  • Check out The Seahorses bass players new band We Could Be Astronauts (rather fitting for this video)

  • ur forgetting the ledgend john squire is behind it all top guitarist and writer

  • if i could kiss a song it would be this, it's perfect!

  • great tune

  • Is Chris Helme Frankie Cocozzas dad?

  • @yesnoyesno52 You've got a point there haha :L

  • I fucking LOVE this song!!!!!!!

  • 7 ppl dont know what good music is

  • Me too @ ChloeHawes01

  • Now listening to this in 2012 and still rocks!!

  • i was 10 at the beginning of the ninetines...i was a music addict since i was 9 years old... but even if i love all the modern decades of music ... i still think the 65-78 era of music are the best & the most creative... but surely yes we're not a majority to think like that...at least for those of my age...

  • I saw Chris Helme support Shed Seven, that guy has got one hell of a voice live as well as on the record.

  • This band could have become great if it wasn't for Squire's greediness at wanting the credit for everything. What a great defining 90's song this is.

  • "and don't ask me what went wrong....the list goes on and on..." - awesome lyric!

  • am i the only one who wants more songs like so young(in the misery dictionary) instead of the happy mersey tunes squire went on to do???

  • 7 people got blinded by the sun

  • This song is awesome. I hum it when I cycle to work sometimes. Forgotten what it was though. I bought it on cassette in Virgin in 1997.

  • @JasonRadley , 'Someone forgot to write a melody?' They're not the fucking Courteeners mate! It's a pretty damn strong melody even if u don't like the track. Silly comment!

  • @jonnyorchid84 The Courteeners? Blimey, I forgot about them. Excellent band. Good shout.

  • Someone forgot to write a melody.

  • @JasonRadley Someone forgot to turn their brain on.

  • Race mixing bullshit!!! YOU SUCK.

  • @HiawathaMohawk lol, what an utterly sad wee cunt.

  • Lush.

  • aaaah One of the stand out songs from a great time for great Brit bands :)

  • Rihanna, get the fuck off my Youtube page. I'm trying to listen to some real music.

  • Jesus, I remember when this came out, 97, getting old D:

  • Saw this band back in 1998 at the V Festival! Love them :)

  • class song, class lyrics!

  • Saw these guys at Glastonbury in the cold and mud, weather was awful so were the Seahorses, apart from John Squire that is, he and The Stone Roses rule.

  • squires rules

  • One of the greatest 90's album

  • brilliant!!

  • todays generation do not rely on guitar bands.

  • @hundhun17 Yeah, now they just rely on pressing a button and nodding their heads to the beat!

  • the 90's were great, we were young, pubs were full, bands had attitude and great songs too boot! i'll never forget the 90's! the best thing is this band were classed as one of the everyday bands that were out then, not global or massive but just one of the good bands about back in the day! i miss the 90's the music and pubs have gone by the by! just a note, i loved this band! i have seen chris helme live and his newer stuff is just as good! less solo's mind? he's good but he's not squire...

  • @Garethfeb16 agree

  • I remember going to see them on a monday back in school on tuesday during english sing to my self my english teacher walks over and says that my best friends from uni song did you know they are playing local this week would you like to meet um .... Epic 90's best time of my life :) long live cool english teachers and there rock and roll Uni friends :)

  • Too bad they only did one album...they were great back in the day! Best music was in the 90's!!

  • @dunkindoughnuts1 AGREED!!

  • im just re living the 1990s. god i wish i had a time machine!! ;)

  • Modern music, don't ask me what went wrong, the list goes on and on.

  • AMAZING! This stone roses, kasabian and oais

  • outstanding song so true what it means

  • Loved 90's indie

  • Adverts!!!!! arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh great song :)

  • INDIE RULES!!!!

  • not heard this for ages.got to say its fantastic.for a year or 2 ,the music coming from britain was glorious.oasis,radiohead,bluetones,blur.i could go on!!

  • the seahorses were one of the most underrated bands of there time ..

every generation has it's own music preference , the 80's were ground breaking

the 90's the birth of the britpop stigma .

the 00's r&b ......... music now rely's to much on samples an covers ...bands today couldnt write there own material if there lifes depended on it ......bring back the 80's real music ..

  • the high, the mighty lemon drops, the inspiral carpets!

  • todays music could even tie the britpop era`s shoelaces

  • good song. strongly written. like it, loved it back then, used to cover it my band when i was fifteen. still stands up now

  • DVHS Class on 97. Great memories listening to this at school. Fucking hell i am now 30. Still better than the shite that is out today.

  • @andrew20781, nice comment, my difference is, i'm 30 in december! lol

and i agree with the last part of it too!

  • I love this track.... amazing....!

  • Five people suffered motion sickeness.

  • agreed tvigness, agreed!

  • This will always be one of my favorite tunes. I never forget when I was at school my friends thought I was weird for liking the Seahorses, Radiohead, Travis (before they went shit), etc.

I used to say "you're wasting your time" with Aqua, Eternal and No Doubt. Who was right?

  • 1) the proper longer version is tonnes better

    2) They pinned WAYYY too much on Squire for the Seahorses...great guitarist but not great enough to base a hugely successful band around

  • isnt this written about Rick Witter (Shed Seven) Wife?

  • so good

  • all i can say is bloody good band nice to see the front man is still touring

  • lush

  • I`d forgotten how much I love this song. Thank you so much for posting.

  • this song is brilliant. its that simple

  • how does 5 people doesnt like this song....????????i don get it. if i dont like it i

would'nt do to click thumbs down.....

