@MegaWolfgang They all ready have haha. Search up alien quadrilogy they come with both theatrical releases and special edition. This is a special edition scene
Yeah its a good thing this part was not in the movie. it is a bit cheesy and it would have taken away from the mystery of why all the people were missing.
(Alien1979) Ridley Scott + John Hurt + and a score by Jerry Goldsmith performed by the National Philharmonic Orchestra = the most horrific film made. The best film made. I still have Nightmares about being on the Nostromo. You can not copy this movie or chop it up (but they try). It's art. I'm a fan of the age where real movies were made. (the 26 thumbs down belong to Shia LaBeouf fans...may you live forever) P.S. you still have to see James Cameron's Aliens AND John Carpenter's the Thing.
i prefer the theatrical version more (except for the sentry gun scene) because was it was more suspenseful when you didn't get to see everything at the colony (and the aliens) before the characters got there
@MacabreBerries Strangely enough, normally being such a completist, I agree. The colony scene in particular is great, and it offers a unique and realistic, albeit brief, view into colonial life circa 200 years or so into the future. But ultimately it takes away from some of the mystery surrounding the marines' arrival, and the whole 'Mary Celeste'/Roanoke Colony vibe therein. I love the special edition, but have to agree that the theatrical version actually benefits from the loss of this scene.
I disagree with cretulicabz's opinoin of Newt's parents being responsible for the colony's infestation of the aliens. On behalf of Bishop's orders to obtain a specimen, it was Burke, a representative for Weyland-Yutani Corp that was responsible for the alien attack on the space settlement.
+1 agreed. They (wildcatters, mom&pop survey team) were just told "there might be something at point X, go check there" .......and as ripley points out later, "...and you didn't even warn them burke, why didn't you warn them??" (nail you to the wall scene)
Future generations of space explorers will build statues thanking us for our wisdow. Always bring a gun, confirm a kill and leave your curiosity at home when on alien worlds, their manuals will read.
Awwwwwwwww... the facehugger just wants to give you a hug. And put something inside you that will burst out of your chest in a bloody massacre while people just stand there screaming and aliens stabing them and eating them alive hoping to repopulate their planet because they died off with only eggs that remain and the only company they have is the cold stormy darkness that surronds them each day and night!(takes a breath)And the only thing they know to do is obey their queen!!! I love this movie
A brilliant scene, same for sentry guns and having just watched the entire batch of movies I have to say, stuff the commercial time constraints, many of the deleted scenes are actually bloody pivotal to the movie.
I saw this in the theatre the summer it weas released. I still have the underwear I wore that and with the racing stripe the movie created. Good times.
You son of a gun thank you so much for putting this up, I've been looking for this for a long time and couldn't find it anywhere you win the internet for this. I love this film (Aliens is the only one I haven't seen yet) I hope the prequel will be just as good as the originals.
This seems like the best place to ask about this. Years and years ago a friend had some sort of bootleg video of Aliens which had this stuff, but something else. I must be misremembering, but there was a sort of last stand scene where the few remaining colonists were fighting against the aliens, and it was a kind of "let's do this!" final rush or something. Anyone heard of this?
@jameskennedy80 probably the tunnel scene, with the automatic sentry guns and they monitor who much amo they got,and the aliens keep coming.it's on the list in the right
BTW. why is the Sulaco such a big ship and there was no crew left behind on it when they went and checked out LV-426? Its a beautiful spaceship non the less but it would make more sense if there was at least a crew and another Colonial Marine unit on that ship.
Wow. The parents decide to check out an unknown craft in the middle of nowhere without calling the home base and leave their kids all alone. Smart aren't they?
@boredalllife They're republicans. Do you not remember the conversation which took place inside the colony between the administrator and his aide? "Mom and pop survey team," if I recall correctly. Family values and christian morals will protect anyone against lurking xenomorphs.
According to Alien3 it takes days for the queen to form inside a person's chest before it emerges. If it took a few days for the Jordan family to find the ship it'd take a few days for them to get back to the colony, so it's possible that the Alien queen hatched outside before they could get the Jordan's into quarantine, & the queen grew outside the colony(which some of the colonists probably found out the hard way), hence the tractors in front of the large door when the soldiers first arrived.
