nope, unlike mai hime mai otome has no real romace aspect to it. i'd say mai otome is kind of more lighthearted and adventurous. still awesome in its own way. ;)
Well, thats because the video is made of scenes from Mai Otome and not Mai Hime. Though Mai Otome is not a real sequel, the series features some of the same characters in totaly different roles. And imo it's just as awesome as Mai Hime. :)

@bitslice Technically Mai-Otome is a direct sequel to Mai-HiME, it just takes place in the far future, after SEARRS' Golden Milennium thing has come to pass. In-universe, the MIYU and Mikoto of Mai-Otome are also the same MIYU and Mikoto of Mai-HiME, and Rena Sayers and Arika Sayers are descendants of Alyssa Searrs, which is why MIYU watches over them and why they also have the glowy hair.