  • jon squire is the best guitarist of the 90's. Listen to the whole 'Do It Yourself'' album, it contains one of the best sounds i've heard from a Gibson Les Paul in my entire life. Just classic.

  • such a good band, still listen to this album and have to say....s@#ts all over most the rubbish about now

  • what a tune

  • This band was so underated it was ridiculous. Thank goodness I got a chance to see them live before they split.

  • Excellent video and excellent song

  • i had the jigsaw world t-shirt, but enevitably got fat and grew out of it, gutted

  • Mone the clare face :) hahahaha coke is our pal :)

  • at the space the productions maybe could be imposible for the human race!!!!! jajaja

  • I'm so lucky being from the 90's Seahorses, Happy Mondays, Stone Roses, Blur and Feeder.

I actually feel bad on todays generation.

  • @nathninetyone I couldnt agree more! We were a pretty spoilt bunch if you think back now!!! These youngsters dont know what they missed!!!!!!!!! x

  • @nathninetyone How could you forget the most successful band of the 90's OASIS!!!!!

  • @1990kevin1990 I don't know :( I love oasis so much

  • @nathninetyone Testify to that my friend....

  • @nathninetyone Blur...? don't you mean OASIS..!

  • @nathninetyone

People in the 80's felt bad for the 90's generation

    like wise 70's for the 80's , 60's for the 70's etc.

You may not agree but maybe in 25 years time somebody may revisit a 2000 -2010 track and say exactly what you said.

But all said and done I grew up in the 90's too and enjoyed all of 90's bands making my post pointless.

  • @nathninetyone Soon enough they'll have The Lions, along the road of inevitability!

  • @nathninetyone I feel bad for us as well, Some kids today are just so stupid.

  • Lucky enough to see Seahorses live, were given up on to early. Do It Yourself was top bannana

  • @SmoggyChris I saw them too, were bloody brilliant. Ah memory lane :)

  • Lucky enough to see Seahorses live, were given up on to early. Do It Yourself was top bannana

  • "The Seahorses" is an anagram of "He Hates Roses".

  • the guitar in this is awesome!! john squires!! quality!! helme's a good singer too!! the seahorses were underated

  • Should be re-released just to blow all the shite in the charts clean out the water ;))

  • i dont normally rate vids, just watch em, im sure most ppl dont rate vids either way, doesnt mean i dont think this tune is awesome :p

  • chris helme oh yes xx

  • @indiechick301 - oh yes- and not forgetting Mr. Squire - Perfect in every way - thank you xx

  • Very Beatle!!! I love it

  • What an absolutely brilliant song this was... my favourite from the late 90s.

Scary that time has flown by so quick!

  • wtf the video cuts out the proper intro! fail!

  • The Seahorses: The music industry's equivalent of a revenge shag.

  • Ah... but what a gooood shag it was!

  • john squire, fucking legend

  • @sharnotshaz Fuckin' A

  • Gotta agree with you pal!

  • classic 90's band...

where are they now - this is a mighty fine mixture of lyrics and music !!!

  • @trueplayer367

The singer supported shed seven at islington a month ago.

  • ty vevo, 13 years and still love this song

  • under rate band, these guys are shit hot, not as good as his work with the stone roses, but well done john.

  • John Squire - awesome guitarist. The singer - f*cking awful.

  • @xZosu I went out with a MILF for a few months when I was 20 on the strength she thought I looked like Chris Helme ( although i agree he's not a great singer )!

  • @frank4034 Lovin that mate - good work!!

  • John Squire - awesome guitarist. The singer - fucking awful.

  • if vevo was an arsehole, it would surely be John Wayne

  • brilliant 90's tune

  • havn't heard this for years , it's never on the radio , wtf

  • The leadsinger studied graphic design at scarborough tech, when l was there he was called chris fenton:))

  • @fluxfotos22 - No, you retard. His name is Chris HELME. and before you even try, Helme is his real surname, not a stage name. you are mixing up that Fenton bloke with one of your ex boyfriends.

  • fucking top

  • Slightly different (and, for me, better) than the album version.

  • Vevo's Shit

  • As much as John Squire is God, it's bloody ironic that the Seahorses best song was written by a busker he had bought in - Well done Chris Helmes.

  • John should bite the bullet and get the roses back together.

The seahorses rock, but a roses reunion would rock more.

    Peace -()-

  • vevo can go fuck off

  • ace tune this my band supported chris helme a while ago he played this acoustic

  • they are one of those bands who deserved more recognition than they did in the 90s...so sad......they are f*ckin' amazing!

  • Hail...he haTeS roses

  • As if you can really play drums in zero g.

You can't guarantee any of the drum pieces will be in the correct place when you need them.

    This video is fake.

  • @shimmisking nah mate, this video is totally 100% real, Helme hooked his mic up and Squire got his guitar amped and miraculously made the song sound identical to the studio recording ^o)

  • amazing live too!

  • wow now this is a fucking tune! better than the stone roses? i dunno but it took us to another level from them! and to me that makes it a classic!

  • @Andyontherocks Stone Roses and Ian Brown are Legends! I like of this sound too, but is bullshit make any comarsion.

  • @nickbaldeagle01 if you wanna catch shaun head to the co op on worsley rd salford. hes always in there buying a bottle!!!!! twisting my melon man!!!!!!!!! hehehe

  • I'm pretty sure Helme wrote the entire song. Well, I think he's credited with it on the album anyway. The music does sound very John Squire. Although Helme could have written the lyrics/chords and that's why he gets full credit

  • the intro sounds like CAN.

  • check out the first ever concept for an ipod at 3.09 .........

  • he hates roses!!!

  • Great great song tho not as good as "you can talk to me" which wasnt on the album- go figure?