It would be weird if a Predator flew that ship with the aliens on it but it wouldn't make sense because there was a human dead outside of it if I can remember correctly :) alien rules :)
I have the laserdisc set that includes the burke scene and more footage than any other special edition on dvd. It is so frak'n awesome. It has hundreds of individual pictures and you can read multiple versions of the treatment and the scripts. I love it so much, but unfortunately I have no remote control for the player anymore so I can't step through the picture or the scripts, which sucks. I hope they put all of that stuff on to a Blue-Ray disc soon.
If the father of Newt gets a facehugger on his face it should mean that the Queen already is alive at that moment because she lays the eggs with the facehuggers in it.
@2308Pascal That's wrong. Even in the first alien move there are tons of eggs. This one that facehugged newt's father was certainly one of those. It is said the queen that laid all of those eggs got out from the space jockey but eventually died by hanger or whatever else after who knows how many years. I assume without a queen, the newt's father chestburster would have been the movie's queen.
@2308Pascal Eggs don't grow, period. Yes a queen lays the eggs. But I think we can safely assume that the queen that originally laid the eggs on the derelict ship died a long time ago, otherwise the crew of the Nostromo would have encountered it. Since we don't know anything about where the aliens originally came from or how they came to be it's also possible that the eggs were somehow taken from a queen somewhere by the alien found on the derelict.
@2308Pascal Also, since we don't know anything about the aliens' origins, it's possible that the facehuggers/aliens/eggs were created in a lab somewhere & were being transported to a different location when one of the eggs hatched & impregnated the alien pilot. It may not have been a queen & obviously died at some point.
I was in the movies when they screened this directors cut. I heard a woman behind me mutter when the alien ship came into view "Oh shit....bad idea.."
if this was made today it would be not as good because it would be made with computer animation. ps where did that ship come from they never told us in all the alien movies.
You'd suppose someone would have spotted a gigantic spaceship, before building a base on the planet. I mean, if they've had time to terraform it to the extent of having breathable air, they must've surveyed it, or mapped it from orbit.
I never saw this before, but can see why it was cut, it would be inconceivable that Newt could have been able to survive, the entire family would have been quarantined
@Nyarlathoteplol I'm assuming if the family were quarantined they would be confined to one place, so Newt would not have been able to roam freely around the base, escape whatever attack took place and hide from the Aliens. It just didn't seem logical to me that she would be the only survivor under that scenario.
@gmonday After the chestburster melted its way out of containment, I doubt it was very secure.
And remember, the infestation of Hadley's Hope must have taken several days at the very least. I doubt they would keep her quarantined for that entire time, especially after learning how the alien life cycle does and doesn't work.
@Nyarlathoteplol After the chestburst, and after the baby alien escapes thru the ventilation system, as in the first movie, logic dictates that the entire family would be confined and monitored. This is all while the baby grows and steals people who apparently aren't missed right away, till there is an army of Aliens who overpower the base. It still seems unlikely that Newt would be able to escape quarantine once the Aliens took over, as she would be a sitting duck.
@gmonday Maybe she was able to hide in a small space somewhere in the quarantined area. Her brother says in this video that she can go places others can't fit. It's also possible that when the aliens overrode the colony Newt & her family were let out of quarantine(assuming they were in quarantine to begin with). I can't imagine the colonists being so callous as to sign the family's death warrants by leaving them in quarantine with the aliens coming. Even a dog doesn't deserve to die that way.
@gmonday It's also possible that she & her brother were not quarantined, that only their parents were. The parents were the ones who went aboard the ship after all. I would think that the colony doctors would have checked the family immediately after they returned(& definitely after the alien hatched from Russ' chest). So they probably knew that Anne & her kids were ok.
@gmonday Unfortunately, that never happened. According to the novelization, after the Jordens returned to Hadley's Hope, a team was sent into the derelict to investigate, but they were all impregnated. The full-grown xenomorphs then overran the colony, killing everyone there--except for Newt. The scene never got filmed because it required a lot of facehuggers to be made, and they were trying to do it on the cheap. The scene would have been really impressive if they'd filmed it as it was written.
