  • what about nevada?

  • As the saying goes, Its better to have something and not need it than to need it and not have it!

  • Hello, I am looking into getting a short wave but don't where to start. This will include where to shop, how to use it or what it would cost.

I am looking for one that can run "off the grid" without me hand cranking for hours and have it run for only a few minutes. Also, I am looking for a portable one (for me bug out bag). This could (and probably should be) a second one.

What advice would you give to someone like me just starting out but does know what to do. Thank you,

  • "If there's an earthquake get high" like smoke refer?

  • looks like he eat ten of his bug out bag's

  • What does the bible have to do with natural disasters?

  • Paranoid? Then how come you have 911 system? An emergency room system? A Trauma center? Fire Stations? Paranoia is a mental state of constantly keeping tabs of one's surroundings & preparing for the worse and unexpected. During WW II people are saying it won't happen again because they have learned the lessons of WW I. But WW II did happened! Being a prepper is being an independent personnal 911 system yourself for you cannot be sure how well prepared government agencies are these days!

  • this guy isn't really smart run to the hills if there's a earth quake an a title wave is coming there's no way in hell your going to out run a title wave

  • @shadow2155 the people that knew what to do in japan did... your not very smart are you

  • The bible says people will flee to the mountains in the ladder days.

  • I live on the west coast, and I'm pretty prepared. And the bible? You're kidding right?

  • ok....

  • we should be prepare cause it is serious so stop laughing.......

  • well then cletus i bet im just paranoid dag nabit ooo yea i will go get high (.)o(.)

  • just because youre not paranoid dosent mean someone is not after you....*looks both ways*

  • just because youre not paranoid dosent mean someone is not after you....*looks both ways*

  • I'm about 1400 - 1500 ft above sea level, inland shelter by some mountains. So unless it rains forty days and forty nights I'm good.

  • Great insight to constantly remind people what their grand parents did to have a stock of food and water. To practice outdoor skills such as hiking, hunting, camping, compass reading and most of all have a sense of community to help out your neighbors.

  • RIGHT ON!!!

My preps are for my children because I love them enough to pack up more than one bob. Your fancy salon hairdo and designer highheel fetish will murder your children who have no seeds, no waterfilter, no boots, no iodine, and no idea of a safe place to run... bbbbbut you let them have disney channel and xbox instead of dandlion salad and a knife. I agree, phffft... dont come cryin to me either.

  • Agreed. Do not wait for the nanny state government to save you; they are just full of a bunch of bamma shit and they're of course leading the sheeple on.

  • wise words, good video man!

  • I just looked up where I live Lakeland, Florida is 141 feet above sea level

I guess it is better than Miami where I grew up and they are already loosing land due to rising sea level.

  • Shut your fat ass up, i wanna punch you in the face, while other are PREPARED for SHTF, i wanna say earthquake/tsunami, your fat ass is gonna be floating above the water DEAD while other PREPARE for SHTF...haha you make me laugh...what a scrub...

  • BUT YOURE FAT SO YOU WOULD BE FUCKED

  • @rangers11000 You are a very simple minded individual. The man is trying to give you practical advice and you make with the insults. There's little doubt in my mind that you will be the lump of poo floating in the surf rather than dsarti1.

  • @outbackeddie

Dont think so mate.military experiance or some fat guy putting up videos on Youtube.who would survive.

  • Paranoia is just a heightened state of awareness...

  • @MrPhonx CDC zombie apocalypse

  • better to be safe then sorry

  • I agree with what your saying BUT! do you speak any languages??????

and nothing personal but, you do have a very strong accent, some foreigners even if they do speak english to any degree they might still not understand you.

Love you vids always to the point no bullshit, keep em' coming

  • Hendersonville LDS Cannery is now appt only and selling out pretty quickly. Nice lady there said she might have to limit our order quantities - so answer is yes, more folks taking note and prepping up. Thanks for posting your videos as they have helped my knowledge base quite a bit.

  • man skinny has a good point...

  • You look like you have lost a 100 lbs good going.

  • @ lunarm. Great to see someone else on here from the Jacksonville area :). I think we're safe compared with other areas of the country, but I always keep prepping just in case. God's best to you and your family.

  • I live in the UK, I live 60 miles from the coast high on a hill, any earth quakes we get are so small you would hardley now they hit, I have a bug out bag food ready to go, both me and the wife own good bug out vehicles 4x4s, most of my friends over here think i'm crazy, but you never now what the hell is going to happen, guess I be the one laughing, when the shit hits the fan

  • @cavealaska1 I'm in the UK too. I live in London - different set of problems but I'm prepared all the same. I tell you this when it does all go tits up (and it will) then people like you, me and dsarti will be laughing ourselves sick with relief. Good luck pal! Keep it up!

