its the reason i wont buy an expencive rig, people come on youtube to show it off and you get crap on CW this rig or ic7000 mic`s low etc etc scares me into not paying 1000`s out.

The Pro3 is FLAWED by design! The radio has very audible and distinct DSP artifacts on CW, especially with the filter in position 1. The audio does sound 'veiled' compared to other models, and the pops, crackles and slight distortion are fatiguing and annoying! Many other veteran Hams have agreed on eHam and other sites. Icom should issue FULL REFUNDS to all the dissatisfied Hams who bought one new! I've had this rig well over a year now, and this rig sucks on CW!

Recien me compre el ProII....muy pocas diferencias entre ambos...ciertas mejorias sobre todo....No necesitas comprarle filtros....ya los trae todos....se calienta un poquito en su disipador (parte posterior) pero no le hace nada. Estoy muy contento con el mio....di $1350.00 (envio incluido)...

I hear 'pops, crackles, and snap' sounds on CW recieve. Are these normal? They sound annoying.

No, they are NOT normal! Many veteran Hams have complained about the same thing as you regarding these CW artifacts on the Pro3! Many of us operate the filter in 'position 1' to get a more natural, non-veiled sound. This is where many artifacts are heard. Icom will not admit to the design flaw, and many of us feeled 'ripped off'!!!!! SSB is great on this rig, by the way.

wide its just deep sound on your compression audio out tx.

like wide,mid,low,high!!

press the monitor and put earphones and press comp wide , and mid ! you can hear the differences!!
