  • the eargasm starts at 00:00

  • I love it when I come back to a video and see my comment is top rated. Whaaaaa

  • @JoostVanKommer nah it starts at 0:00

  • some Eric Johnson shit right meya..Mayer is the master of filling in the blanks old innovators left behind.

  • I wasn't keen on the slide solo until I understood blues, this is the stuff, man.

  • god i hope the curse of the crossroads is dead X{o

  • dude

  • watch the full concert on my channel

  • where is this?? ahhhh in the Netherlands ty:)

  • mine starts while listening to the original

  • Anybody have any idea how he's getting that sound out of the guitar at the start of the video, is he using a pedal or something to bring out the harmonics? thanks

  • @Moshermini, i think its skill :D

  • @Moshermini It might be that it was where he was playing, and the guitar might have something to do with it too. Since he's playing an es-335, it has hallow wings, on both sides of the body, and that probably allows for some harmonics to come through with the feedback you get when smacking a neck. That's about my best guess

  • @Moshermini He's slapping the harmonics (:

  • 1:04 yeah and that would be me... crazy shit

  • don't look at the camera you idiots, look at john!!!!

  • I just LOVE this version!

But I have been wondering...how much of these fairly young people in the audience know that this is not John's original song?

  • @thelastview

I Knew it when I was there =)

  • Yea yea, JOhn Mayer is great, I agree. But is there really no one to praise the guy who's playing the slide guitar? I think he's great!!!

  • @DonFixote100 Heck yeah man Robbie McIntosh legendary.

  • I just want that John Mayer brings a new live album out!

  • I just love this version. Great intro and build up to the song.

  • i miss DeLa:(

  • haha sorry, got it, simply hit the ahrmonic when you bend the note :D ( an octave higher)

  • can someone tell me how he gets that extremly screaming tone at 0:30? i know its somehow using the harmonnics, but i dont know the exact way :(

  • that slide guitar solo is AMAZING

  • Its like watching a music porn on youtube. This is sex. hit if you like !

  • @KarimBaroliaMusic dude, u should try sex then! I promise you that sex is alot better..

  • 1:31 Joe Satriani

  • I'm not sure you know what HD is ?

  • I wonder if Robert Johnson had any idea in 1936, that in the year of 2010, one of the most talented people on the planet would be singing his lyrics, and continuing his legacy... and that john mayer... would have 1000's of teenage girls singing the lyrics that robert johnson wrote all them years ago.. John Mayer.... Thanks for keepin the blues alive my good man!!!!

  • he is all masters blended into one , all dead giants came back to life in one..

his music has depth and soul and all the riches that need to be.

great songwriter and a poet too ! How many of us could manage to convince our gods to play behind us as a rythm guitarist like he did with Eric Clapton...

All that young generation of followers will grow up with him and follow him everywhere..He is saving souls !

I shd admit, I have gone through zillions of records and he is the one

  • thanks for the upload sheriff

  • The ES-335 suits him so well.

  • let John Mayer does his blues pop thingy and Joe Bonamassa does his blues thing. They are the new generation guitarists. Doing their best to cater modern crowd while maintaining their blues feel.

  • umm robert johnson,, clapton,, but hellfa good geetar playaa

  • I recommend Choi Woo Joon - Jang nan III

  • 1:31 JOE SATRIANI!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE!!!

  • the eargasm starts at 2:07

  • @JoostVanKommer The eargasm starts at 00:00

  • @JoostVanKommer No it starts at 00:00 and never stops again.

  • @JoostVanKommer Mine starts at 0:00 and continue until 3:56 <3

  • @JoostVanKommer nah it's from beginning till end!

  • All I can say is I hope JM doesn't get killed in a fucking plane crash....because I want to listen to his music for the REST of my life, and if something took him away from us, yes, it would immortalize him forever, but FUCK MAN, that would truly be the DAY the music truly, once and for all, died.