  • @MrBoggerly good to see another UK prepper, I hope you were nowhere near them riots yesterday, looks like the scum are at it all ready, stay safe down there! Good look Bro.

  • @cavealaska1 Good for you dude. right on!

  • You goddamn preppers make me sick!

I live in LA and nothing ever goes wrong! Its all sunshine palm trees

    and silly homos lol

  • Dude, this is a micro gloat compared to things to come.

  • Hell ya! earthquake on the coast?... GET HIGH!!!

  • Stupid paranoid people like us will inherit the Earth. The "brilliant" and "educated" folks will be busy trying to think themselves out of it. My family in the city has been calling me asking if I have potassium iodide or iodate. Oh and they want me to send them my geiger counter and dosing pens, YAH! RIGHT!

Paranoia is the only reason I am still alive

  • Yeah. I think all those West Coasters will be getting high in a quake rather than going to high ground. Good call dsarti.

  • Hey ,,the Bible does say in the end days. there will be earthquakes and floods in divers places...As well it says,In the last days men shall lust for one another with heat in their loins, and shall be non eaters of meat..Sounds like the world we live in at this very moment...Thanks for the great vids dsarti1..

  • All preppers are crazy.........crazy like a fox!

  • hey..don' listen to a voice of reason...remember the NWO's motto..kill off people and reduce the surplus population..if this guy says get to high ground..or says be prepared...maybe ya oughta listen..just a thought..preparing for disaster is NOT paranoid..or a joke

  • this dude would eat his year supply (if he has one) in a week.

  • TooShay! as the French like to put it!!!

  • Get high. Check.

    Now what?

  • I'm ready. The events in Japan make me a wee nervous about the nuclear power plant nearby in Jacksonville, Florida.

  • yea, GET HIGH!! lol

  • @killerpitdbo That's what I was thinking.

  • Amen !

  • AMEN!!! I grew up on the East Coast in New England and it could happen there too. It happened in Newfoundland in 1929.

  • Seem to be only two states of mind available - parinoia and denial. Why can't we seem to take control of our own destiny?

  • @TheJm8284 Okay, I have to ask. How do you control destiny? I believe that is impossible, it is just the illusion of control. None of us can really control anything. We think we can, we think we should be able to , we think we ought to try, and we cannot. You see, this attempt to control a process in which is uncontrolable is just a way to avoid dealing with what one is thinking, feeling and doing.

  • @noncompliant2 Exactly, but why is that? It would seem that most human's would like to live in relative peace and harmony. Could it be that we as a species have been controlled since the dawn of time? Could it be that we have been taught how to be dysfunctional, and, have just come to accept our dysfunction, as a normal part of the self? The tribal peoples of this planet, don't seem to suffer from the malignant form of narcissism that we refer to as "ego."

  • @TheJm8284 I personally think it has something to do with the "process of dualism". For example, fear and control/dependency and control. We cannot give up our need to control unless we are willing to relinquish our fear; we cannot give up our fear unless we stop trying to control. Also, we cannot give up the need to control unless we give up our dependency on someone else or something else outside of us for our survival. In my book, the illusion of control is the culprit.

  • @noncompliant2 I call it Primary Human Codependence, a dysfunctional relationship between our ego (devil on one shoulder) and our spirit (angel on the other shoulder).Creats a compelling need for some sense of "normal self", which tends to drive us to develope coping mechanisms known as personality disorders. We have an interdependency of others because it is through everyone around us that we formed our early sense of normal self. Acting out what we think, that they think, normal is.

  • Nice. I have been getting flamed even more after the japan earthquake. I guess the trolls will be extinct after SHTF.

I commented on roadwarriors video on food storage and got we both got flamed because he thought we're paranoid.

  • This would be a good video except for the libtard part. Prepping knows no politics and there as many liberals prepping as there are conservatives. The difference is that liberals are actually out there prepping, not sitting online talking about it. That's why you don't see a bunch of them on YouTube. From being online from time to time I find that less liberals are sponging off the government than neo-cons are. It's seems like most neo-cons are on disability or food stamps or medicare/SS.

  • YankeePrepper he's from where I'm from . He thinks Minneapolis Zombies are going to get him ? I think they just want to eat his cakes !_Billy

  • {paranoid) yeah we are

  • Preppers are stupid, throw rocks at them! :P

  • i get high regardless of earthquakes everyday!

  • You just got to turn all your friends and family into preppers like i am.

