  • this is inspiring. I wanted to improvise music yesterday and part of this song came to my mind and mine ended up similar to this at some part. I hope you don't mind Sebastien. I plan to dedicate it to my friends too. Nothing for production. Not to mention that I'm not any close to your skill ;)

  • YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!

  • What kind of guitar is the black electric there?

  • @mycahman both are Ibanez models i believe

  • dang, it. I wish i could've written this.

  • I wish having a friend would make me feel the way this song does :)

  • My eyes filled with tears because of the music ...

How good would go back and fix my mistakes, or just avoid the suffering!

  • Tuning?

  • 22 people have no friends

  • very nice indeed! Roger

  • Excellent, men. Very nice

  • It is good that he is well versed in different guitar playing styles

  • I'm really bad at recognizing whether someone is talented or not but this guy is way too obvious. :)

  • reminds of for my father by andy mckee

  • Just out of curiosity, did Candyrat ever sign an artist that wasn't freaking amazing?

  • @sejb12992 of course not

  • Well done! You have quite the talent. May God bless you and take you farther than your wildest dreams have taken you.

  • i like the places this song takes me.

  • there sometimes comes a song that redefines the way you think about music, this really is one of them.

  • sorry.. but this kinda sounds like Rylynn, to me.. props Andy Mckee

  • @rkg4mer lol wheres your ears? sounds nothing like Rylynn

  • Comment removed

  • @3245james Care to point out the section?

  • Comment removed

  • @3245james Why would you state that you can "see where he drew the comparison" but then fail to point out the section that caught your ears? Not to mention that having the same notes doesn't necessarily make a piece sound like another; two pieces in C Major (without key changes and chromaticism) that use all 7 notes can sound very different.

  • @rkg4mer after having another listen I realized that you're absolutely right. At the time that I posted I had several tabs open. Heh, I think I might have posted the comment on the wrong page.

    p.s. this song is beautiful

  • @rkg4mer hahahahahaha you have really wierd ears you should clean them ...im joking around...i dont hear rylynn at all

  • wow.. i'm hooked !

  • anyone know what tuning this is in?

  • @Oddjob26 I m pretty sure its Open C major

  • Absolutley superb guitarist , fabulous technique and a great touch . As with any trade, the skill and technique are the tools of the trade and so are needed to do the job correctly. Great guitarist and a good composition .

I fail to get this played with feeling thing. All guitarist play with feeling , its poor technique that lets us down .

    Peter

  • @pvail06 wrong my friend there are many of musians who go on playing without feeling, alot of the time because theyve lost the fire in them to play and love music and enjoy it. believe what you want but not every guitarist/musician feels his/her music and thats a fact

  • @metalmayhemvids Then they shouldn't call themselves musicians. And that's a fact.

  • does anyone know where i can get the tabs for this song?

  • @zircon117 When u find it lemme know too... ive been looking for like 6 months already.

  • I didn't know he could play like that also! O.o

I am truely impressed with every musician that comes through Candyrat.

  • esti que cé vraiment cool ce genre là ...ca pogne din trippe en ta!!!

  • what model is that Stonebridge?

  • @Han414

I'm pretty sure it's the G23CR. I've got one (mine is a Furch though), and this one looks just like it. :) Looovely guitar.

  • this talk about feeling is nonsense.

The amateur, or improvised jam has no more emotional activity in the brain than a virtuoso or even a simply well practiced musician. If you can play the song in a way that sounds good. You are making good music. Simple enough to me.

  • awesome...the scale down from 0:17 to 0:19 is spot on

  • is there anything this guy CAN"T do?!?!? everything from metal to clisical guitar?!?! thats just awsome!!!

  • I listen to this tune at least a couple of times a month. I really think it's great.

  • you really have real friends... what an awesome song! beautiful, wonderful... just real music and passion... keep on going sebastien

  • @nunoisgod that is exactly why Dragonforce sucks ass in my opinion

  • @itsachickenwiththing They dont suck, they play a different style.

  • @itsachickenwiththing Each style has a goal. and they have a different goal

  • @checkavailability212 to each his own... though my taste in music has only gotten stingier since I discovered that Radiohead did other songs besides "Creep"

  • this is perfect... braziliam

  • The harmonics sound godly...

  • Excellent :o)

    Congratulations,

    Luis Silva

  • Respect man

  • ma te dire que tu tire pis puis il ya une tres belle melodie qui vein avec sa trop malade rien de plus que le mots malade

  • this is amazing, love the sound

  • great

  • i hear alot of antoine dufour licks.