  • @MrVeeRob Would indeed be a great loss. But his music will live on forever. Btw, let's not forget we also have Joe bonamassa en Kenny Wayne Shephard

  • i love the epiphone coronet of the other guy

  • Where is JJ?? :(

  • @IAMTHOMYORKE This is Keith Carlock - even better (played with Steely Dan, Sting, Oz Noy, ....), a true master!

  • if he sang 1 octave higher and got rid of backing vocals it would have been perfect. the guitars' groove is amazing

  • 1:32 peyton manning

  • anyone got tabs for intro solo?

  • @warpman315 Learn it by ear. Sick of people asking for tabs.

  • @joshua9312 seriously thats wht you do to get good music is an aural tradition by using tabs your just moving your fingers to the frets instead of actually hearing it in your head

  • @joshua9312 could you tell me how i can slap the guitar without getting the "slaptone" ? i got his aintno sunshine solo down, but i think im using the wrong slaptechnique...

  • @pumukellll For which song? The Ain't no Sunshine or Crossroads intro?

  • @pumukelllit doesnt really matter which one, i dont have problems with getting the right notes. my prob is the technique he uses ( i cant slap like he does WITHOUT getting the "slapsound) in the aint no sunshine solo he does it at the end, and one doesnt here the "knockin"... that my prob. you have an idea? :)

  • Johns played his cards well when he was younger. Blues isn't really in mainstream music today but through doing pop music and gaining a following with dedicated fans, people are gonna follow him wherever he goes now. I can honestly say that I never really listened to blues before hearing his pop stuff. Through him i've listened to so many blues artists. Anyone who says hes a wanna be blues man is retarted. He was smart and used his talent in the most efficient way.

  • @yucky1336 You're absoluteley right man. If it wasn't for John Mayer I would've never discovered Stevie Ray Vaughan :P

  • @yucky1336 For me it kinda went the other way; I've started listening to more pop now, which I'm grateful, because it got me away from metal! John Mayer made me listen to more blues too though. Anyway, he really makes the world keeping the blues and the great music from the old days, and makes the retarded people who listen to shit listen to music made with passion! Gotta love this guy!

  • @zZHighwayToHellZz most definitely. cant wait for the new album

  • John should get rid of those backing voice girls.

  • I started playing guitar because i loved listening to "Try!" Gotta love blues

  • pause at 3:47, cumface

  • This is good music for younger generations, there is still hope for blues and rock`n roll in future

  • @diddymies

Yep, I was 15 when I started with guitar, but I played classical guitar was obsolutely boring shit, because I loves blues, funk and rock. I stopped doing it and went learning on my own, it's hard, but I'll manage because blues, funk and rock, ROCK! x)

  • FUCK YEAH. His guitarplay is so fucking sweet. In all the midst of all dance songs these days it is so amazing to have someone stepping up like this. SRV |,,|

  • I just couldn't crank this loud enough through my headphones...so damn tasty

  • please Youtube make an button that's says F*CKING NICE, I will press it until the button breaks!!!

  • like 99 percent of those people have no idea about this song's origines

  • orripilante...

  • Robert Johnson and Eric Clapton disliked this ;)

Naah, I bet they liked it

  • why do people wear the pink hats?

  • @fruitywheelz

    it is pinkpop.

  • Big Booty Bitches @ 1:28 !

  • God..that tone..how?

  • Who gave Chuck Norris a guitar ?!?!

    I wanna thank him....

  • That´s Great.That´s Epic.

  • WHAT A FUCKING SOLO

  • robbie is a BEAST!!!

  • This is better than sex. He is SO great on that guitar. the groove people, the GROOVE! :D

  • as much as i adore Carlock, Jordan just has this Groove that is irreplaceable.

  • thumbs up if keith carlock is better then JJ Johnson!

  • @gozertje567 they both have their qualities, so I say even.

  • i dont know how you guys feel... but i would hate to be robbie mackintosh following up a solo like that..

  • If you love john, green thumb please :)

  • best version of this song!!!!! the tempo is soo much faster. makes me wana jump

  • His version is better than eric clapton's version

  • welke hater heeft thumbs down gedaan >.<

  • @DJ0KNUF justin bieber

  • Vet man!