  • Great Video!, cool website. Thanks!

  • i dont think it is ever safe to bug out, what will i do live in a forrest with my kids,no food or water, leavve your vehicle when you head in the woods,it just doesnt make sense.

  • @18wheeler76 Would you rather live under water or under a tree?

  • @18wheeler76 Some times you have no choice. Just look at the evacuation from the nuclear reactor melting down in Japan right now. You have no choice but to leave. What if a train derailed carrying dangerous chemicals in your neighborhood? There are tons of situations that could require bugging out. You just have to know when to stay, and when to run to the hills, or some other safe spot.

  • my boyfriends dad is in japan right now visiting on a work trip. We can't contact him at all and we are really worried about him. Great video as always dsarti.

  • prepared my bugout bags for 8 tonight, but need advice on communication devices. can someone tell me what is the best type of communication device to have if an earthquake or solar flair happens..ty

    weather radio?

    ham radio?

    cb?

    something else?

what about battery powered versus wind up?

  • we need to make a hour long tv show about prepping and put it on after the news

it would be funny to see the results

  • I was just talking about Jesus saying that...probably not even an hour ago.

  • If they didn't learn from the likes of Katrina, then they are doomed to repeat. To me, that seems to be what is crazy. I'll take my "paranoia" any day.

  • @Thenewyorkcritic I tried to sound like the typical sheeple. I guess it worked. ;-)

  • Hell no... I had someone say I was crazy then a small earthquake happend that same day and i was like seee....

  • GETEM DSARTI1

  • The highest point in florida is 315 ft and thats in the capital of Talahasee. That's it. The rest of florida has an average of 11 feet above sea level. Florida would be devastated in such an event. I always said there is something basically wrong with a place that's got NO MOUNTAINS. Yea, that's right, I'm a mountain kinda guy.

  • @ED209ISBACK MOUNTAIN gal here

  • paranoid?....so be it......my life is so much easier because i am prepared . i feel more secure , more confident and have peace of mind.everything i have invested in will never go to waste when properly maintained and rotated.not just for and if shtf but if i become unemployed or illness strikes. i will survive......depending on the government tit is out of the question.......look at katrina

  • @momzilla57

I agree with you. Knowing that if anything happens I have food, water, basic medical supplies etc gives me peace of mind like nothing else ever has.

  • Chavaliay1, I will suggest to you that many people fall within the wide range you defined . . . preppers to LibTards. The journey is slow from unprepared to prepared and everyone who begins the task is at a different stage in the journey. At this time I do not have a BOB, I realize to many that is a basic first step. I have been collecting food, water, fuel, medication and a bit of protection. Watching this video has prompted me to get my butt in gear and get my BOB done this week.

  • Im not going to come crying to you for help either. If a tornado goes blasting through your house dont come crying to me for help. You would have less notice than me. This is a piss poor way of looking at it. We all have a place we call home and we pray for our safety. I am praying for the good peaple of Japan not praysing myself for where I live.

  • Jesus said "if a blind man leads another blind man they'll both fall". Wonder if he's coming back to shop at Walmart? lol.

  • What was the point of this video? Obviously a large portion of your audience are preppers so they don't think like the LibTards. Is it for the prepper stalkers that just roll around to the videos and click dislike?

  • Believe the impossible is possible, and they will have taken their first step.

  • I'm 900 feet up and 30 miles inland in CT, I'm looking forward to global warming so I can have ocean front property.

    Richard of Danbury

  • @Richardofdanbury lol you obviously dont understand global warming

  • i live in california and people dont think people that prep are paranoid but, they think its stupid and a waste of money.

  • Crazy is not being prepared...---... 73's kd5hqf

  • Great to see a new video Dave :)

  • "If you carry a gun, people will call you paranoid. That's ridiculous.. If you have a gun, what in the hell do you have to be paranoid for."

    Jeff Cooper

  • Sure is a good thing that Japan is full of "PREPTARDS" huh?

  • friend, there will always be doushbags. why do you allow them to stress you out?

  • ★★★★★

  • 73s from Florida. We have some high ground here. Ten-4 on prepping and Amateur Radio. Kenwood TS-520S sits right here on top of the 1950 era steel desk. Crazy like a fox I say. Keep up the good work David.

I will save my call sign for later. out.

  • PREPPING IS NOT CRAZY! I PREP AM I CRAZY? NO! KEEP ON WINNING DAVE!

  • What is truly amazing is the reservation, the conduct, the character of the Japanese people in light of this epic disaster. This is so much worse than Katrina and do you remember how Americans there reacted? What will it be like when this happens here? Will we be as polite and cooperative with each other?