  • they jam alot with each other, when you play with someone alot you take each others greatness and combine em

  • and the funny thing is that this song was written before Antoine started to write original stuff, so maybe Antoine just got the licks from him xD

  • beautiful

  • one of my favourite guitarists

  • His form and style suggests that he does alot of electric improv. This piece is brilliantly awesome!

  • 2:59 (Y)

  • Absolutely amazing... I love listening to this..

  • This made me remember very nice things of my life. THANKS !!

  • Sounds great. *****

  • wow, you're AMAZINGG!!!!

  • I hear a lot of Andy Mckee around 2:30......sooooooo good!

  • 5/5 amazing

  • this was very cool. 5 stars.

  • i wish i was his friend so i could say

    "he made this for me!"

    Fantastic!

  • his musical inclination is making me consider picking up and acoustic guitar and learning a new style...

  • That is the exact guitar I wish I could afford.

  • I like this guy's playing but it's a little fast for me to really follow for this kind of acoustic guitar music.

  • to all the people who are saying he has bad technique, that's actually a really good technique on electric guitar because they usually have the pickups so close. as a result, you minimize your motion and attempt not to hit hte pickups with your fingertips.

  • Well this song is amazing...no offense to the artist but it's 100 times better than his electric stuff IMO. Of course it's still a matter of taste, but I don't mind Vai or Satriani at all so I don't know why his electric stuff just doesn't do it for me. Stick to the acoustic dood.

  • gtfo

  • What an insightful argument.

  • i don't see any songs you made on electric gutiar that makes you able to say that this guys work is bad on electric.

  • So I don't have a right to my opinion? Technically the guy is a genius, and I don't think his electric music is bad, it just isn't as good (creatively) IMO as Vai, Satch, etc.. But this acoustic song, creatively, is amazing and I think he should focus on that instead, because he has a real talent for it.

  • thats what you should of said in the first place lol, sorry for saying that shit.

  • I kinda agree, too much effects for me. As far as electric goes favorite song on candyrat has gotta be city lights by steffen schackinger.

  • i see what you mean,

but his electric stuff is unique, and it's cool.

  • Does look like some sort of injury on his head, his hairs still kool as fuck tho.

  • what happened to the back of his head? looks like he had stitches done?

  • It's called going bald, dumbass.

  • would guess he used to or still does play a lot of metal style guitar

  • great :)

  • Does ANYBODY know the tuning for this song?!

    I'm 100% sure it's not FDAGEB!

  • I might have found it!

    FACGAE

If that's not it, then it's just one string away or so

  • I like his style very much. Cause I think he is combining his perfect technique and his wonderful feeling in a superb way.

Beside that the track is very melodious, plus got its parts where there is a lot of "drive".

    Thumbs up and 5 stars!

  • ☰ Great video! I love it! ☰

  • candyrat seems to find the best guitarist

  • It seems that allot of these Candyrat guys play the same kind of guitar, does anyone know what kind it is?

  • Ummm, I believe the guitar Sebastien is playing was from Antoine Dufour's, which is the Stonebridge CR-23, if I'm not mistaken.

  • how come youtube wont let me reply to somebody....

  • FDAGEB????? its impossible it would probably sound way too weird with all those slack strings

  • try thicker gauge strings???

  • I agree, I tried that FDAGEB tuning and it doesn't sound close....unless the F is the high E string, that might work....

  • amazing!

  • where's the rhythm?

  • under your pillow?????

  • wtf do you mean, where's the rhythm?

  • fuckin overwhelming.........

    ...makes me melt down

  • fantastic! very original tone and sound, beautiful piece, period!

  • special tuning FADGBE?

  • FDAGEB!!

  • Great stuff. Reminds me of Antoine Dufour's old style.

  • Nice Song!!

  • So who is the almighty being that decides the right and wrong ways to do everything?

  • this is amazing this guy i put up there with Antoine Dufour

  • Beautiful music, great player!

  • My view is that guitar playing isn't about playing with perfect technique, it's about playing with feeling. I would choose to listen to a guitarist with feeling and poor or 'wrong' technique any day than a clinical, technically perfect player with a complete lack of feeling. That isn't to say technically astute and skilled players play without feeling and shouldn't be listened to, I am merely saying that technique isn't the be all and end all.

