The series is creepy and mindscrew-y, but this song (at least this version of it) is not. I find it has a quite angelic/haunting (but in a good way, like you definitely remember this song after you hear it) quality to it (especially since the girl who sang it died).

Watch something happy after Evangelion, because it tends to make people suicidal and depressed.