@edinscot56789 DONT KNOW WHY THEY DONT CARRY GUNS ON THEM. HMM LETS GO SEARCH A SCARY LOOKIN ALIEN SHIP AND CARRY NO WEAPONS, BUT I THINK THE BEAM FROM OUR FLASHLIGHTS WILL SCARE OFF THE BAD GUYS.....DONT KNOW WHY THERE WASNT A MARINE GARRISON IN THAT COLONY, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LESS LIKELY THE ALIENS WOULD HAVE OVERRUN IT. RULE OF THUMB...COLONY WORLD GARRISON MARINES IN THE COLONY ITSELF.
@BubbleGumNipples GENERAL RULE OF THUMB. WHEN THE EXPLORERS OF THE PAST WENT OUT ON VOYAGES THEY ALWAYS CARRIED A WEAPON. ALWAYS. U NEVER KNOW WHEN U NEED IT. ITS BETTER TO HAVE ONE AND NOT NEED IT, THEN TO NEED IT AND NOT HAVE IT. SHIT MAN ID CARRY A GAT JUST INCASE A ROCK JUMPED UP AND TRIED TO BITE ME ON THE ASS ID POP IT A FEW TIMES TO MAKE SURE ITS DEAD. DEAD AND BARREN ON THE OUTSIDE WHO KNOWS WHATS UNDERNEITH. JUST MY RULE OF THUMB. NEVER LEAVE THE PAD WITHOUT PACKIN A GUN. PERIOD
I dont know, Nasa didnt take guns to the moon, Mountain climbers (in country's without bears and lions and crap) dont carry guns up mountains, Cavers dont take guns and those would have been a big help in "The Descent". The guy in Aliens is still a retard though because he still could have been squashed by rubble or something.
Yea, its annoying when movie characters only shoot the monster once and decide "that's enough shooting I think" and then get eaten. They deserve it.
@BubbleGumNipples HOW U KNOW NASA DIDNT GIVE THEM WEAPONS. OH YA, I FORGOT, THEY GAVE EM CYANIDE PILLS TO SWALLOW CASE SHIT HAPPENS. MOUNTAINERS GET EATEN BY LIONS AND BEARS, AND CAVERS BY BATS AND GOD KNOWS WHAT ELSE. IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS CARRY A GUN. FUCK THE MOVIES, IM DISAPOINTED WHEN THEY DONT CONFIRM THE KILL BUT WALK AWAY ONLY TO BE KILLED. ANOTHER RULE OF THUMB, A DOUBLE TAP TO THE CHEST, AND ANOTHER DOUBLE TAP TO THE HEAD. AND IF THATS NOT ENOUGH A GRENADE UP ITS ASS. BAHAHA!!
A new Alien whit james Cameron 3d fusion camera system whit a innovative director to give a new direction to the franchise hell even a reboot would totally own anything done in Sci nowaday, Avatar was new and good but the Alien franchise even whit the 3rd and the 4th isnt really milked not whit the technological possibility 3d offers the movie Aliens being done whit Avatar Tech would have easily make 1 bill + $
notice the cliche scripts in James Cameron's movies. Who remembers the scene in Terminator Judgement day- where an employee is chatting to Joe Morton's character in cyberdyme. He says the same thing- Don't ask!
What can I say about Aliens - incomparable masterpiece, the Best Action of the 80's and one of the best films ever made. I can't believe Sigourney Weaver didn't win the Oscar. She was absolutely brilliant. Anyway all the actors did a great job, visual effects were just WOW. It was like NON-STOP ACTION.
Best films were in the 80's and 90's. I miss that time.
Good scene, I too like to see how the xenomorphs got into the base in the first place. Awesome movie by the way, there's just one thing I don't understand, and that's why the station self destructed. I don't remeber them saying anything about a self destruct system anywhere in the movie, and then someone says that it'll blow up in 4 hours.
@DragonSemi That was because of Vasquez and her buddy blazing away right beneath one of the colony's huge reactors.
Apone collected everyone's magazines in case someone hit something important in there with stray fire. Then Vasquez and heavy weapons guy kept some magazines hidden, and started spraying lead everywhere with Smartrifles when things hit the fan, and hit something important in there with stray fire.
@AlchemistiD @ DragonSemi The Heavily weapons (Entire Xenomorph team is babies!) guy's name was Drake. Hicks call's his name out right before his Smart Gun runs out and goes to the flamethrower (Where the battle music in the movie is at it's best!).
I'm not much into director's cuts cut I like this scene, it would've showed how the Aliens got on the colony and it would've been nice to see the Derelict again.
Idk why the took this out of the original version i mean it does add an explanation on how the place got overtaken. my take on this scene is that the guy who got the facehugger on him got implanted with a queen alien it burst out of him they grew up laid eggs n ppl got infected n yeah. thats my take on how everything prolly happend.
as people have said, its in the special edition version of aliens. I know for a fact that this version is in the Alien Quadrilogy box set but im not sure where else you can get it
@Danguk In a word, everywhere but the original DVD release. The SE of "Aliens" is the only one Fox offers. I think James Cameron demanded that the theatrical versions of both this and "The Abyss" be pulled from circulation. He considers the SE versions to be the official ones.
Where is that ship from?

