Awesome demo. Guitars sound better on this (apart from the shredding) - but the studio version is made brilliant by Phil's vocals (check out all of his great double tracking and backing vocals on it). And definitely suited more to Phil's solo album - doesn't have a Lizzy feel, plus the lyrics are too personal for the band.
Yes, this DOES mercilessly kick the ass of the version on Solo in Soho -- and I LIKED that other version, too. As a guitarist I know what it's like to be entirely taken over by the groove, so I can understand why Gary simply HAD to shred, even if it did piss off Phil, hehe.
He clearly says "Huey, play the intro", which explains why Huey reappears with the harmonica. As you were, Gary.

Love it. Thanks SabFan. Always dug the studio version. Can't believe this couldn't get any state-side airplay while people ate up disco.

"Gary...Play the Intro" !!!!!!LOL
What a great version of this song.
I wonder if it was ever going to be a Lizzy song? It fits just right on Solo in Soho, but I can't imagine it on Black Rose.
You are right saying that this version is better than the one that ended up on the album.
Thanks for posting.