    Enjoy the music guys =]

  • @nunoisgod its not just about the feeling of course, but demonstrating that feeling toward the compositions he or she writes and shows it through expressions while playing the song, a trait all of candyrat's musicians share. I will agree 100% with your statement though. Highly technically based guitarists are not as good as the guy that plays simple chords and enjoys and feels the music. You have to love what you write. :)

  • @PyroinHell Everything you said I completely agree with. I have a lot of music on my ipod of really simple songs. I often show songs like Fast Car by Tracy Chapman to my guitar playing friends and they all say 'she sucks'. I'll ask why, they'll say because it's so simple. I say 'It's simple, but you can feel the emotion in both the guitar and in the words that she's singing.' Some of them listen again and shut up, others just don't admit that they like it after I tell them that.

  • @nunoisgod well i must disagree to SOME extent...technique (at least the way i understand it) is the bases of playing; if you can't play then what does the feeling matter? if i try to play a c could with feeling but play 20 different notes on accident what does my feeling matter? Now am i saying that people who are technically accurate with no feeling are better than people with feeling and maybe not the best technique? no i'm not because they represent the opposte extreme; primp and proper and

  • @markusthefarkus and boring. So to me to have good technique means you are ready to add your feeling to the technique; meaning to find a temperence between feeling and technique. You need technique to play the guitar (there are various technique; the kind andy mckee uses or the kind classical guitarists use) but it profits nothing if there is no feeling and vice versa you have all the feeling but can't express it; GUitar is about finding a balance between the two; much like life you can't over

  • @markusthefarkus indulge in just one thing you need to spread it out (ie. candy, protein, veggies, ect...). In guitar this equals technique so you can play with your feelings and feeling so you can express what you want to express through your technique....i do not wish to be a jerk but that is how i look at it :) btw this song is awesome!!!!

  • @nunoisgod EXACTLY CORRECT! :D

  • we got a lot of people over-reacting here...

he plays well. IF HE WERE PLAYING CLASSICAL, his form would be wrong. i see too many people getting waaay overzealous about there "not being one correct way to play". of course there isn't. a classical guitarist will play differently from a fingerstyle one. GuyMcpersonLol obviously knows that... and he also admits he loves cloutier's music. so... why flame him? it's WAY too easy to over-react in youtube videos.

  • Technique is for people who want to use the guitar. People who actually play the guitar have their own specialized technique. So whoever says he doesn't have technique, or it's not correct is completely retarded. However you play is your technique.

  • Regarding his technique, he is normally an electric player so naturally his acoustic playing will reflect that. I imagine there is a similar occurrence when Antoine Dufour picks up that Ibanez in the background of some of his videos.

  • man, the guy just have talent, it's dont matter how he play, if he wants to play up side down and make this beautifull song he just can, dont matter how he play, just the song that he do ^^

  • look at the noobs talking about correct form. when you got talent like this guy, is it really necessary? :P

  • good work candyrat

please give Sebastien a pat on the back for me!

  • everyone has there own way of playing nob hed

  • Beautiful piece! Great Work.

  • Tuning for this, anyone?

  • so glad i discovered this type of music.

so many great musicians, lots of inspiration to take in.

i think sebastien is extremely talented, and who cares about form?

for piano my 'form' is completely different from most people, and it makes no difference whatsoever.

  • damn dud e :] thank you :] ive been trying to tell people that :} im a piano player my self and my form of course is different from most :] its about what you love :] so props for that comment

  • precision is almost there...but your tone and feel are FANTASTIC.

  • can i have the 2nd or 3rd guitar from the wall ? :D

    pretty please? XD

  • form screwed up

dude we all play differently, nobody has the same exact form

maybe your form is wrong, you should take a lesson from this guy lol

  • his form is SO screwed up

but the song is still nice :)

  • Can you explain exactly what? I don't mean to bash, but I'd like to know.

  • actually, my teacher plays the same way, he says its because he learnt to play, by playing jazz, so taht might be sebastiens reasoning too

  • you dont no one little bit bout what form is . if our talking about the way his hand is postioned then your retarted . take a look at classical guitarist most of them have thier handslike that. so you comment was un doubtfully uneducated :]

  • haha ok dude. you really need to comprehend wat your trying to get out of yourhead.his form is fine. now ifit was a specific technique he was using then thats prolly the only time you can critique his " form " . did any body critique how andy was playing wen he played drifting ? haha i think not lol. sebastien is prolly just expermnting wth his hands to see if he can create his own style just like how andy played drfting and preston reed played ladies night:] its experimenting and developing :]

  • yo he can play the guitar how ever the fuck he wants to. what it comes down to is that he writes beautiful music, he is an amazing guitarist and i bet he kicks your ass at guitar.