I still have Nightmares about being on the Nostromo. You can not copy this movie or chop it up (but they try). It's art. I'm a fan of the age where real movies were made. (the 26 thumbs down belong to Shia LaBeouf fans...may you live forever) P.S. you still have to see James Cameron's Aliens AND John Carpenter's the Thing.

i prefer the theatrical version more (except for the sentry gun scene) because was it was more suspenseful when you didn't get to see everything at the colony (and the aliens) before the characters got there
MacabreBerries 1 year ago 26

This seems like the best place to ask about this. Years and years ago a friend had some sort of bootleg video of Aliens which had this stuff, but something else. Anyone heard of this?

According to Alien3 it takes days for the queen to form inside a person's chest before it emerges. If it took a few days for the Jordan family to find the ship it'd take a few days for them to get back to the colony, so it's possible that the Alien queen hatched outside before they could get the Jordan's into quarantine, & the queen grew outside the colony(which some of the colonists probably found out the hard way), hence the tractors in front of the large door when the soldiers first arrived.

2308Pascal 1 year ago
@2308Pascal That's wrong. Even in the first alien move there are tons of eggs. This one that facehugged newt's father was certainly one of those. It is said the queen that laid all of those eggs got out from the space jockey but eventually died by hanger or whatever else after who knows how many years. I assume without a queen, the newt's father chestburster would have been the movie's queen.
Advantix3ple 1 year ago
@2308Pascal There was no queen on the alien ship. The eggs were already there.
Lizfan2 1 year ago
@Lizfan2 The eggs dont grow by themself.
2308Pascal 1 year ago
@2308Pascal Eggs don't grow, period. Yes a queen lays the eggs. But I think we can safely assume that the queen that originally laid the eggs on the derelict ship died a long time ago, otherwise the crew of the Nostromo would have encountered it. Since we don't know anything about where the aliens originally came from or how they came to be it's also possible that the eggs were somehow taken from a queen somewhere by the alien found on the derelict.
Lizfan2 1 year ago
@2308Pascal Also, since we don't know anything about the aliens' origins, it's possible that the facehuggers/aliens/eggs were created in a lab somewhere & were being transported to a different location when one of the eggs hatched & impregnated the alien pilot. It may not have been a queen & obviously died at some point.
Lizfan2 1 year ago
@Lizfan2 Maybe Predators made the eggs and smuggled them on a spaceship.
2308Pascal 1 year ago
@2308Pascal Maybe. They certainly liked using them as hunting game didn't they.

