  • I was so disappointed when I first saw this movie thinking that there were no famous tunes in it. But at the end along comes Change Partners to redeem it. Irving Berlin at his very best!

  • Man, it's so hard to pick a favorite song out of their first 9 movies. The list is just incredible!

  • this has got to be my fav song from the Fred and Ginger movies.

  • So romantic. Sigh.

  • You cut it off just before he got called away to the phone.

    Best bit on the movie.

  • look to cover wojciech gąssowski his great !!!!

  • I LOVE FRED SINGING THIS -

  • Fabulous song. And Fred as always sings so delicately, he is charm itself..

  • I wrote a fan ficition based on this song after falling in love with it on Harry Connick Jr's Come By Me CD. Absolutely romantic song! If anyone wants to read it, send me a message and I'll send you the link!

  • no me gusta cabron,....ME ENCANTA!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • This is best American entertainment

  • @Hartmutvolker it's true, compare this or things like Laurel & Hardy to today's entertainment and it's a disgrace!

  • Ginger and Fred with subtitles. I guess this means they've hit the big time.

  • One of the best songs ever.

  • This, to me, is one of Berlin's most haunting melodies...and nobody does it better than Fred Astaire. Thanks so much for posying!

  • @LawrenceDavis : franks sinatra and antonio carlos jobim did it better

  • @ahmed341 no man. i like that version a lot too. that whole album is amazing. but nothing tops astaire

  • i always did love these classic movies

  • so very romantic

  • The recording of this made it to number one on the record charts in the second week of September 1938.

But song or no song, you've got to put the rest of what happens on here! I'm sure she eventually changes partners - but would be great to see it.

  • Fred is a sauve dude. ;)

  • has anybody got this clip without the Spanish subtitles - just the original movie clip and soundtrack, no subtitles?

please post, without delay - thank you!

  • mmm, nice

  • I think that there must be copyright restrictions on posting some of the great F&G dances on u-tube. "Never Gonna Dance" and "Let's Face the Music and Dance", I know was pulled...and I suspect their great "Change Partners" dance was also.

  • Someone had posted the "Change Partners" dance to the Pink Panther Theme. I could not believe how well the dance fit the music. I love the dance and the Pink Panther Theme is my ringtone. So I don't know if it was pulled because of the dance or the music. I loved it just the same.

  • PLEASE GIVE US THE DANCE SCENE

    WHICH FOLLOWS THIS........

    Thank you !!

  • this is always lovely but i wish you could upload the dance that follows. Its my fave and a master piece

  • Oh same here! That's the one I was looking for. Although this is perhaps one of the most beautiful Fred & Ginger moments.. really a beautiful song but the following dance sequence is the best in the film! Thank you for sharing this one :)

  • Me encanta esta película. Para mí es la mejor de Rogers y Astaire, inclusive mejor que Top Hat.

  • Lovely song - and Fred's singing -

    JUST PERFECT...

    Thank you.....

  • I love Sinatra's version of this song. It's so pretty.

I think the line ,"I'll tell the waiter to tell him he's wanted on the telephone," is so clever.

  • What a gorgeous Irving Berlin song.

Did any other performers in movies get this many great songs? Fred and Ginger's movies just churned out one fantastic tune after another.

  • Irving Berlin estuvo nominado al Oscar por esta y otra canción en 1939.

  • 1:24...

    *sigh* Oh, Fred...

  • the man (fred astarie0 is cool and a gentleman always.

  • Happy 110th birthday Fred

    u rock

  • Fred is charming and when he sings (or dances) he is irresistible:)

  • This is so lovely and Fred and Ginger together are wonderful but their dancing would have made it complete.

  • Another one of my favourite songs from the Astaire-Rogers movies. :D

  • That was so sweet!
