  • I miss you so Karen! your music has always shaped my life.... love you so much!

  • Karen was not only a phenomenal singer, she also clearly had a knack for performance. I love to watch how the music crawls out of her body, in a physical sense... it's like the music is bubbling up inside her, and she's trying to keep a cork on it. In another life, she probably would have been a great dancer. It's like the music inside her is going in so many directions, yet she's trying to contain it. LOVE HER.

  • ...I wish that Karen had realized how visually gorgeous she was. Tv can be unflattering to some and yet karen looks beautiful.

  • Karen having to do a skit revolving around food.....talking about appearance.... singing "we better diagnose them right for the local shrink". Oh my God- the hell that would have been going on inside her head at that time, its very confronting and terribly sad. RIP Karen.

  • I LOVE THIS SO MUCH :)

  • Ironic that she is preparing food in this skit...

  • I want to live in Carpenter Land

  • @nakluts ME TOO! :)

  • This is probably my favorite on of this 7-part series.

  • Calgon, take me away.....

  • Is that cute little girl Kristy McNichol, from the movie "Little Darlings"?

  • Karen rambling on about food.... :(

  • Sadly she was probably starving when they made this. The torment that was going on in the mind of this beautiful and extremely talented young woman.

  • Well, if it is any solace, the food was probably plastic props for the most part. Real food does not hold up well for repeated shootings under very hot Klieg lights they use for studio productions. It is bitter sweet to watch these videos of the Carpenters. Thanks for posting them.

  • So ironic...

  • no so sad. May she rest in Peace † GOD bless you and Merry CHRISTmas †

  • It was funny how the piano started playing BEFORE Richard sat down at the piano. This the era when ALL performers Lip synched on TV!

    Great memories....thanks for posting!

  • if this is 1978 this before she even got thinner, eat karen please.

  • well, its too late because she died years ago from anorexia complications in case you didnt know that already! horrible i know.