bierbuik 1 year ago
You'd suppose someone would have spotted a gigantic spaceship, before building a base on the planet. I mean, if they've had time to terraform it to the extent of having breathable air, they must've surveyed it, or mapped it from orbit.
ChudFapper 1 year ago
I never saw this before, but can see why it was cut, it would be inconceivable that Newt could have been able to survive, the entire family would have been quarantined
gmonday 1 year ago
@gmonday Quarantined, yes. But why would Newt die?
Nyarlathoteplol 1 year ago
@Nyarlathoteplol I'm assuming if the family were quarantined they would be confined to one place, so Newt would not have been able to roam freely around the base, escape whatever attack took place and hide from the Aliens. It just didn't seem logical to me that she would be the only survivor under that scenario.
gmonday 1 year ago
@gmonday After the chestburster melted its way out of containment, I doubt it was very secure.
And remember, the infestation of Hadley's Hope must have taken several days at the very least. I doubt they would keep her quarantined for that entire time, especially after learning how the alien life cycle does and doesn't work.
Nyarlathoteplol 1 year ago
@Nyarlathoteplol After the chestburst, and after the baby alien escapes thru the ventilation system, as in the first movie, logic dictates that the entire family would be confined and monitored. This is all while the baby grows and steals people who apparently aren't missed right away, till there is an army of Aliens who overpower the base. It still seems unlikely that Newt would be able to escape quarantine once the Aliens took over, as she would be a sitting duck.
gmonday 1 year ago
@gmonday Maybe she was able to hide in a small space somewhere in the quarantined area. Her brother says in this video that she can go places others can't fit. It's also possible that when the aliens overrode the colony Newt & her family were let out of quarantine(assuming they were in quarantine to begin with). I can't imagine the colonists being so callous as to sign the family's death warrants by leaving them in quarantine with the aliens coming. Even a dog doesn't deserve to die that way.
Lizfan2 1 year ago
@gmonday It's also possible that she & her brother were not quarantined, that only their parents were. The parents were the ones who went aboard the ship after all. I would think that the colony doctors would have checked the family immediately after they returned(& definitely after the alien hatched from Russ' chest). So they probably knew that Anne & her kids were ok.
Lizfan2 1 year ago
@gmonday Unfortunately, that never happened. According to the novelization, after the Jordens returned to Hadley's Hope, a team was sent into the derelict to investigate, but they were all impregnated. The full-grown xenomorphs then overran the colony, killing everyone there--except for Newt. The scene never got filmed because it required a lot of facehuggers to be made, and they were trying to do it on the cheap. The scene would have been really impressive if they'd filmed it as it was written.

Because honestly when exploring a dead and barren world who would expect to find a crashed spaceship full of monsters.
Obviously in a horror movie, game, comic book etc you would expect that.
But the characters in the story dont know they are in a movie about killer aliens.

@BubbleGumNipples GENERAL RULE OF THUMB. WHEN THE EXPLORERS OF THE PAST WENT OUT ON VOYAGES THEY ALWAYS CARRIED A WEAPON. ALWAYS. U NEVER KNOW WHEN U NEED IT. PERIOD
HUEJOHNSON 1 year ago

I dont know, Nasa didnt take guns to the moon, Mountain climbers (in country's without bears and lions and crap) dont carry guns up mountains, Cavers dont take guns and those would have been a big help in "The Descent". The guy in Aliens is still a retard though because he still could have been squashed by rubble or something.
Yea, its annoying when movie characters only shoot the monster once and decide "that's enough shooting I think" and then get eaten. They deserve it.
BubbleGumNipples 1 year ago
