i made a similar one, a little longer. using very little oxygen is fun cause you get a thick nasty smoke to roll outta the end, but cuts the distance. also large bolts with cardboard wads go nicely. :) i would recomend making the whole thing larger if you get a chance. i think our chamber was half again as long and our barrel probably had a foot to a foot and a half on yours. it stood a little over 6feet tall, but we also just used whatever scraps we had lying around. very nice!!

Put out the flame so just the gas will flow out and into the cannon. Since it was buring good you know it will be the right mixture of oxygen and acetylene
dude PVC costs alot less sure u have a metal one, but yours is alot heavier and more expensive so i don't think anyone would take yours over a better quality PVC

I think I understood what you said. Yes a combustion cannon could explode. The only way though is if a potato or what ever was being fired got hopelessly jammed in the barrel. I used rubbing alcohol in my Potato cannon and a sabot so there was very little chance of the gun self destructing. In an air cannon it is in a pressurized canister. If it is over pressurized it will burst. Which someone can easily do.

SirSubstance Oxy acetylene is VERY dangerous,I happen to know being a qualified welder, judging the welds by the video I would say they were Stick welded (MMAW) and not a very good job at that, you should of placed the end caps in side the combustion chamber and v'd then out at 60degrees leaving a 2mm root face, then TIG weld the root and stick weld the hot pass and the capping run using a 6011 rod, that is the propper prodecure for most pressure vessels.
The pipe should have been Ocy Acetylene welded after beveling in both pieces and welded using filler Metal. (Industry Standard). And 6011 is GENERAL Purpose deep penetrating rod. NOT suitable for pipe welding.
I made mine out of stainless steel with a mig welder, stainless 304L 3"x2ft chamber, 1.5"x3' barrel, wstainless tripod(that breaks down. Welded w/licoln mig using stainless wire.

Maybe you got the same size flame, but hairpsray (propane and/or butane) won't burn anywhere near as violently as oxy-acetylene.