  • @stevesmitty79 I'd like to believe that Americans are world leaders, and would show our fortitude and civility; we will be tested soon enough. Preparation is very important, and it would be foolish to say otherwise, but what we are preparing for is often what we get. Are we preparing for life and peace-- or are we preparing for the worst in our character? How well we know ourselves has much to do with the testing we have already experienced.

I've been through the '89 CA earthquake...

  • .... so I have a feeling about the next one. I've met heros who were on the saving end, and I've met the fearful cowards. I've saved three lives myself, and I was prepared for the test each time. I've grown to know myself and how I am likely to respond. I'm prepared spiritually to do the right thing. Others will have to be tested before they know themselves.

"if you don't know yourselves, then you are the poverty" ~~JC

  • Dave, all us preppers are crazy and paranoid...we are crazy and paranoid enough to want and know how to live...Umm is it just me ....or is it the sheeple that are the crazy ones....ultimately time will tell.!

    Peace

  • @electeknowizard u prep, consciously or sub-consciously, because the lives you have now aren't what you had set out, so you "prep" in the hope that something like this will happen, in order to bring everyone back down to your level, and bring some sort of meaning to your life.

  • Great to see you on Dave!

  • I think your wasting your time trying to deal with the naysayers, firstly its a waste of time and secondly it is dangerous, when the shit hits these people will become desperate and they know you are prepared they will come looking for you.

  • I was reading through the comments and a few I couldn't help but respond to were: guns and ammo are not needed in Japan because they have a citizenry that is not liable to loot, rob and rape (like we have in the USA). Secondly, they haven't been legally able to own guns since we whipped their asses in WWII. Thirdly, I like being able to protect my food, water and ammo stores from those hellbent on taking them. I am a ham radio operator, keep emergency coms at all times and am prepared for a lot.

  • There is many city halls in Florida are only a few ft above sea level

  • Nice video dave . welcome back

  • Hey Dave !! Great to see you're back. We need you, man.

  • Prepping for fallout if all 6 reactors go. Food water shortages in Japan already.

  • @Thenewyorkcritic i'm pretty sure that post was sarcasm

  • not many tsunami's or hurricanes here in missouri. we dodge twisters for a livin'. and we do live like 5 miles from a nuclear power plant >.>

  • I'm liberal and live in California, I don't have to worry though cuz I live on a 500 foot hill.

That being said, I'll have to put together a BOB, need one of those henry survival rifles.

  • I carry my EDC with my at all times. /watch?v=UfvGfiFa5yU

I have some basic items in there (along with some that more people should carry on them) and I could survive with these items alone (probably won't be as comfortable as with my B.O.B.)

My Bug Out Bag is much more capable and would provide me with the tools that I need for surviving. I always keep it by the door just in case.

Watch my video (all items are relatively cheap but good quality): /watch?v=MU6wP8vRls0

  • I WAS THING THE SAME THING TOO :)

  • That church lady hmmmmm!!! at .38 second mark was priceless.

  • Dave, good video!!

  • Keep the videos coming ! Every Day LOL !

  • LOL I was high on the coast during an earthquake. It was another life. :)

Paranoia is only a heightened sense of awareness. LOL

We should always be prepared for disasters. They happen.

  • I am there with you.

  • "Don't come cryin' to me for help"--

That sounds more Pagan than Christian. You sound like you feel superior to ALL Californians and Floridians. Wasn't Jesus teaching about compassion and generosity?

  • @carefulcarpenter I don't remember anywhere in the Bible where it talks about dealing with stupid people.I would think that if you keep telling and teaching someone to survive and they ignore you over and over then they get what they deserve. In other words>>>YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID!!!

  • @dshedder1 The idea Jesus put forth was the intention to reach out to people, not to see them as stupid, but blind. We help people awaken with information and patience-- not labeling them "Stupid". Ignorance is blindness to the awareness that "Ye are all Gods" ~~ Jesus.

Your calling may be to help communicate via your amateur radio during a crisis.

I don't see the need for Guns, Amo, and Gold in Jaapan right now-- so it sort of blows the common prepper advice, doesn't it? Blankets and water

  • seems a lot more people are getting prepped now... :-) i for one am glad... makes my job just a little bit easier....

  • 100% on this one Dave. The news stories are all about "people have no food or water and they are cut off from the government" HaHaHa Take that sheeple.

  • What do you think they got FEMA for? So we don't have to prep. Prepping for things that never happen is what govt eggheads live for, but not red blooded Americans. We get our supplies ready for the games on Sunday and the hangover on Monday. That's the best we can do. We can't be expected to be ready for the unknown. That's why we call it the unknown. You just invite problems if you prepare for them. The Lord will provide. There is safety in numbers & few preppers. I'll live forever.