  • i already said its a good song O-o

and how do u know how i play guitar??

u dont so stop overestimating ur low intelligence and calm down

jeez. if u want to have a productive debate about this topic, respond.

if u want to just bash on ppl, shut up

  • Sk8mastert's comment is THE point that should've been told to you. Who the **** you think you are to say what is correct or not? This guy is an amazing guitarist. Shame on you to tell his playing stances are not correct. Sebastien Cloutier OBVIOUSLY kicks your ass at guitar. and then what was productive debate in your arguments? Ur trying to be the smart ass to say what is correct and what is not. ninjaboxer meant that the stances for right hand are SIMILAR to classical guitar style. he's right.

  • i already said its a good song O-o

and how do u know how i play guitar??

u dont so stop overestimating ur low intelligence and calm down

jeez. if u want to have a productive debate about this topic, respond.

if u want to just bash on ppl, shut up

(ur not important enough to have a comment so i just copied and pasted the old 1)

  • I don't care if you think im important or not, the thing is you're playing smart ass guy, the one who knows better than anyone. to say that sebastien cloutier does not play correctly was the most stupid thing you could say here. what did you wanted to prove? stop overestimating your low knowledge. So theres no productive debate in here. You're just trying to be a smart ass.

  • once again, not here to insult, here to talk productively about guitar technique

  • basically all of you can be quiet.

    imo.

There is no wrong way or right way to play.

The point of it is, The way SEBASTIEN Plays

    it works for him,

Something else might work for you.

    End of .

  • see?

    someone actually listens to me

how he plays seems to work for him so i have nothing against sebastien himself :P

he makes good music with his skills

  • why do you care about his form?

  • Is this Antoine Dufour's guitar ??? it looks the same... anyway, great tone and sensibility !

  • It's his old one.

  • Not everyone plays and learns guitar in the same way as these smarmy and quite frankly snobbish people who are complaining about folk asking for tabs.

I only play my own compositions, and can play over/jam with any song, but will never try to learn note for note what the original guitarist is playing...thats just boring to me.

But when I wanted to learn one particular Antoine Dufour song I just downloaded the tab, and hey presto I learned the full thing!

Music snobs really piss me off.

  • beautyfull mixture of rithyms has the yhat water sound often found in trad music good Magic!

  • wow i didnt know he coulld play like this.

  • Glad you've said that Hueseph! I've been thinking that for a year! These people ask for tabs all the time! I agree...If your good enough to play these Candyrat tunes what the heck would you need tabs for? I used to learn stuff from Led Zep to Michael Hedges just from listening to the tunes 20 times or more! Backing them up over and over etc. This video stuff is a dream come true....if you wanna play cover tunes..simply get the tuning and watch what they are doing while you play along.

  • Awesome !

  • whats the tuning?

  • fritskez... dude im pretty sure that if you are going to be able to play this you could likely get it from watching the video. Its not like he's pulling an eddie van halen and got his back to the audience!

  • and im pretty sure maybe not everyones as awesome at copying a song from just looking at their playing as you.

  • I have to agree with dogshize(lol dogshize) here. If you are at a level where you could learn this, you should be able to figure it out from the video. That is to say, if you don't have a decent grasp of what he's doing just by watching, you probably won't be able to successfully learn it anyway. That being said, I find these vids quite educational. I've learned a quite a few tunes just watching youtube vids. Knowing the tuning helps.

  • well, to be fair, it's not exactly that easy just to learn from the track. Since he does use a lot of subtle techniques. Im the type of learner that needs to read the music to play it rather than watch it. Just saying some people learn differently and the video probably won't help them.

  • Comment removed

  • lol is this a samick or what..?!

  • its a stonebridge..its the same one antoine uses in his older vids

  • SAMICKKK HA AHAHAHAA yeahfucking right. luckie is right its stonebridge. a beautiful guitar

  • I don't mean to be rude, but are there tabs available already? You told you would write this piece down on paper 4 weeks ago... so I'm very curious. I really want to learn to play this song! Any reaction would be great... thanks!

  • check the candyrat website they usually charge money for the tabs because they are all original songs

  • maaaaaaaaaan Really cool... really really cool.

  • Wish I could play that good.