  • Ladies and Gentleman, the most exciting blues guitarist in the last 20 years. Oh and Mr Keith Carlock on drums!

  • @funkfanNo1 Mark Knopfler????

  • didn't like those backing vocals =/

  • not crossroads, but still good vid

  • robbie Mcintosh is da man!

  • im so glad that John is getting robert johnson's music to 15 year old girls.

  • @nikgottheblues

Couldn't agree anymore even if i tried! The fact that he gets small girls to listen to the blues in the first place! More than any hater could do! It won't be long before many of the blues legends as we know will be gone, either dead or too old for gigs - and then what do we have left? Good thing John is keeping the blues alive!

  • Robbie McIntosh killing it on the slide!! What a legend!

  • he always was more than popsongboy

  • Best sounding guitar ever made!

  • 2:09: That bend is the best fucking way to start out this solo :| omfg that Gibson sounds fucking sweet !

  • That Gibson sounds soooo good!

  • he can really make that guitar sing

  • eso es un campo de conejetess!!!

  • someone should totally post a tutorial lesson for the intro (if anyone can play that of course)

  • omg.....mackintosh solo.....a beast1

  • Haha! Watch the camera shy bitch at 1:53-1:57!

  • what happened to his drummer? and @ToshevKrste this is a Clapton cover.

  • @zzzzzushi Its actually a Robert Johnson song, but Clapton really made it famous.

  • great crowd rain + cold + some hot girls - where is that?

  • awesum style guitar playin...wow..n wat a great song!! :);)

  • Gaaf!

  • Comment removed

  • looks like Keith Carlock on drums..

  • was he just slapping harmonics to all the notes in the beginning O_O

  • insane intro.

  • You got to have a big dick to play like that..

  • @kdhdv And you're not his mom xD. Clapton fucked up the song himself the moment he left Cream, John's version takes Cream's version, adds some funk: voila, adds up into an awesome song. I agree that John Mayer doesn't lay his soul into his guitarwork enough to become a legend, but his technique and licks are SO GODLIKE.

  • @Vr0l1jk good point about Clapton messing his own version up. I disagree about what you are saying, he did make interesting changes to the song, wrong person to do the changes in my opinion. Therefore that is why I am saying he should not be covering this song. I was not acting like his mom, I was stating my opinion.

  • @kdhdv

lol wat solo is so good wat u on man lol u mirin? lol xD

  • @kdhdv Its nothing like claptoons lol wat u talen botut lol wat?

  • @kdhdv Clapton soloed differently while playing this song so why can't Mayer solo differently to the recorded version of it that Cream did?

  • Insane!!

WAY better than the studio track in my opinion!

  • wow!!! that amazing!!!

  • check out my Vid!

  • Now we can watch the legend grow. And one day we can tell our children how we witnessed how John Mayer became better and better. And they'll say: "Wow, that's so cool, dad. I didn't know you were so cool when you were young." Then I'll feel kind of insulted and ground them for a week with no teleportation.

  • @YouNeedMani haha, awesome.

  • @YouNeedMani gay

? (tip: niet van EC)

  • is this a dvd?

  • @goodwrench838 No. its a registration of a live performance @ Pinkpop. Big festival in The Netherlands.

  • @mtllc555 Thanks for posting! These are awesome!

  • @mtllc555 ok thanks kzal is ff looken:P

  • @mtllc555 You know that Pinkpop is in Germany right? It's in Aachen...

  • @sebasredspecialfan Sorry your wrong mate. It's in Holland at a place called ''Landgraaf''

  • @goodwrench838 I don't know, is it?

  • @mayermusic1092 um idk thats why i asked

  • Hahahaha, the irony, he plays everything on a strat and then this on a gibson-like guitar, and it still sounds badass, amazing

  • Amazing shit!

  • even when he's really sick hes awsome!

  • this proves that John Mayer is so much more than just a pretty boy that sings pop songs
