistically it'll take 7-8 years to get onto the ETF. The competition is extremely fierce and there are a lot of excellent police officers who don't get selected.
@christower50 Absolutely. Gotta crawl before you can run an Ironman :) As long as you know the long road ahead of you. But make that long road work for you. Don't see it as 7-8 years before you get a shot. Think of it as 7-8 years to take crisis negotiation courses, learn about firearms and tactics, rope rescue, and so on. Not to mention 7-8 years to establish yourself as a great cop with a great reputation.
@Danno0618 Heavy fucking testing too. ETF is one of the most sought after jobs in the Toronto police, you should join the Army reserves while you are going to school to make your resume stand out when applying to ETF.
@kyleuser1999 if you really are part of the etf is it true you get flashbacks and nightmares....does the job wear you out that fast?

asecondtoolate101 6 months ago
@asecondtoolate101 makes sense, Flashpoint, was inspired by the Toronto ETF

@elementboy17 I have never heard more mockery for Flashpoint than from the ETF officers themselves. The show is a joke.