  • my wife went to the store today and met a friend there, she told her that we are prepping, well her friend just laughed out loud and made a dumb comment about it and also she said i have a foodsaver vac sealer but i never use it.She said if anything should happen she would come to our place. I guess we preppers better hide our stuff somewhere under locks and bolts and scarecrows.

  • @truebelieving Why the hell would she tell anyone that you're prepping? That's a big risk

  • @thehilitereel we all have to take care in what we say. I felt a little uneasy when she told me that, so from now on we both will be extra careful about what we say. We live in a little village of about 1300 people or less, word travels fast in these parts. Thanks for your concern and be forever learning and prepping.

  • @truebelieving Lol I went thru the same with my friends and neighbors, when they said that they will just come to my house. I lol back and said like hell, if your not down with the program you better stay away! Prep yourself Im not taking care of any fools that dont want to listen to the warnings. I mentioned that if you live in an apartment cool share the cost of what Im doing and your welcome, if not stay away or get shot!

  • An item I will add to my BOB is a SPOT satellite beacon. Folrida is in the path of a potential tsunami that will eventually happen as a result of a mega tsunami caused by the volcano that will slip into the ocean. Some times wrong place wrong time what gets me is a seasoned news reporter said he was out of water and food one meal since quake? He knows devistation he should have food water anytime he is in country never leave home without at least a 2 liter of water and some energy bars or cakes

  • Honestly you can go out and spend $100 on food and water and that should hold most people over for awhile. People think they have to have 1000's to get prepared.. Well something is better than nothing. Can food for a month or two with 100+ gallons of water will go a long way.

  • Yes in Florida All Land below / South of Interstate-4 would Flood a small town call Clear water north on highway 27 until it come to I-75 is 300 ft above sea level

but over half the State would be underwater for days for about 12 ft sea water If one small volcano Island Near Spain erupt This has been known by me since 1975 But Family Still think that I am Mentally Disabled / Handicap

  • I just bought potassium iodide tablets two weeks ago...now I know for a fact I'm not paranoid.

  • @bobsr3 good for you, BUT learn study carefully the amounts of the iodide you need and when remember the doses for children is different under the aged of 12 yrs Learn how many miles you are to all of the nuke plants they are in your area Like there are three in Florida

  • @RCvolunteer1978 couple of questions: how many days can this be taken? When do you take it?, do we wait for a public health warning from....?

  • If you ever did the math and figured out how much food and evrything else gets

shiped in from other places. It would not take long for stores to run out of food

in the event of a major disater.

  • Hey Dsarti btw there should be an 8.0 in next 48 hrs (aftershock pattern from megas) in Japan and Mt Fuji will erupt in less than 60 days (speculation based on past major quakes in Japan).

  • @vashguud that would definitely be a very bad thing for Japan, and the rest of the world right now...

  • you said it!!! pplllbbbsssttt!!!

  • Of course, I am paranoid - according to the sheeple. You have some sweet comm gear. Thank the Lord for preppers. KEEP ON PREPPING

  • The highest point in Florida is only 345 feet above sea level.

  • I'm only paranoid coz everyone is out to get me!

  • Oops a tiny typo. I mean in Japan, they are in need of HAM for emergency comm.

  • Thanks missed your yids

  • 3.8 WEST TEXAS!! holy shit... in the gas fields.. I heard in Japan they are in need of HAM! for emergency preps!

  • Hi Disarti! Good to see you back on YT, missed ya! I've been preppin for a while now and when I saw the pictures on TV of all those empty store shelves in Japan I called my daughter in to look at it with the simple statement: "That's why we prep." The message came across loud and clear.

  • i must say some prepers are paranoid... sure ill be a preper once i live on my own... but a person needs to be alittle paranoid... helps keep us alive

  • Some People Never Wake Up , Until They Get A Cold Hard Slap , of Reality

  • Uprated, faved and shared with a HAM radio guy who hasn't gotten it together to renew his license, claims he has a bugout bag, but is adrift on the East Coast without his birth certificate or any money. I begged him not to leave Europe and go back to the USA. We had a pretty big earthquake in Brittany, France, a month ago. Unheard of. No one is safe.

  • Silly liberals,...Facts are for smart people

  • i live on the left coast here in southern CA and I have a earthquake cache out in the yard, away from the house... made me feel great after seeing the devistation in Japan... horrific as it was, I am just glad that Im ready for the "big one" if it should come.
